The new female tengu is pretty different however she does also have the overly perfect doll face. Mila from Doa5 has freckles however.

I'm the best looking lad here.

NRS must make faces as hot as Red Sonja's face. She was ranked first in Comics Buyer's Guide's "100 Sexiest Women in Comics" list.

The most important thing is that the outfits are practical but match the characters' personalities at the same time. Although my runway (fashion) pictures of the dresses wouldn't be form-fitting for fighting, redesigning the bottom of the costume to panties/knickers would work with the whole top covered up except for slightly showing of breasts, that way it’s still naughty but nice. As they are magnificent royal female warriors they should look high value and not wear such revealing clothes like the girl next door. Less clothing only works for certain situations like sexually charged environment such as strip clubs and nightclubs where it’s OK whatever girls choose to wear. Also it's less likely the wounds/cuts will be seen on flesh if their top is more covered up.

What name calling, rabbit? I didn't call you any names. I said your argument was stupid and it was. What I'm telling you is that they saw him as sexy because they saw him as powerful and strong, whereas men see women sexy for different reasons that are usually (and wrongly) considered negative.
I didn't say that men weren't seen as sexy, or that there were NO instances of them being objectified. However, men do not have a history of being marginalized, being treated unfairly and constantly paraded around for no other purpose than display. Men's body parts are not seen as SOLEY sexual. Also, D'Angelo did not face any negative stigma for his shirtless antics because of reasons mentioned in my previous post.
Of course no one should face any stigma based on how much clothing they choose to wear or not wear, but that isn't the point. These aren't actual people making a choice about what to wear; they're female characters designed by a team of mostly males for the purpose of selling the game to other males, reinforncing a negative view of women.

But how can you know a person’s perspective of someone else for certain? Unless you’re a mind reader, you can’t really back up that argument. And actually, D’Angelo did endure a negative stigma. After putting out that risqué music video, I’ve heard from quite a few people who thought it was trashy. Not to mention there was a bit of homophobia over it within the black community. But hey, if you want to continue believing that men are never objectified and having money thrown at you like a stripper is a sign of empowerment if you’re a man, then enjoy living in that bubble.

Furthermore, you did insult me. You said I was ignorant. And it showed me how much of an ego you have. Because you chose to belittle me and throw disrespectful remarks my way in order to discredit me for not having an opinion in alignment with yours. It’s members like you who are the reason why I left this site 3 years ago. I think it’s unfortunate that nothing has changed since then. We’re done here. Unless you find a better way to address me, I don’t want to hear from you. There’s nothing more you have to say to me.

The dress Kitana wore in the first MK film has always intrigued me. That would make a fine template, imo.

Never understood the fascination with that. It's as plain and boring as it can get. Leather pants and strappy top.

Yes, it might be functional and realistic, but we are talking about a fantasy game here, there's nothing wrong with adding a little imagination. Otherwise everyone would be wearing the same thing.. you know like the army.

I agree that some of the outfits could have been better (no heels on Sonya, less revealing for Kitana etc), but I think they're allowed some creative license.

More than anything, get rid of the the bikini/leotard thing. It's been going on way too long. Add some style and difference to the characters. As mentioned, one thing that was nice about Ashrah was the fact that she looked different compared to all the other female fighters.

I just hope they stop with the deliberate revealing designs. I mean honestly, Sonya's vest had to be custom made. What army hands out vests like that?

Came across this artwork, and it already looks so much better.

Speaking of artwork, I've actually found I liked some fan arts of the MK9 females; even ones that use the same or very similar costumes. The main difference is that they're differently, usually more realistically proportioned than the MK9 models; they don't all have DDD cups, they have decent looking faces (when they're revealed), etc. It's not with every costume, but Kitana's MK9 primary for example looks good if it's done by the right artist.

I think the costumes could definitely be better, but I think the shapes and proportions of the models, and even their in-game movements like fighting stances play a bigger role than I realized before. That would also explain why some of the male characters also look off to me, despite the fact that I really like their costume design.

Oh, and the faces definitely need work. The more I look at Sonya, the more I think "ignore the body and imagine short hair on her; she looks just like a man". Kitana's and Jade's are luckily hidden behind masks most of the time.

As someone that spent six years in the US Army the answer to that is...nobody haha. There is nothing "military" about Sonya's MK9 design at all except for the dog tags. That's actually why I found Johnny Cage recognizing Sonya as being military in the story hilarious; particularly when they show soldiers later in the game and they look nothing like Sonya or Jax.

The thing though as many people have pointed out that the MK special forces are portrayed somewhat like GI Joes. It's a valid point as it's clearly true but they could have at least tried. I mean if they could make Stryker recognizable as a cop they more than certainly could of done the same for Sonya and Jax.

I just have to ask, don't you guys like titties? Do we all need to do a testicle check?

Secondly, has anyone thought "hey that's how Edenia and Outworld people dress"? I think you guys should quit being so nit-picky and enjoy the nice animated titties.

Does anyone complain about Shao Kahn's costume? That guy is wearing much less than the females.

MK females are a turn off. All females faces will look better with a bag over their head. The women in MK look unapproachable, unfriendly, intimidating like this guy here lmao

Please make them more feminine like this.

^^That may be a bit too feminine. So I think they should look like Swedish Girls. The Vikings were badasses, but the Viking women were pretty badass themself.

The reason I never play any of the MK women is because 99% of the time they look like garbage, especially in MK9. Simple uninspired designs making them look like either pornstars or Miss Universe contestants rather than warriors. I mean, Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Skarlet, and Sindel are ALL wearing high heels for fucks sake. Alright, thats how they dress in Edenia and Outworld, sure. But then you have luitenant Sonya Blade in her military outfit also wearing high heels lol. The only female fighter not wearing high heels is Sheeva but her main costume is pure garbage as well. The only costume I like in MK9 is Sheeva's alternate.

I'm not saying none of them should have such designs, but put some more effort into it and be more creative. Don't give them all the same shit; big boobs, mascara, high heels, bathing suits and bikini's. That's the basics for any female MK character and then they start differentiating them based on colour, hairstyle and so forth. It would be nice to see a female fighter not showing cleavage and wearing a decent martial arts uniform.

I'm having to restrain myself from saying what I really want to say, because I found this post so egregiously ignorant. This sort of mentality is everything that is wrong with our gender and is precisely why all the points made here about the design choices are correct. Let me just put it this way: just because you're a misogynist doesn't mean every man is, and your presumption that any male who isn't is somehow less of a man is disgusting.

Am I the only one who thinks that Tanya's outfits should be applied to the other Edenian females? I mean, I don't think I've ever enjoyed Kitana's outfits at all, but I see a presence of elegance with Tanya's. And since I see a lot of you agreeing that characters should wear what they represent, I feel this applies to Kitana. I know some of you said that they liked her last outfit, but I still don't see "princess" from it. I don't even see "assassin" from it either.

Of course there's that guy who has to be PC. Get over yourself dude. Can't you just take things lightly? You find it offensive, I find it funny, that's why I'm happier than you. (Not that I know anything about your happiness but it's a good quote to use on people who are PC advocates.)

No, because he is 1 guy out of over 20 men. You can count the men that are shirtless, or dressed like Shao Kahn on 1 hand. Every other male is mostly covered. And with those men, they also don't focus on their butts or crotches.

Now we have 7 women in the game, and they all are barely dressed. And the only one not wearing any high heels is Sheeva. So we have only a fraction of men shirtless or overly exposed, but on the women's side, everyone is dressed with deliberate designed outfits, that pull the focus to their butts and breasts.
