oh... my.... elder gods..... I just played with Tanya and come to post this in shock
49% damage.... need I say more???
OK I just played with Tanya for the first time in this game. I was kicking ass with her hand to hand style and was like, "Wow... Tanya seems to be pretty nice in this game. Better than what I remember of her in Deception.". So I kept on whooping ass in that style all the way up to Sheeva, right before Goro, and then Blaze. While fighting Sheeva I realized I'd yet to play with her weapon. So I switch to her weapon and look at the move list real quick. As I look through I see it seems to have all the same moves Stryker has with his Nightsticks, so I was thinking, "OK not all too bad weapon, but nothing amazing.". I resume my fight with Sheeva and she is in her weapon stance. I do the b+2,1,1,u+1.... As far as I can tell she has same moves in it as Stryker, but does way the f*** more damage!!!!!! I mean 49%? This was when Sheeva was in her weapon stance, and after doing that combo once the fight was done lol. So I don't know how much damage it does if they are in hand to hand. Nonetheless, this is amazing ammount of damage.
OK so yeah I'm now in love with Tanya! I was dissapointed with Jade in this game cuz they made her weaker and I can't play with her like I did in Deception wich I really like her in that game. At the moment I'm thinking I may not have Jade as one of my main characters, even though I still like her character a lot. However I know I'll be having her rival, Tanya as one of my main characters now :) Seriously .... oh wtf... MKA just froze.... anyways.... oh wait... wtf???.... it just started back up .... weird.... Anyways seriously I'm thinking Tanya will be top tier! Maybe I'm just saying that because I'm still in shock. I dunno... But omeg's!
I liked Tanya in Deception as well, but didn't play with her a great deal because she didn't seem actually all that great to me. She seems way the hell kickass in this game. I think Ed Boon maybe bias??? Or maybe his sister was getting pissed off that her character wasn't major kickass??? lol..... Wich actually brings me to ask... Why would Ed let Noob be like one of the worst?? Any character I'd name after myself I'd make sure was atleast one of the better characters, if not one of the best in the game.
Anyways yeah Tanya is awsome

Damage alone does not make you high on the tier list...look at Jade in MKD. Being able to set up that damage safely would need to be established. So far the only move for that is yuechuah d4 and even then the kobujutsu b2 move hits high. It is very useful now due to parries though.
I agree, Tanya is good and one of my mains.
I agree, Tanya is good and one of my mains.
Moloch is definitly the top character in the game.
Dave calls him God tier, but i wouldnt call him that. when i think of god tier i think of dairou and bo from MKD, but moloch is the best so far.
dave must have been raping a bunch of guys, when ever i touched moloch my foe's quit LOL
Good job BOON you fucking douche bag!!
id like to meet the folks that "tested" this game to make it balenced, they really need to get a huge slap across the head

I know damage alone doesn't mean top tier....
Anyways I just spent some good time testing Tanya.
b+2,1,1,u+1 = against hand to hand 42%, against weapon 49%.
Juggle combo:
b+2,b+1*juggle* b+2,1,1,u+1 = against hand to hand 47% with7/8 of the hits. 50% if get all 8 hits. (though it is really hard to get all the hits) Against weapon it does 55% with 7hits. Don't know how much with all 8hits, but guessing like 58%.
I know damage alone doesn't make a character top tier, but you can't deny that it sure helps a whole hell of alot! And Tanya has got the damage no doubt!
b+2 does hit high sadly so it can be ducked with f**ks up the who combo. Without the first b+2 you don't do nearly the same ammount of damage, but still not that bad damage. b+1 does hit mid so there is still a mixup game of her low attacks and this mid popup. If just b+1 *juggle* b+2,1,1,u+1 it only does 28% I think it was against hand to hand. Little more if against weapon. That still ain't bad damage there, but still a HUGE difference between getting the first b+2 and not getting it. So it isn't perfect and completely broken! Seriously could any one not say she is a little overpowed? Lol... Would just of been flat out broken imo if b+2 was mid, but I wish it was lol. She would no doubt be top tier if it was no question. Anyways still with b+2 only being high, she has good mid popup that still leads to decent damage, and I don't think her lows are all that bad.
With the mixup and when ever you can get the first b+2 in for the juggle combo for major damage, I'd have to say she seems to be one of the best characters I've played with so far. Just my opinion. Maybe she doesn't have as good of a mixup as I'm thinking, but I would think what she has is good enough.
Not sure about her hand to hand style... I actually wasn't testing that when I was just testing Tanya lol. Well not a great deal, but some I did test actually. In her hand to hand style I think best combo I was doing was 1,1,2 *juggle* 3,2,b+1 for like 31% I think it was??? 2 is high for sure. Don't know how safe doing 1,1,2 for that combo was if it is blocked.... She has two good low kicks in d+4 and b+4. Don't know what mids there are. I hadn't tested this style a great deal just yet. Guess I should go ahead and do so now.....
In the end, no matter where Tanya ends up in the tier list, it don't matter to me cuz I'll be useing her for sure cuz she is just sooooo damn powerful! I'm still a little shocked I think lol. She must be at the least upper-mid tier when the list is made I would imagine. Seriously when you think about it it isn't like you won't ever be able to do those huge damaging combo's with her against people. I don't think any one blocks every thing all the time.... Just probably don't abuse trying to do the combo and mess with the guy with some lows to throw him off... Oh and ofcourse after a parry
On a different character now... Moloch... Dan??? Moloch the best??? I'm confused??? I've played with Moloch and he don't seem bad, but he didn't seem top tier to me.... So I'm thinking we got way different of opinion on him, or I'm missing some thing.... That unblockable special move of his is nothing really. Not safe to do when up close. Atleast I am able to act on it on reaction and start a combo when ever Moloch tries that move on me upclose. If not upclose, I just jump.... I don't recall his other specials being any thing that great.... Like I said, I'm confused
P.S. I'm sorry for another long post guys! I originally mean to keep it much shorter, but they are just staying long lol.

