Kitana.

I am not big fan of her, but on the other hand I am not fan of Darrius at all. He was a waste of the character. Essentially his storyline should have been given to some secondary background character, but instead he, for some reason, was elevated to the position of one of the playable characters. He should have been stayed as Red Dragon operative...or not appear in the game at all. His design is nice, but moves doesn't look very interesting.

Kitana have nice moves, consistently good gameplay, though her designs in the last game were quite horrible. And even then she is much better than Darrius will ever be.

Personally really liked Darrius in deception, Kitana has become lackluster in the recent titles for me.. there is something about her not being done right.

Voted for Darrius because of his tie in with order vs chaos storyline

(I think deception had the best roster from the previous gen games) (meaning the 3D ones before 360 etc) it just felt really awesome with a some characters returning unexpectantly and the major character changes and roster additions... unfortunatly it did leave characters like Darrius not fleshed out enough

Darrius COULD be a really cool character. I love those gauntlets he has and his moveset isn't half bad, but his outfit and his role in the games have been severely lacking. He was just kinda there with no real purpose and with no spotlight. Hopefully we will see more of him in the next game and hopefully he will look cooler than a Morpheus/Blade clone.

Kitana on the other hand have always been a great character, even with the new game's rewritten lore about her and Mileena. The only thing I don't like is that she is often presented as a damsel in distress when she in fact is one of the deadliest assassins in MK history. And without her, Jade wouldn't be created, so therefore my vote goes to her.

i pretty much know the winners list. and so far every one i have predicted have won. even lee mei or what ever her name is.

out of all the people that are going to win im happy for them. but allas baraka is going to loose saddly unless you guys vote for him but i dont see that happening

Khameleon VS Baraka? Though I like Khammy, Baraka is getting my vote on that battle. He's just cooler all around while Khameleon still needs some originality.

Darrius was so boring and stands NO CHANCE in hell against Princess Kitana, LOL, that weak pathetic fool, I can see her making it very far in this based on her gameplay/moves/weapon of choice is tied for most MK-iconic with Kung Lao and Scorpion/storywise/spin-off stories tied-n-2-her/seriously bi-polar mother/she's the road-runner compared to the poor ole coyote that never gets her (Mileena - which I hope one day unites with Kitana instead of trying to de-thrown her, it's getting old, especially since Skarlet has now entered as yet another creation of Shang Tsung like she's the ultimate of what Mileena was SUPPOSED to be, I see a new jealousy streak coming onto Mileena).

Just to clarify, I bet every single one of us is going to lost a favourite in the First round and theres going to be match ups where we wish both could go through!

I'm feeling this about my wee babe Havik, who will likely lose to Noob (another favorite) , J-R is likely feeling this way towards the Skarlet/Jade match up, but this is just how the cookie crumbles people, I mean say this outloud "OMG more people like popular characters than unpopular characters" sounds strange doesnt it?

I want to say thanks to MKO for doing this, They've been doing a great job of keepin the site fresh during times were there is no "Real" news for us to discuss!

Oh Definitely KItana gets my vote. But I hope to see Darrius and Li Mei in Future Games.

I might like Skarlet, but Jade... Come on, it's JADE! Of course I am going to vote for her. So yeah, too bad that Skarlet may get the chance to be kicked out early on, but at least she gets kicked out by Jade which is an honour in itself.

Should it occur that Jade loses to Skarlet, then I would find it cool that Skarlet has already gained so much recognition and I will support that after the two of them had their battle. Of course it would be a small pinch to my fanboy pride if Jade loses, but I'll get over it. ;P

I can't predict Jade losing to Skarlet though. Jade's been around a lot longer and at the very least has a catalogue of interesting fatalities and outfits to appeal to all sorts. Skarlet on the other hand is relatively well recieved on her first game but has no real backstory or prominent costume. Jade has that one in the bag, but I'm still gonna vote for Skarlet.

I don't think too many characters can. In any case, I hope Tanya makes it far, though I doubt it.

I have six favorites, for example and I pretty sure that none of them will last till the final round. But well...it will be interesting to watch.

I like the pictures they are well done

though i find the match ups way too unfair, I was at least hoping that Onaga was going to fight Shujinko since they were next to eachother but NOPE Onaga gets owned by Fujin and Shujinko gets owned by Raiden very lame.

i would have liked to see some unpopular characters fight other unpopualar characters once in a while, because it is very clear whos going to be winning round 1 fights.

anyways it will still be interesting i like the idea but i think i should have been set up a little better I vote Kitana yet Darrius has potential i like the whole terrorist thing

I have to 100% agree, we're going to watch our favorites get plucked one-by-one regardless, in hopes that the final standing is our favorite. Kitana will ALWAYS be my favorite, she's what got me more interested in this amazing game when MK2 came out, making me forget about poor ole Sonya Blade. Next for me is Noob Saibot, which they made a MASTERPIECE out of him in MK9, between his most-gruesome fatalities and his newer clone moves I couldn't ask for anything else from him. Reptile, Kung Lao, Baraka, and Rain are my next favorites, Rain only entering this quote based on his MKA/MK9 forms. Wow, I forgot my favorite movie-icon/horror-icon can now be included, dammit he's now bumped to my second pick under Kitana, sorry Nooby u'r now 3rd on my list.

LOLOLOL, Darrius can't even make a 10% he sux so terribly!!! I don't care if Kitana is up against Scorpion/Sub Zero/Shao Khan; I automatically will pick her, she's finally adapting newer moves and finish moves yet still maintains her original feel even without her infamous Kiss of Death missing in MK9 which should still be added as DLC, IMO. Yet I can't say the same for Mileena, because she's just like Guile in SF they never seem to gain any new moves or anything unique, except for her new bite move which is a bit funky but does fit her.
