Jade because of her fun combos/moves and general sexiness.

Voted Jade; while I'm not a huge fan of Jade (I don't mind her though), I don't really like Skarlet to be honest. She seems to be trying to fill niches occupied by existing characters in the canon:

- Shang Tsung's experiment (Mileena)
- Blood-obsessed character (Nitara))

Plus I'm not that big a fan of her costume (although the Alt is kinda cool).

So yeah :P

This was a tough one for me, as I love Skarlet and I dig Jade too.

I ended up voting for Jade as she's never looked better than she does in this game, aesthetically and gameplay-wise.

Skarlet is a great concept, but slightly fell short in design. Her move-set is just shy of being great, and her outfit leaves a bit to be desired. I just think they should have gone a little heavier with the blood theme with life sacrifice and recovery. She's still bad ass though, just Jade is both refined AND bad ass!

Aside from Skarlet's intro and fatalities, I don't like anything about her. Not to mention the sounds she makes while fighting are extremely annoying.

As for Jade, I'm afraid she slipped down the order on my list of fave characters. I don't like her new costumes, although the primary one looks nice in the render it just doesn't look as good in the game (the colors kind of lack life and the cleavage is way too big). An even bigger problem is her gameplay, she just feels sluggish and doesn't flow well with me. I do play as her, but it can often be very frustrating. MKD Jade, primary costume, was perfect imo and I hope when she returns she'll sport that look again as it remains my favorite female design in MK.

Though I of course hope that Jade will win, then I am glad to see Skarlet has this many supporters. ^^

As I've stated before I want as many Edenian natives to make it as possible.

I've always dug Jade's story; for a supporting character on the good-guys' side, she did good for herself in UMK3 and MKD (really enjoyed her beef with Tanya; between that and Rain in MKD's Konquest, I enjoy the notion of her huting down Edenian traitors. Hits close to home for her). I wasn't expecting too much of her in 2011; I'm just grateful that she escaped the storyline unscathed and more or less went through the same motions she did in her debut (that's more than I can say for, say, Noob Saibot). Downside is...well...she sucks to play. Seems like you need to work twice as hard to get any damage with her; has none of the high-hitting, varied combo strings you'd expect her to have (come on, even MKD got that right), and could stand to be faster. Still one of my faves though.

Skarlet got off to a pretty good start; she's a ton of fun to play (If Nitara ever comes back, she might be hard-pressed to come up with new shtick). Downsides are a somewhat lackluster outfit, and the stigma of being yet another of Kahn's goons. We've already gone the "ultimate hidden warrior" route with Chameleon; did we really need another one? I was really hoping she'd be working for Shinnok.

Skarlet, I've never liked Jade.

I vote for Skarlet because she has the ability of getting stronger by absorbing the blood of her opponents!

i voted for skarlet. kinda wish meat had the treatment skarlet had but skarlet is a female that uses various blood powers so it's a win, win.

Voted Jade because I still haven't gotten around to actually downloading Skarlet. I know I know shame on me.

They need to get a clear concise direction for Jade's character because it seems like that's what has put her back in the voting.

What I think they should do with Jade is make her a mole for the good guys. Like she's a huge spy for them, but the bad guys can never figure out, and every time they start to figure out she finds a way to place blame on someone else. It would make a great character for her. That should be her defining character trait. She's a mole.

Though I truly love Skarlet as a new addition to the MK world... It's going to have to go to Jade.

I've always liked Jade, but in the current game I love what they did with her personality... She is just such a sarcastic wiseass. Absolutely love it.

I looked up a tier list online to see where Jade placed, and I was surprised to see her ranked dead last. No wonder you guys don't love her gameplay.

I liked jade's gameplay in this game and the past games. This one is a very hard decision for me. I really liked the installment of skarlet as a character. I hope to see her story unfold in the future. As much as I like jade, I think my vote goes to the underdog here. Skarlet has some awesome potential and gameplay aspects.

I'm a Reptile fan too, but sadly I don't think he'll make it past the first round. Stryker gets paired with Mokap, and Cage with Kobra, but Reptile gets paired with Ermac. What the hell?

Jade. Because fuck Skarlet.

It's baffling to me that you can take an interesting concept like hers and still end up with a boring, generic, vaguely asian-esque character. She's got a completely unremarkable design/story and her fighting style is only half as interesting as it could have been. Skarlet, please pack your knives and go. You taste terrible.

Jade doesn't have much more going for her in the originality department either and has never quite had a satisfying story, but I've always liked her weapons (I also have particular hatred for Skarlet's weapon of choice) and her looks... Also, the projectile dodge is one of my favorite moves.

I could care less what any tier list says.

Jade is one of the best fighters in that game. Hell, she was one of the best fighters in UMK3.
