I don't dislike Kitana but I have agree with the sentiment that she's been rather stale since Deadly Alliance or so. Retcons in this game didn't do her any favors either.

The Purple Prince meanwhile was made into serious bizness in MKA and this game built even further on that, giving him even more delicious background. He's come a long way.

I predicted this would be the closest battle of Round 2, and so far seem to be correct. It seems Rain is currently down by one vote. I withold my vote until midnite.

Kitana was very important in the progression of the story in the early MK's, but Rain was very important in the progression of the story in the later MK's. In fact, Armageddon is arguably because of him, and because of Armageddon MK got a doover...soo technically if MKA is because of Rain, then MK9 is also because of Rain.

When it comes to who looks cooler, its a tie.

When it comes to who has the better moveset or powers, Rain wins by a landslide.

So I am leaning towards Rain.

Also, it says something when your a villain and you are not just a random thug for Kahn or Shinnok.

I really didn't like Shao Kahn in this game. He used to be cool, but not in this game. His outfit, his voice, his cheapness and his attitude in the Story Mode, all these things add to reasons why I have started to dislike him.

Sindel however is awesome and she's got the coolest scene in Story Mode. So this vote goes to Sindel.

Shao Kahn is the single greatest fighting game boss of all time. No other comes even remotely close to his greatness. Some bosses may come at you with ridiculously cheap attacks and A.I. (Sup SNK?). But Shao Kahn did it with style. Not only is his appearance inspired and completely intimidating, but he quickly showed that he had the personality and presence to match.

I remember the first time I met Shao Kahn in the arcades. I was excited, but at the same time, I thought to myself, "Okay, what kind of cheap A.I is gonna rape my pocket of quarters now?" I was playing as Mileena. At the beginning of the round, I began charging my sai projectile, anticipating a flurry of over-powered attacks. Catching me completely off guard, Shao Kahn stopped, pointed his finger at me and said, "You will never win!". All I could think at that moment was, "Oh... shit." The several quarters I had lined up on the base of the cabinet's screen quickly vanished.

I was rather young when this happened, but Shao Kahn literally scared me shitless. Regardless, NO fighting game boss has ever made such an impact as the Emperor of Outworld. Other fighting games had bosses that were cheap. Mortal Kombat had a boss that was just plain better than you, and he fucking knew it!

Um...but Rain IS a random thug for Kahn. That's the whole point of his story. He was an Edenian rebel who turned against his own and joined Kahn instead.
