Sareena.

I always hated Dairou with a passion. His story was unimportant and he didn't contributed anything to the MKD arc. His design was slightly random and not memorable at all. His gameplay was uninteresting (and broken). His specials were strange - one was more or less stolen form Jarek and the other didn't make sense - projectile from leg? WTF?

Sareena on the other hand - an interesting character with ties to the Sub-Zero brothers and Quan Chi. If used right, she could become quite important character in the struggle against the ever trolling Necromancer. Her status as romantic interest to Sub-Zero(s) (if it be used in new continuty) could potentially lead to interesting conflict. Her design needs slight improvement and elaboration, but overall she is very nice as she is. I hope that, if she appear in future MK games she will have Fatality in which she will transform into her demon form.

Also, I am slightly bugged that Sub-Zero was included into poll in him human form. But I think in the end it doesn't make much difference and besides some characters use renders from MK4, so not big deal.

It seems that certain characters are being put up against obviously more popular characters, just so they can get booted out.

Now, Khameleon vs Chameleon was okay, but Sub-Zero vs Deagon? That was completely one-sided. Sub-Zero would obviously win.

Frost vs Taven? Really? From what I've seen, most people hate Taven with a passion.

Sareena vs Dairou? Another one-sided battle; most characters introduced in Deception are crap, a known fact there.

I don't know. I would think that Jade would pretty easily beat Skarlet. I also think that Kenshi will beat Nightwolf but I could be wrong there. Your right some of these will be tough though.

I'm telling you guys the first round is really just to weed out the scrubs. That's how I would have set it up too.

Those "scrubs" are loved characters by some people, so it is quite unfair towards those who like them to just "weed them out", simply because they might not be the most popular of characters. At least they should have been given a fighting chance.

Ehhh I always forget Sareena. She wasnet playable until Armaggedon.
But she did side with Elder Sub-zero

Most characters introduced in Deception were crap. Dairou is no exception.

I should have used a better word besides scrubs. That was douchey of me.

However, you get the point. Not everyone can win. People are going to get cut. It would also be unfair to get rid of the most popular characters by placing them all against one another in the first round.

I mean I'm sorry but if the ending somehow got down to Dairou and Darrius or something that wouldn't be interesting. That's why I say they had to place some of the more unpopular characters against the popular characters to get rid of some of the more unpopular ones. That way they can get to the meat of the competition.

I love Li Mei. She is in my tops for the next generation, but I'm being realistic she's probably going to lose to Quan Chi. I'm not going to get mad at that though.

I also really like Mavado, but when it comes to him versus Kabal I'm pretty sure I know who will win that one too. Basically, this is a popularity contest more than anything. It doesn't mean anything in the long run so just have fun with it.

Wrong. Li Mei defeated Moloch and Drahmin while adventuring through the Living Forest, and Shang Tsung and Quan Chi during the tournament. Did you also know that Scorpion couldn't defeat Moloch and Drahmin and Liu Kang couldn't defeat Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Li mei is powerful than both of them. Li Mei gets my vote.
