Voted Ermac. I wanted Smoke's stupid ass out a long time ago starting from round one. Plus, Ermac beat Baraka, so I need this red dude to get to the top. C'mon you mythical, mummy bastard.

I vote Smoke. Never was huge into Ermac, he was cool in Deception but his presence in MK9 felt very forced and over-hyped.

Voted for Smoke. While I like Ermac, he can't hold a torch (in my book that is) to Smoke.

Just out of curiousity, but where did you read / hear this? I'm kinda surprised that he'd be throwing out a number for the amount of new characters that will be in the next MK game when he's probably been neck deep in Injustice for quite some time.
I do recall him saying in an interview before MKvsDC was announced that he wanted to wipe the slate clean in the next MK game and bring in a completely new cast. But I don't thnk that's what your'e talking about here.

I remember Ed Boon saying something about creating a whole array of new characters to replace the old ones for the next MK game.
I believe he said there will be at least 10 new characters.
I'm down for it, as long as each character is well recognized and it follows the story well.

I honestly don't remember what video I was watching, but I do believe it was related to MK2011.
I just remember the interviewer asking about the next MK game, and Ed Boon mentioned a new roster.
I would recommend you take this with about three or four grains of salt, 'cause I can't remember much. But if I am right, I'm still down. Hopefully we get at least three new females in MK10.

I know Smoke gained a lot of new fans in the last game but I had no idea he'd make it this far, let alone actually beating Ermac.
As much as I am a fan of Ermac and love that he made it this far, I'm of course going Smoke. They expanded on Smoke's character so much in MK9 and made him much more of an interesting character, kind of like what they did with Ermac in Deception.
And honestly, I would love the final big match to be Sub-Zero vs. Smoke. Lin Kuei No-Holds-Barr BEATDOWN!

After Rain it's totally Ermac for me!! Smoke I can take or leave. Never over impressed!
Ermac.
While NRS made everything possible to redeem Smoke after all atrocities that were done with his character in the past, he still isn't on the Ermac's level of awesomeness. However, he came very close. The only thing that he is lacking by now, is an awesome costume.

Wow, I wasn't expecting Ermac to be beating Smoke when I woke up this morning.
Huh.
Pleasant surprise. :P
This vote is terrible, though, I like both of them a lot and I'll be upset if either of them lose.

I obviously vote Smoke
Who is Ermac5? That's my boy! I hated fighting him on UMK3 online. I freakin' loved how is character has grown. His new custom was the shizzle in MK:D. His history is kind of cool like Noob saibot's and Reptile's. Glad his teleport isn't completely borrowed from scropion like in UMK3. He became my very first main in MK9 (my friends hated ermac's combos with a passion). I loved his alt costume in MK9, too. He is easily my favorite, 3rd to kui liang and Bi Han.
Smoke? I like the guy. I'm glad that he is finally human again, even tho I enjoyed robot smoke too. His character has grown too. Like ermac, his teleport was borrowed from Scorpion in UMK3, but in MK9 he does it in his own way. We will always love smoke because of his tragedy that happened after MK2, when he was a hidden unplayable character. Yet he doesn't weigh up to Ermac imo...l
I am crazy about all MK ninjas:Male, Female, and Cyber. Out of these two, I will sadly have to pic King Jerrod and the gang....

They gave Smoke the boost he needed in this game but, been an Ermac fan since the malfunction in MK1-MK3. Plus, idk how they did it but, they managed to make Ermac even better still, than his MKDA-A appearances.

I remember Boon being interviewed at E3 on G4 last year, and they took questions from the fans.
One question was:
Hey Boon just wondering what's going to happen in the next game because *Spoiler Alert* all of the heroes died? (That's exactly what the question was)
He then replied that we will be seeing the heroes again in the next game, and not to worry.
Now whether or not that means Zombie slaves or playable characters is another story. I'm going with the former unfortunately.

Because I never really liked him. He was cool in MK:D but that was about it. He looks flat out stupid in MK9 IMO. His moves are garbage, and he just irritates me.
...I hope in MK10 he reunites with Noob so he can be cool again.
