I'm sorry but what dramatic character evolution did Cage go through from his first fight with Baraka and Reptile to his surviving Sindel's slaughter?

MK Online have to step in on this one, there is no way in hell Jade has a bigger fan base than Johnny Cage and I'm not just saying cos he's my favourite as he isn't, but it's painfully obvious that there is a member that has created several accounts to sway the votes for Jade. it was obvious with Milleena and even more confirmed now, there are many reasons such as lots more members all of a sudden, the fact that we have a member who it clearly means alot for Jade to get ahead by even having a 'vote Jade' sig as well as being overly active during this voting process, Scorpion loosing can be understood due to people rebelling against being fed up of having him forced upon them all of the time, this Jade voting is being manipulated.
MK Online is becoming a joke, some of the people voting for who is more sexy- is shallow and makes you look bad, if MK Online doesn't do something about the Jade fan cheating the vote system then I will have no part in MK Online or will be helping support MK Online anymore.

If Cage lost it would be the biggest upset of all. Cage was truly the star of Story Mode. They really nailed his personality.

While I respect Jade, she felt pale in Story Mode. As if something were missing. Her chapter was kind of boring and forgettable. Nevertheless, props to Jade if she wins.

Sorry, Cage was terrible in story mode. Bad lines, bad jokes, etc... Let's not pretend otherwise. I'm not saying Jade was amazing, but she never made me roll my eyes. Smoke did, though, when he attacked her. That was dumb.

I think it's fantastic that they are 50/50 right now. It breathes a little excitement into a round I thought was definitely going to be disappointing.

I'd rather Jade win.

Cage may have outshined her in MK2011'S story mode, but overall Jade is still a major figure in the Mortal Kombat story, and Cage is simply the comic relief, as he was in the MK2011 story mode.

What's Jades role being Kitana's slave. Just because Johnny is comic relief doesn't mean he can't progress. As, of Jade I'd call her sub-major when has she ever changed. Just like smoke they haven't made a significant thing happen at all.

Johnny and Sonya after they almost got murdered by Sindel they got up to fight Shao knowing they we're weak. That's why I think Johnny deserves this win. He has potential so does Jade. But, Johnny shows more character.

maybe Jade is more popular that people think lol. Not saying that it's much, but she did win the gaymer's choice poll too not too long ago, I guess her fan base is more silent... and Ninja Mime already said people who make dup accounts will get banned, so that's obviously not what's happening...

As much as Cage irritates me.. against Jade I vote for him. At least like Mileena You either loved him or you hated him.

Everything about Jade in this game from her looks to her story to her moveset was pure 'Meh whatever'. Well there was her ending but I don't count that, because I was like "Who is this more interesting character?".

Ahem...this is just flat out wrong. Jade is not, and never has been, a major figure in MK's story, whereas Cage is one of the main heroes.

I have nothing against Jade. I like Jade, and I don't care who votes for who here. But I do have a problem with people saying stuff that's simply not true and trying to pass it off as fact. Don't try to hide behind "it's just my opinion man!" because that's not what's going on here.

Why can't people just say what they really mean? Why not just say "I like Jade better" and leave it at that? Why is that so hard for people on this site?

I've never been a Cage fan period, yet his moves that he actually did received in MK9 fit him well, he still wasn't complete without the shadow uppercut or at least the crappy MKDA verion of his uppercut. I absolutely loved Jade's moveset for MK9 and wouldn't change a thing about it; plus that ending of Jade's has to mean something for our MK future or was by far the most wild/cannon ending I've ever seen on ANY video game period, and I don't see it being like that and/or forgotten. I've used Jade way more in MK9 alone than I EVER have with Johnny Cage in all games he's been totaled up. I completely HATED, HATED, and again HATED BOTH of Cage's fatalities in MK9 and his MKDA one wasn't any freakin better LOL (brain rip - how cheesy it was!!!), C'MON decapitating the already dead and even worst split someone's head in half and put an oscar in it WTF, that was a total Fatality-waist and possibly tied Quan Chi's MKD Neck Stretcher Fatality as 1 of the WORST Fatalities 2-date; POOR TASTE! Jade's on the other hand along with her MKD fatalities and even her classic UMK3 ones beat Cage's without a thought!!!

I do believe she deserves to be exactly where she is on this poll, and I doubt anyone is cheating just cause u'r character didn't make it and he's practically being forced into Liu's old spot storywise by Raiden. I feel NO remorse at all, he for sure shouldn't be the new Chosen One, lol!!!

I remember having this conversation with people years ago. Just because someone makes a lot of appearances doesn't mean they're a main character. Cage most definitely is a major supporting character but he's hardly the Liu Kang or Raiden of the story. His role is to be funny and support Liu Kang, outside of the unfinished MKA bios Johnny's biggest role in the story was the first MK movie.

Jade is a major supporting characters as well. The Kung Lao to Kitana's Liu Kang in a way. She doesn't have a major roll in the games except for maybe MKD. Both are popular characters but the story can and has continued without both of them.

You guys need to get it around your head that just because a character doesn't have a rabid insane fanbase that the fanbase is small. Jade fans are obviously just chill and don't stress the small stuff.

Johnny is as he's always been. A sidekick that's funny in a corny way.

Also I think you guys are forgetting that people are usually fans of Kitana/Mileena/Jade together. When it comes to pitting one against each other sides are taken but for the most part I'd say that Kitana/Mileena/Jade fans outnumber Cage fans. So of course Jade's numbers would be big.

Jade and Smoke both debuted at the same time in MKII in the Living Forest before making playable appearances in MK3 and then disappearing for years before turning up again in MKD.

Actually Noob Saibot as well. The only difference is that he made a playable appearance in the comparatively unpopular MK4.

Saying Jade is just a woman with a pole is like saying Kitana is just a woman with fans, Smoke is just a man with smoke about him, Kabal is just a man with hookswords etc.

There is more to her than JUST that, and to say there isn't is ignorancy.

here's a short summary of Jade's story:

Jade is an Edenian woman, an offering from her parents to Shao Kahn to show allegience to him. She was trained alongside Kitana and the two of them grew up together. They became best of friends, and to show his appreciation of Jade's skills and loyalty, she became Kitana's bodyguard as well.

Jade is like a sister to Kitana, trying to guide her on the right path, or rather, what they are lead to believe is the right path throughout all their lives by Shao Kahn. When Kitana starts to doubt herself and the emperor, Jade tries to convince her that she shouldn't defy her father's orders, but because Kitana is determined, she defeats her best friend in order to uncover the truth. When confronting Shao Kahn with what she discovers, about Shang Tsung's creation in the Flesh Pits, Kitana is told the truth about her past, about her real father, and Jade sees all of this. She decides to stay loyal to her friend and attempts to free Kitana, meeting Baraka blocking her path where she shows her sassy side, knowing she is superiour to him and mocks him for his lack of intelligence and blind loyalty to the emperor.

All this shows that she is a loyal woman, a good friend and a strong, confident woman.

So no, Jade is not just a woman with a pole...

Nah, there's no reason to get angry at people not recognizing Jade for what she is or even hating on her. In the end, she's just a character in a game. I know how I feel about her and that's more important than what anyone else thinks about her.

I'm just surprised she is so close to Johnny Cage at this point. I thought she would lose big this time.
