For H, yeah man don't worry I noticed that bo's throw actually backs off away from your unlike in Deception.I doubt they missed one of Deceptions biggest glitches.
Check, I think MK:A will own man why so down on it?
Yeah, subzer0the7th I agree man this will be the UMK3 of 3D mks indeed, more characters, more improvements, better gameplay yep indeed.
BTW, Ninjitsu is bad compared to the other styles however it does have it's ups, I hope they make his plasma sword the same or better because you can do some nasty turtle, poke tactics with it in MK:DA.
And they HAVE to make his bombs faster, please LOL.Everyone elses projectiles are noticably faster that must have more speed like the older MK's.

Well, yeah it has its ups like D + 1...
It's just my three main criticisms of it are
1. It's spelled incorrectly.
2. It's given to the wrong character.
3. It sucks gameplay wise.
Regarding his bombs, I think they should blow up as soon as they land on the ground or as soon as it touches the opponent.
I hope that the Slice n' Dice won't track like it did in MKDA. Well, what I mean is that when you tried to physically attack him when he did that and you sidestepped before attacking, you still get hit with the move.

The reason I ask is because it doesn't look like any of the attacks you've listed that would potentially make Kung Lao top tier are safe. I'm referring to f+1 from both styles, b+3 from Broadswords and 1,4 / 1,4,4 from SF. Were they safe in MKD because they don't look safe in MKA as far as I can tell".

Well,
1,4 was safe with bdc for the most part.
d+1 is 100% safe.
f+1 and b+3 are not safe, but a mix up of mid / low pop up moves is amaizing.
Safe moves are a big issue in MK, some characters (hotaru, jade etc...) are not high tier because they have nothing safe......
Dan - thx man that's what I talked about.
I think they will fix it and make it a low. I mean it's stupid if it will be high don't you think?

Now I think about it, Ying Yeung fits Reiko, sort of. He was insanely fast on MK4 and Ying Yeung is an incredibly fast stance though. He could work well with it. I hope he has his Spin behind special move from MK4. That'd just add to the speed frenzy.

True, but Reiko has changed a lot since MK4. He used to be heaps skinny and quick, but now he looks more big and powerful, hence why he should have the devastator

Hrm... okay, so how do you back dash cancel in MKD? I looked at the gamplay basics link on the first page and it didn't mention anything about bdc.
Also, I understand the mid/low mix-up, but if either is blocked and you take 40% damage, that's pretty risky. I'm just not seeing how that would potentially make Kung top tier.

Yeah man I know what tracking is dude, scorpion's hapkido, sword stance for example also etc had UT(universal tracking horribly in Deception) hopefully they fixed this in general.
I heard that most of the moves that track are going to be gone, but there might be some that still do.
I know it's actually spelled Ninjutsu if I'm not mistaken.
As far as the wrong character, well I think that is just a matter of opinion.
But that's something that is totally random anyway, know what I mean?
I mean I disagree with Kenpo and Sektor personally but what are you going to do man? lol that's what they give them, personally to me it's not a big deal unless they give say Kintaro Hapkido or something lol.
It is low tier gameplay wise, and I agree compared to the other styles it sucks but it's not anything you can't work with when played at high level.
One of those characters that takes discipline, patience and determination to master as oppose to someone like Scorpion for example.
Just give him back the net, make the bombs faster and he'll be fine in the right hands.
Personally, if they gave him back the grinder with tracking considering that he's most likely going to be once again another low tier character as always lol I really won't mind.
Who thinks frost's freeze puddle, likewise bo's puke puddle should disappear if they are hit before coming in contact with it? I don't. Would you make an ice clone disappear if you hit sub zero before landing on it? It should simply have slow cool down I'd say.

You just back dash while you recover - Jinko, 1,4 (blocked), back dash
True, with some characters you can take even 50%+ but don't forgret 90% of the moves in MKD are unsafe.
Even Scorp f+1 in sword can be punished........
I would take the risk of using a breaker for a mid/low juggles mix ups.

