Used to like Shao Kahn before MK9. Though it was never seen, it was always implied that he at least loved Kitana as his own daughter and was always hesistant at the thought of having to punish her (but he knew if he had too, he would do it). Like I've stated before, I think the shows, comicbooks, and perhaps the web series got it right by at least showing Shao Kahn with some affection towards his daughter.
But now in MK9, she does one wrong thing and he has her to be killed, with no remorse. I mean really?!? How 1-dimensional can a character get? I just don't like purely evil Shao Kahn. That gets boring. Yeah I know Ithat Kitana has the helpless princess thing going on, but at least she has more than that. She feels at least a bit more real than HULK SMASH Shao Kahn!
Anyways rant over, GO EDENIAN PRINCESS! Kick the crap out of your stepdad!

You could say that about scorpion all you want,but his revenge was only in MK1,MK2,MK4,MKDA,and his armageddon ending.His UMK3 story was him making amends for killing the first sub by protecting the new sub-zero.He was recruited by the outworld forces,but when he realized sub was fighting for earthrealm,they banded together and killed shao kahn(non canon).His other stories were all wrap around something about the elder gods.But they could have been better done,sure.Also who would want to work with hanzo anyway? He's a good character,but he doesn't exactly have a look that says"friendly" i think that's why no one's really teamed up with him,unlike subbie.Also @ AjBlue,exactly i don't get why we're all fine with scorp losing and sub winning.That's why i went all crazy and got pissed. Hypocrites.

Sorry! I wasn't speaking ill of Quan Chi. I actually like him a lot, and I thought that others did too, which is why it was so surprising that he he got thoroughly waxed by Sub Zero the way that he did.
I mean, when Scorpion was getting his can kicked by Noob, everyone was talking about how they didn't want a Scorpion/Sub-Zero final and how long time fans are sick of seeing Scorpion all over everything etc, but every argument against Scorpion that I heard could also be applied to Sub Zero.

While I disagree with the idea that a lot of people hate Quan Chi, I do think that some took issue with him being in a game that focused on a time before he was actually introduced in to MK. I get that.
I also get that a lot of people hate how Scorpion's story has really failed to advance over time, while Sub-Zero's has evolved over time. I mean, he got his own side story, after all.
But man, is that really enough to create such a huge difference between Scorpion / Noob and Sub Zero / Quan Chi? Apparently it is. I'm just surprised that so many people picked Noob over Scorpion while then picking Sub Zero over Quan Chi.
Story's only one factor, and while people might like Noob a lot and might like what he's become over the years, I wouldn't have thought that it would produce so MUCH more positive feelings for him versus one of the coolest villains this series has ever seen in Quan Chi.
Oh well, to each, his own, I guess!

He lost. Get over it. My favourite characters, Mileena and Reptile, have also lost. I didn't spend 4 days complaining about it though. However I did read your post and I've two things to address you on.
The first is that in 20 years, Scorpion has had a revenge motive in MK1, MK2, MK4, MKDA, MK:A, MK:SM, and MK9. That's 7 out of 11 Mortal Kombat games where Scorpion has had a vendetta plot whilst other characters like Kitana, Sonya, Kung Lao or even Sub-Zero's have consistently changed with each game.
His revenge plot shifted from Sub-Zero to Quan Chi to the Elder Gods (and in Shaolin Monks, he randomly hated Liu Kang and Kung Lao), with no ultimate conclusion, no resolve, no redemption, nothing. The only thing Hanzo Hasashi ever managed to achieve since becoming "Scorpion" was successfully murdering Bi Han. Other than that, he's accomplished nothing in the story within 20 years. Holding on to his decision in MK3 to protect Sub-Zero as a sign of character progression is completely invalid considering in the very next fucking game Quan Chi duped him into going after him again.
Second, you've said his stories were all wrapped around the Elder Gods. Ehm, no, they weren't. Only one of his stories in the series ever revolved the Elder Gods and that was in Deception. Even when he was made into the Elder Gods Champion in MK:D, he didn't even manage to stop Onaga, because Shujinko and Nightwolf got there before him.
Fact of the matter is, he is stale. It's one thing if you're prepared to defend his play style, or his appearance, or even if you were to just say "He's always held a place in my heart since the moment I played as him in MK1 and brings back good memories" and vote for him on nostalgic reasons, but it's completely futile trying to defend that character's story because his story never amounted to anything. Even characters like Jade or Noob Saibot accomplished more within 19 years than he ever did, and with arguably less game appearances.
He's your favourite character. He lost. You're pissed off. We get it. But for the love of god just move on, with the way you're behaving you're almost starting to remind me of him now at this point.
