So all this "MK1 cast is so overused blah" is just code for "Oh no my fav character has a smaller chance of being in now blah". So hypocritical.

Difference is, one group is being positive, which leads to happiness, excitement, and satisfaction. Good vibes. The other leads to negativity , which means constant whining and complaining, thus disappointment, unhappiness, and discontent. If neither changes anything, why would one actively choose to be negative focused and unhappy about it?

Because maybe they're plain ole' unhappy about it? This is an open forum for the public to speak their minds. This isn't a meditation positive thinking spa. If people want to complain, bitch, scream from the rafters- let them. Just skip over their posts.

There is a difference between wanting something realistic and wanting something arbitrarily. From whatI has been comminucated by NRS there has never been any indication of the roster being 30 characters or more. Never. The E3 select screen had and still it does have 24 chracter slots while NRS have been consistent in saying that the roster number will be close to MK9, which was 27 not including Kratos exclusively for PS3, and now from Adam Urbano, Injustice which had 24 characters.
You said that fighting game rosters seem to have bare minimum 30-36 characters these days which is not true. I do not understand how a person can come up with 30 plus roster size when there is nothing to support that MKX was ever going to have 30 or more characters. That is why people are getting "jumped on".

It's hypocritical because the entire thread is about how 24 is not enough characters, but if the people complaining had their favs in they wouldn't be complaining about how big the roster is. That's my entire point.

Ok, now I see...I think.
If I'm a hypocrite for wanting a more well balanced roster when it comes to the returning characters and not just one particular group that's been in a plethora of titles, then file me underneath the heading. That sad, I highly doubt if the people complaining had their favorites in and the roster was still 24 characters that peace, love, and harmony will be drifting throughout this thread. The fact of the matter is the people who's favorites are in now and who are turning their noses up at those who are bitching would be doing the same exact thing if the roles were reversed. "What?! Tanya made it in over Sonya? FUCKING ABOMINATION!" "NO SCORIPION, NO BUY!".
And why is that? Because everyone will never be happy. Another side effect of life. And that's just something you have to deal with. If people aren't happy, if people are disappointed, then let them be. Most of these people will bitch and vent, get their feeling out, and get back to being hype. But stop trying to police feelings and opinions. (That's not just to you, but to everyone in this thread)

I would love to have many 3D era returnees but at least if Mileena was in, I would at least settle for 24. Now it would just be painful if no character that I like returns :/

As I said, I'd be fine with 24 characters if they were well diverse, but most of the returning characters are the same tired stagnant characters. Raiden....whooopy! Sonya and Cage, along with their daughter? How heartwarming. *yawn*.
And do not speak to me like a child. I understand not everyone favorites can get in every game, which is why some of these characters should take a back seat.
I'm not wanting 60 + characters. I'm not wanting fucking Mokap and Meat. I just want a little "surprise". Someone like Fujin or Tanya or Havik. Characters who fans like that haven't been relevant since 2004 or prior.
Well, that escalated quickly.
I honestly was not meaning to be a dick to you, man.
I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to come off so harsh. It's fine. <3
If twenty-four really is the number we're going to have for this game (despite that it is NOT confirmed yet), is it really that bad of a number?
-_-
According to a lot of you, yes. I don't get it. I'm going to play as everyone, not just my favorite Sub-Zero. Can't anyone just be happy we're getting something?
-_-
According to a lot of you, no, you can't be happy.
I'm looking forward on getting this game because they've impressed me with not just the characters they've shown so far, but what they've done to the game with the variations, the graphics and such... I'm happy, I'm sorry I can't say the same for some of you. Maybe you should stop following the game then if you're THIS unhappy with it. That's all I've seen here is nonstop bickering about the smallest of problems and I just don't get it.
What the hell is actually going to please you? When YOUR favorites get announced? I'm sure majority of you will actually have a change in heart, some probably not. But I really don't get what the hell is that much of a problem with this game.
Be happy, and be happy they're showing stuff to us and revealing it. It could be worse, they didn't have to announce anything or show us anything except the E3 trailer. We could easily not have anything to be impressed until 4-14-2015.
So yeah.

I can promise you that this thread would not exist if the OP had his/her favorite in the game. Somebody else who didn't have their favorite in would've made it. That's literally the only reason this thread is even here.

Very well, but the issue at heart would still be present rather or not the thread existed. People will be disappointed with anything. Right now it's roster/characters, in a few months it can be story, a few months after that gameplay ect.
Let people feel how they feel. Because it won't change. Not with MKX, or MK11 ,or MK12 ,or MK13 ect. It's a cycle and apart of the usual "hype" upon the release of a new MK game. There will be people who will love everything they see, people who hate everything they see, people who change their minds from love to hate or hate to love, to those who are indifferent ect. It's a part of the "season".

If you wanna gripe, vent, or complain then be my guest. I'm not telling you or anyone how to feel. NRS can't please everyone, so some people will be unhappy. 100% understand that.

And how bitching about it will change things?
Roster of the game is decided before it enters full scale production. The same goes for DLC. Sorry, but your train went away and there is nothing you can do about it.

No. They are one of the most popular character in the series and this is why they are pretty much in every game.
Since MKDA-MKD newcomers failed to generate enthusiasm in the general audience and fans circles they are not popular and MK-Team do not want put efforts in characters, when 3/4 of audience don't care about them (and no, you are not the whole audience as neither am I). It's simple. There is nothing unfair, illogical or anything like that.

It's a modern trend: whine about absolutely everything. And beyond.
Everything should be turned into tragedy and drama, from high-heels to Moloch's head. Guess, those people just subconciously want to some attention.
