I vote for Johnny Cage.
Cage: Comic relief, fun gameplay, I just can't stand the games without him, and overall he beat Jade, so I have more respect for him.
Raiden: Gameplay sucks, he made cyber sub-zero (which died along with half the cast because raiden killed motaro), and he killed electrofried Liu Kang.

that's funny, imo...
Cage: some funny one liners, but more annoying than anything else. I really don't notice when he's not in a game (I just realized he wasn't in MKvDC lol, didn't even think about him). And he beat Jade, which I don't really care, but I voted for Jade, whose sass is more preferred than Johnny's not-funny humor :-/

I would like to point out Raiden killed Motaro to save Johnny Cage. Seen here.

I dont understand why a lot of you say raiden has bad gameplay. He is the only one you can double flawless shao kahn with, has the best teleport, one of the best power moves in superman and useful combos.
Cage I voted for him against jade but imagine beating shao kahn with cage specially in expert mode.
Plus if you were raiden and you were to battle shinnok and his minions I dont think cage and sonya would be your first choices.

Them dying isn't anything new to me. Actually I think it'd be more of a twist if they stayed alive. Am I the only one who finds the death of the several characters both entertaining and interesting?

I agree with you on the death thing oracle.
Between the heroes all dying in Deadly Alliance, then everyone dying in Armageddon, and everyone now dying in MK9 I would be absolutely shocked if someone lived honestly.
Enough with character death. It's more shocking when you don't do it oh I don't know every game. The sad thing is they don't even kill one or two they kill whole casts and then bring them back. I mean what the hell? It would be much more interesting if one or two just died and stayed dead.
Like Nightwolf and Sindel in this game. They would have been the perfect people to just die and stay dead. They would have went out in their prime and looked like bosses doing so, and everyone would have a good memory of them and then just offer them as DLC in future games.
The thing is you can't do that with all of the characters they killed in this game. I mean it was a friggin masacre, and that happens on a regular basis now. Stop with the death NRS it's not really so much shocking as it is annoying now, IMO.

Agreed. And if they do kill half the cast, it shouldn't be in ten seconds.
I mean seriously.

I agree with you, what is NRS going to do now that most of main cast *including my favorites (besides Skarlet) Kitana & Smoke* are dead. Even frigging Liu Kang & Kung Lao are dead! What are they going to do? Make someone like Kai the main hero or what make Johnny or Sonya the main hero since they survived the MK9 Massacre? They dug themselves a big hole on this one.

A master always whips his dummy
I don't really think they've dug themselves a hole but it's not interesting having a cast full of Scorpions/Noob Saibots around. Quan Chi already has plenty of slaves he didn't need more lol. Also how exactly did he take their souls? Can Quan Chi just take the souls of anyone who dies all willy nilly.

Nobody stays dead in MK. You all know this. It's not surprising they "kill" off characters. It's not surprising they bring them back. It would only be a "surprise" if some of the actual "killed" off characters actually remained dead and never returned.
They've already introduced different timelines/time travel, so all they'll do is have Raiden (or somebody else) mess with time again...and again...and again. You really think they'd kill off Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Liu Kang etc.? No. They'll all be back, probably in the next installment, and the story behind it will most likely be eye-roll worthy.
I voted for Cage. Just had more fun playing as him. Plus, while I can accept Raiden making mistakes as a fallible character, I can't get over how much of an idiot he was while he was making them. I preferred Mileena's infant mind to Raiden's sheer stupidity.

I remember Ed Boon saying something about creating a whole array of new characters to replace the old ones for the next MK game.
I believe he said there will be at least 10 new characters.
I'm down for it, as long as each character is well recognized and it follows the story well.

I'm not. They do that a lot. Drop characters to make room for far too many new ones and then when the next game rolls around less than half of the new characters are back. They need a stable roster of fighters. Now we already know that a lot of the MK4 characters exist. Bring them in the next game and then after that maybe one or two new characters. That's part of the problem in imo. They need to learn how to create drama without killing off half the cast every game.Nobody stays dead in MK. You all know this. It's not surprising they "kill" off characters. It's not surprising they bring them back.

Exactly. I'm worried about this "new" characters because the last time they did this, Deadly Alliance & Deception, most of the new characters were just ripoffs of other characters & nobody really ends up caring about them. I just hope NRS does this right if they do it.
Kira and Kobra sucked as new characters because they were kano/sonya/johnny cage rip offs.
I dont mind new characters, but don't let them borrow moves from older popular characters because that will have a negative effect on their own popularity.
Also we already have new characters like shujinko, Havik(one of my favorites of the 3d era), darrius, boi raicho, nitara, ashrah, and more. Why not focus more on their devolopement

I laughed when I read about adding 10 extra characters. MK has enough characters who are underdeveloped, we don't need 10 more characters right now.
I could see adding like 2 new characters, but 10? That's outrageous. They can bring back Sub-Zero, but not Stryker? Because god KNOWS Sub-Zero will come back.

:(
Why introduce 10 new characters when they could move the story along with Raiden's knowledge of the future? Obviously that didn't work out well for him this game, but what if he warned Boi Raicho and Shujinko about Onaga. Or wake Taven up. Or keep Daegon asleep? Naturally that would mess with a lot of things, especially some of my favorite character's stories from DA, but they could mix things up.
I dunno what they're gonna do, but there's so many possibilities that I'd hate to see them bring in a hole group a new characters when all of their old '3d new characters' have potential.
Anyway I hope Cage can catch back up and win this round .
Deagon is already awoke. I think he was awoke prior to mk:mythologies, but I know for sure pre MK1.
Yet it would be cool to if Raiden awaken Taven before MK:A although I think some higher up Edenians would disagree with that action.
Maybe the fans should determine the story since the story writers at NRS keep screwing things up
