No, someone that attended PAX already explained the throw cancels for this game, in this thread.
There are 2 throws for each character in the game, a forward and a back throw.
Who ever explained the throw cancels said something like to cancel a forward throw it was F + X, and to cancel a back throw it was B + Y (PS3 controller obviously) or something very close to that, go through the pages.

yeah cancling the throws are back, which are good imo, just wonder if you have to press the throw button to get out of it.

Cyrax exploding teleport!!! Also he shoots out a buzz saw out of his chest looks awesome. Scorpion looks like a powerhouse. Also apparently you can block throws at about 1:53 in the tag team scorpion/cyrax vs. nightwolf/sub zero scorpion trys to throw nightwolf but nightwolf throws him off. Also watching the fight Scorpion's backflip kick would rock hopefully they'll put it in along with a toasty fatality

Meant Triangle.

IMO Cyrax should not spark. I know he is a cyborg but sparks make it seem like he is just a put together rusty old robot. maybe he needs some oil

Yeah but no Y, both the Xbox and Playstation have an x button, so i thought he ment the xbox instead of the playstation. Simple mistake. Ohwell

The one thing I am not seeing in all this footage, is running. Which really sucks. Have they not implemented the run feature yet or something? Cause I really don't like how the characters have to shuffle and dash forward and back just to get from point a to point b, or how when Sub-Zero freezes his opponent, he has to flip and jump across the stage just to approach his adversary in time to hit them before they unfreeze. I hope this is remedied.

Boon already confirmed there would be no run feature. Dashes have replaced it for this game.

Really?! Dash has replaced run? Ugh, how fuckin lame. It looks kind of retarded for characters to be spontaneously jerking forward and backward across the screen.

How far can character get away from each other? Do you know?

Not 100% on the details. Speed and distance will probably vary among characters.

Was the run feature in UMK3 broken? Sometimes it felt like it to me, when characters like Jade would advance on you with a run, and then combo from it. But I wonder, if they were to slow it down a bit for this game, if it would work?
Thanks Temp, no problem.

They should just do a continuous dash if you hold it for ~2 seconds, and have dashing attacks and stuff that differ for how long you hold it, like Tekken.

I'll always remember hearing Boon saying this is the fastest MK that's ever been made and one of the fastest fighters made.
I can't see how thats possible without the Run button. It's one of the things that made MK3 so fucking fast and awesome.
I really wish they brought it back. I suppose we'll be getting an MK2 feel to this game rather than MK3. Hopefully the one after this they will make it faster.

I can't see how that would work. If you're sitting there holding a button for 2secs chances are the opponent will kick your arse in that time.
They've already got enough buttons in the game, there's no need to add another esp as the F,F motion is almost universal in most other fighters.
The game is looking good. Although i'm not a fan of Kitana's new fan throw, but her throws look really nice. Also good to see she has quite a few slash/attack moves with her fans.

I think he made like one post right when PAX started, but it didn't say if he went or not so your guess is as good as mine???