I see I made an error....
With Tanya hand to hand style 1,1,2 *juggle* 1,1,2 is what does 31%. Finishing it with 3,2,b+1 is like 28% I think.
Went to bed after my post before this one last night. Haven't got back on the game yet. Bout to go test Tanya some more, more so her hand to hand style now.
I wonder.... Did they just miss how powerful Tanya is or some thing? Or was it really intentional? It just seems kinda weird....

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Hsu Hao has a 52% damage combo. If you charge, the combo has the potential to do 72% damage. Other people will probably try to avoid you once you charge but at least the charge can be surely be used on the AI.
How's online play? Are there lots of people using infinites and "cheap" (exploitable) tactics?
Online play determines whether I buy the game or not. I know you guys have found some interesting stuff and I'm eagerly waiting to see what you've got

What combo? How do you do it? I don't recall doing that much damage when I played with him couple days ago. But yeah he is awsome and one of my mains for sure. Anyways how do you do the combo??
As for playing against people and useing the powerup, I think it would still be useful. Just be smart with it and don't be predictable when you do powerup. Don't always just go for the most damaging combo for example as they would probably expect that. I think is used wisely that the powerup can really help in a fight as long as you aren't really impatient in trying to get a combo in and don't be really predictable.
And about Moloch... He has a powerup move? I thought all his tuants were to regain health??? Guess I'll have to check him out again.

No.
I don't even think that Moloch has an "attack boost".
Anyway, the reason why Moloch is so good is obvious: you cannot juggle him,you cannot throw him and you cannot knock him down using any low attack.
To make things worse,Moloch, albeit being a huge character, recovers like an ordinary character. He has moves like 1,1,u+3, 3, and d+1 that recover insanely fast.Plus,he also has that Pound attack, which is unblockable.
Doing 1,1,u+3, and then letting the opponent tech, and then doing the Ground Pound is half life. The Ground Pound hits twice when the opponent is near for easy 20% damage. Also,I think his jumping kick has priority over all non-boss characters.I'm not sure really sure, though.
Just to give you an example of how ridiculous 1,1,u+3 is...

Hell, is that really an infinite, or can it be broken somehow?

Thanks for the vid.
That recovery is horrible. He should be powerful yet slow. He can't do that to other big characters can he? At least he doesn't seem as dominating as BRC or Dariou...yet.

Damn I didn't realize how fast his recovery was with that combo.
Kintaro I think is pretty good as well, but Moloch looking to be better possible just cuz of how fast he recovers. I still have more fun with Kintaro though... But yeah damn that is pretty nice for Moloch.

Wow. Didnt realize Moloch was so overpowered. That is totally ridiculous.
Looks like Moloch will be the new favourite pick for MKA online players (BRC phase for deception all over again?).
Anyways, i'll continue to play as subbie and steer clear of any moloch players from now on.

Damn Kano sucks.... Just played with him.... He has like only a few things good about him.
1. His new charge move hits mid.
2. He is one of the few characters to have a powerup.
3. In his Butterfly Knives he has good air kombat, where he is best at.
Overall he is low tier clearly imo. Maybe low-mid at best, but I'd say low. I really like Kano though so I hate to see him suck.
Well hey here was a short post.....
Actually about Hsu Hao and that one combo... I've done 81% with him with the powerup with that combo whoever it was was talking about. Although it isn't a combo that is sure to work as I believe they can techroll instead of bouncing off the ground to finish the combo.... Not that hard to tech roll either... Still he kicks ass.
Also I was wondering some thing.... Does Sumo with Hsu Hao have a mid hit in his combo's? I can't remember if Sumo does or not... like 1,2,cs is all high isn't it??
Anyways yeah that all I got at the moment

Yeah, Kano is garbage in MKA like he was in MKDA.
As for Hsu Hao, the mids in Sumo are B + 1, 3, 4, and B + 4.

well what u guys think of onaga and the shokans they all have that rediculously stupid boss property. Wouldnt doubt if their just as cheap as moloch. But midway can easily fix this problem and give us a seperate room where it doesnt allow u to pick boss characters (like the no kak room) its a quick easy fix which midway loves to do. if these characters start ruining online play we can easily petition for a seperate room.

I haven't yet played the game, but what are these Boss Qualities? And does Sheeva have them as well?
