Aww my favourite sub-boss out in the first round :(

and I vote Kintaro as I've never really taken to Sheeva and honestly don't see her returning apart from If they do another MKT/MKA thing.

Hmm, decisions, decisions and for some reason I can't seem to figure out who's the better character.

With Sheeva they designed her the way I wanted to finally by making her a grotesque-looking female. Whoever thought that all females in a fighting game needed to be attractive is beyond me.

The problem I have with her is the way she got treated in this game. For a Shokan beast, she really didn't come off that way during story mode with her countless amount of beatings she got by half of the good guys that had a chapter of their own in this. Even her ending, that's supposed to "avenge" Australia in some fashion, didn't really help.

With Kintaro I do love kitties... and tigers are my favorite animals of all-time. Yeah, they kinda made him cute-looking in this, but honestly, you can still be cute and deadly at the same time.

However, that doesn't mean you need to be so freaking easy to beat in arcade mode. His moves were so readable, at times I felt like not dodging his moves just so that I could get some damage because I felt really sorry that I'm whipping ass of a sub-boss that once deemed impossible to beat. How do you go from being one of the hardest things to beat to one of the easiest?

Bah! I can't vote, both characters disappointed me in other ways, but the ways I stated were troubling me the most. Which is sad because both are some of my favorites in this series. I guess I'll just have to wait until the vote is over to figure out who I'll vote for when their round comes up for the second part of the vote.

He's my favorite MK sub-boss of all time. Plus, he's such a cute little kitty.

I think Sheeva is an interesting character, but I never really got into her. Sorry Sheeva.

The first female Shokan and the first playable Shokan. Also the first character to rip off all your skin in one go.

i always disliked sheeva. so i voted for my favorite shokan warrior. he was awsome in mk2 but in mka he was lacking.

I voted Sheeva. I've always hated Kintaro, and I still do. Only time I liked his look was in MKA.

Sheeva. Kintaro is a joke in MK9. He looks like he'd be happier curled up and napping in a sunbeam than engaged in Mortal Kombat. He is also ridiculously easy to beat. (bait teleport, full combo, repeat)

Voted 4 Sheeva. I really like that she isn't a generic looking character like the rest of the female cast. I remember in one of the KOTW threads Garlador had some excellent points about Sheeva.

She is a Shokan of honor and wants to do wha'ts best for her people. Even in her ending, its shown that she is capable of running a country. To quote Garlador, " ...Sheeva is actually quite a bit more complex. She's got morals, ambitions, fairness, justice, and more honor than practically anyone else in the game. She fights for her people, not for Kahn, and she does what's best for those she cares about and loves..." I really like her alot and even though she isn't cookie cutter, I want to see how she expand beyond the generic henchwoman storyline. Heck, I want to see her in MK10 to see who she'll team up with.


Honestly, I'm a little surprised I thought more people would have voted for Sheeva than Kintaro, but sadly that's not the case. Ah well.

Sheeva.

She is much more interesting than Kintaro in terms of development potential. I mean I like Kintaro in MK9 design-wise, but gameplay-wise he was a failure of the boss. Completely unable to make any damage unless you will stay on one place and allow him to beat yourself. Sheeva was more interesting than him in that department and her fatalities were on of the best in the game.

I'm really surprised at how badly Sheeva's doing.

She is a great character but they haven't shown how great she can be in the games. They just cast her aside most of the time. I would like to see her in more games. Maybe as a defender of Earthrealm like it states in her ending.

I think the problem with KittyCataro is that his super punch is too slow and his teleport can't go forward or back like a player controlled Sheeva can do either. It's also very slow and predictable.

Of course I voted for Sheeva.

Ehh... Kintaro.

Sheeva! However, Kintaro is a "working-class" character, and I like that. Thanks to MK reboot, I imagine the Kuatan world in a more complex way.

Besides that, if next battle is Ashrah vs Nitara, I ́m gonna die. Ashrah and Nitara are the best female character introduced since MKDA, both of them are really strong, complex and charismatic character, and I really want to see this two great warrior in the next game. Both girls are better than Li Mei (overrated character), for example. Agh!

I voted for Sheeva. I like both of these characters a lot. Kitnaro was awesome in that he introduced the idea that there are sub-species of the Shokan. That's really awesome and I wouldn't hate to see another Shokan sub-boss int he future.

However, Sheeva was even cooler. Before her conception, no one got to use the Shokan powers. She was the character that let us play like Goro and Kintaro, and that makes her pretty damn awesome!

Easily the best addition of the MKDA-MKA era and it's a shame she didn't make a return appearance in MKD.

Ashrah is, okay actually. I would've liked if they focused on her past with the Brotherhood of Shadows a bit more but Nitara is just far more interesting and cooler to me.
