I'm very, very impressed! It's amazing how some simple changes can make a character look miles better. I think her hair was a big problem before. It didn't really compare to her beautiful MKD style. I'm liking this much more. Her colors were also far too muted before; her skin looked too light and her clothing looked bleached. Now she has that nice dark skin and bright golden clothes. It really nails that Egyptian vibe I got from her Deception look.

I was gonna buy Tanya just because of the costumes she came with, but now she looks so cool I'm gonna be glad to have her. I still don't really think the prices are super fair, but I'm not bothered by it enough to deny myself this character.

Can't wait for Tanya. Aside from her hair I thought story mode Tanya looked decent. If her playstyle suits me, she might replace Mileena as my female main.

I like that her dialog in MKX suggests she is not exactly evil. She says she is fighting for Mileena in exchange for a "Free Edenia" as in an Edenia free of a Monarchy.

So in MK4 she betrayed the Earthrealmers not explicitly for Shinnok, but because they were allied with the Edenian Monarchy. (Sindel, Kitana, Jade, etc)

I agree though that in this timeline it seems like Tanya hasn't quite fallen all the way into evil yet. Perhaps it's because Shinnok didn't try to enter Edenia, and therefore didn't have the opportunity to tempt her with power.

They're clearly still merged -- Kotal Kahn refers to Edenia as part of Outworld.

I'm sure Mileena's not eager to give up Edenia at all, but if that was Tanya's demand in exchange for freeing her from prison, she didn't have that many options.

I'll chime in here, I think her original look in MKX story is her best yet. It was different yes but in a good way, it made her stand out more as an individual. Her deception look reminded me too much of a yellow pallet swapped Jade (granted that their costumes are very different but their looks too similar still). Seeing and hearing her in story mode I think they nailed her new look right off the bat.

I actually thought she sounded like Nikki Minaj in the story mode. I was surprised the VA was Commander Shepard.

I think her voice fit story mode Tanya perfectly, but now that they've changed her appearance, i'm not sure how i feel about her voice, she looks like Deception Tanya now, i'm used to hearing her sound like a man, not a sassy mean girl

I did too, but her new voice gives her a personality she desperately needed. It doesn't fit her tweaked MKX look imo though