Hmmm, hard question......
There are many "known" broken moves we havn't seen (could, tombstone etc.....)
From what we've seen so far, top 5 not in order:
1. Frost
2. Sub
3. Sonya
4. Chameleon
5. Scorpion
This is the top 5 (not in order) imo
There many more, Nitara looks good, Mileena, Liu Kang, Mokap, Quan Chi (if b+1 is safe online), Ermac, Kung Lao, Kabal......
Even Sindel........
Naww just kidding she sucks.....

^ Cool, I was expecting Sonya and Scorp to be up there. I was also expecting Kung Lao, but I guess not...
But Subby... I am a bit surprised. Wasn't he around the bottom few in Deception. Why would he suddenly go so much higher?

Subby,
MKD had around 500 glitches in it, many broken moves stuff like that.
Sub had a bad throw and besides free throws he was tested pretty well, he was just not as broken as everyone else were.
Now that glitches are gone, with the clone, Kori d+3 and b+2 Sun can return to his MK3 days.
Now with throw escapes and testing Sub can be high tier.......
Kung Lao is really good, top 10 but the other 5 were better than him from what we've seen.

^ Cool, thanks heaps
Havik has a juggleable throw and in that sektor/liu kang vid, is it me or was that parry window open for too long? and to mention the fact that liu kang got up instantly he hit the ground; no tech rolling or anything, he just got and was on his merry way.

Yay! Sonya's back in her high-tier lovliness. I hope Mileena and Nitara will be there with her.
Now all we have to do is fix Ashrah, Tanya and Sindel and I'm one happy camper.
They should give Sindel Eagle Claw to replace Zha Chuan. I mean she was going to get it for MKD anyway before they gave her Zha Chuan and it does suit her very nicely, just as nicely as Kitana but from the videos Kitana looks fine, Sindel however, needs it badly.

I can't see why everyone is complaining about the Quick Recover. Every competent fighting game has a quick recover feature. I explained in my E3 thread a while back that the Quick Recover feature was intentionally put in MKD during the final stages of development. The gameplay designer said that he added it because MKD was just to much of an offensive game. With no wake up game programmed in at the time, grounded players had little options and were forced into extreme 50/50's. At least with the QR, you could spring back up to quickly counter your opponent. It not successfull all the time, but it helps some what.
Quick recover features are in every 2D fighting game that I have ever played. If you knock me down in Street Fighter 3: 3rd Stike, I could pull off a QR and either throw, dragon punch or dash away from you. It's a great defensive feature that must be included in the game.
By the way, did anyone else notice that Sektor performed his Tele-Cut druing his air combo in the Liu Vs. Sekotor video? He did it twice although it missed both times. That is finally proof that some special moves can be peformed in the air. I wonder what other special moves can be performed in the air?
Peace

K, so I've been watching these MKA vids and...I'm liking what I'm seeing. If anything else, the game looks fun as fuck. I'm still holding reservations because, well it's MK, lol. I'm pleased to see what I've seen, though. I've been out of the loop for a while and I need a heads up on a few things, so if you peeps could help me out, that would be great.
1.) I noticed that on wake you can attack and what looked to be the option to play dead then tech. Question is, anyone know how wakes work, execution and notation wise?
2.) Canned spam is still in but, I thought I saw some spam that watered out late in the combo, IE you can block portions of if. Is this true? If so, is certain spam only guarnteed on counter now?
3.) Can you jab through blocked spam?
4.) Attack grounded opponents?

Hold ya horses there malone. I wasn't complaining, just suprised is all. The wake up game that they have implemented is just more than i expected out of an MK game. Now if they can get okizeme to work both ways i'll be happy.

Yeah, I did noticed that. Mileena can also do that too with her Teleport Drop Kick. Its in this video here:

it happens at exactly 1:00 in the video.

Well, I haven't seen any vids of someone attacking literally a grounded opponent but I don't think that will happen because of the newer wake up game added. There are 3 forms of wake up game apparently. One is to techroll away, keep rolling.Another is by holding block you STAY on the ground and the third is some kind of uppercut while you're getting up.
I can't see people abusing jabs now like say with Scorpion in Deception because of the parry added.Ohh yeah there's also a low parry and something called a combo blocker added(nobody really knows what this is about yet)
Hope that helps.
