The list this the list that. Get over it. Let me remind you that when MK9 was in development there was an online voting between some characters in the official website. The character that had the most votes was going to be the next one to have their official render, vignette video, shadow image and a bunch of other goodies shown. The only characters we were able to vote for were being featured in the official website and were probably the big names in the minds of the developers. Mileena was up there with Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Liu Kang and Shang Tsung. You seem to conveniently forget that she was in the lead since the beginning until they finally revealed her stuff. And we aren't talking characters like Jarek and Daegon. She was ahead of the most "iconic" characters you've been talking about nonstop. I'm pretty sure that says something about her popularity so you can shut it about the list already.

Same. I have a feeling this is going to mirror Deadly Alliance into Deception, in a sense. "We killed these characters, so they won't be in the next game." (But Sub-Zero says hi!) Just a feeling I have. Of course, if she and Shang Tsung are somehow in, I'd be thrilled.

But if they (likely) aren't, I'd be totally cool with Shinnok, Tanya, Fujin, Ashrah, and other potential candidates.


Although...they still need the deceased in the game in some fashion, I'd imagine. I just hope they get more than their names briefly mentioned.

Never heard of or never seen this list. Source? And what she was in the lead at the beginning of what? And I bet more people were on the online lists than in the list on the website. Never even knew it existed.

If you were around when MK9 was in development you would have. Each month, the outcome of the voting procedure decided which of the featured characters would have their vignette videos, promotional HD renders, etc, revealed. Stuff like those:





And out of the 6 "most iconic" characters you have been mentioning over and over, Mileena was in the lead since the voting started until they finally released her stuff. I remember I had a laugh coz Boon and his team probably didn't expect the only girl they featured to lead by such a margin so they released Scorpion and Sub Zero's first anyway. Even though fans were complaining. So I'd say she has a pretty huge following.
Also since I see you still talking about the list saying that more people played online than voting in the official website, let me tell you this. A big number of people who played MK9 online are most definitely people who just rented the game and played it once or twice. Not just fans of the game who played it nonstop, or competitive players. So when a scrub decides to play MK online for the first time, YOU BET they are gonna first pick Scorpion to spam his ridiculously easy gameplay. That's a no-brainer.
So you have a number of hardcore fans who follow the franchise when a new game is about to come out (those who had obviously been voting in the official website as well) and a number of people who just played the game a few times online with their friends (those who would obviously use Scorpion or Sub Zero rather than Sindel and Kano). The first group brought Mileena to the first place in the official website. The second barely used her online. Do you really think Boon and his team are gonna try to satisfy the first group or the second? Think logical here. Just try. Don't be so sure about stuff you obviously don't know coz it shows it's the first time you've been following the game prior to its release. More of a reason not to be so damn sure about the team's decisions already.
