As far as Ermac vs Reptile is concerned, if it was pre-MK9, I would probably have voted for Reptile. But MK9 made Ermac such a badass, at least in his cutscenes, that I HAVE to give him his props!

Surely people will vote for Jade. I mean don't get me wrong Skarlet is good and all. She's a great new character, but Jade is my girl. I got to campaign for her.lol.

I've always been partial to Jade myself, actually. I just... well I've never played as or against Skarlet, so I don't know jack shit about her, let alone whether I like her or not.

In the end, that will probably be the deciding factor in my decision.

I went with Jade. This has nothing to do with it, but I love her pig tail alt in I think either MKA or MKD. I don't know. I don't know much of MK. All I know is that it's a big tournament of mugging people either publicly or secretly.

Dang this one's close so far. I'm hoping Jade comes out the winner of this one.

Skarlet. I've gotten over my initial hatred for her, but my dislike for Jade is eternal.

Not really, but I'm not a fan. She was at her best in Deception.

I really loved Skarlet, she has become one of my favourite characters, she is fun to play as and has alot of potential plus she is a ninja with blood powers! I love red-heads, I love ninjas and I love blood powers, and Skarlet is all that in one package. Though her story is lacking, she has gotten an interesting start and I hope she will gain room to develop by returning in future titles.

However, Jade has been my number one favourite MK character since I first played as her in Ultimate MK3! Her gameplay, her moves, her fatalities, her looks, her outfits, her story... There's not one thing about her I do not like! There is always room for improvement, as is there with all characters, but Jade has grown to become one of the coolest characters in Mortal Kombat history! No one is perfect, but Jade is about as closest you can get to be perfect, in my opinion.

My freaking username is based on her name, for fucks sake! Was there ever any doubt on who I would vote for?

Skarlet. I just love the idea of her being created entirely out of blood from defeated warriors. i think that so cool. Jade never really interested me enough compared to Skarlet.

I like Skarlet but think they could have done a lot mroe with her than making herjust another henchman. It will be interesting tos ee how they develop her. The blood thing was kinda neat but I kinda associate nitara with blood and blood powers so it was a little bit lazy.

Jade is just an awful, awful chatacter IMO. Bland design IMO (her MKD alt is the only cosutme of hers I like), a pretty poor story (which being in only a couple of games is no excuse for), and a very one sided rivalry with Tanya which was jsut forced out fo nowhere and not expanded in any way. They improved her marginally in MK9 by having her interact with characters who arent Kitana and Sindel, but she was just kind of there and her story chapter was very forced.

I voted for Skarlet.

One of the deciding factors in this competition for me is "Well how do I play as this character?". Even after a year of owning the game, Jade's still a challenge for me to use effectively, and despite Skarlet having a higher learning curve I learned how to use her a lot quicker and more effectively. In terms of gameplay, Skarlet chumps Jade, and her powers are a lot more interesting as well in comparison.

Another factor I take into consideration is the impression I get off the character from both their costume, dialogue and story. Whilst Jade certainly has the sarcastic, patronising wit which makes her sassy and sexy, her designs in this game didn't leave me too impressed. Even her UMK3 skin, which is my own personal favourite look, looks nothing like her. I don't like the fact that depending on what outfit I pick (from the ingame ones to the DLC ones), her skin colour fucking changes between each one. It's character consistency issues like that which bug me.

Even her face changes so drastically in each game that it's hard to recognise her bar the green outfits she wears. That combined with the fact that they just never seem to know what they're doing with Jade in the story, in one game she's morally conflicted having to hunt down Kitana for treason, and the next game she's ironically hating on Tanya with unrelenting vengeance for the exact same thing. She's got a lot of flaws that personally hold me back from voting on her, which is a pity considering she impressed me so much in UMK3.

Whilst Skarlet's costume is really just a bra, mask, boots and a thong, I really, really liked her alternate costume that unfortunately was reserved for the Vita. Her fatalities show her to be a lot more sadistic and ruthless than a lot of other female characters; she actually seems to get just as much pleasure, if not more so, than Mileena from killing someone. That and the fact she silently just watches events unfold in the story whilst following Quan Chi and keeping an eye on him, she just seems a little creepy to me, like some sort of murderer preying on her victims. She has an interesting concept and is one of the first "new" characters to be introduced to Mortal Kombat in a long, long time that I've actually been excited about and would like to see again. There's a sinister vibe to her that I quite like, of all the female Ninja's, it would be Skarlet who I'd be most afraid of to face in a fight. The fact she's reserved only as an extreme option by Kahn himself speaks volumes about her strength and capacities.
