I hope Rain is playable mostly because of people on other websites forcing shitty memes and talking 24/7 about how annoying/delusional Rain fans were for hoping a MK character would get into a MK game. I don't get people arbitrarily forcing divisions within a fanbase because someone likes a particular character.

I mean dead characters get brought back in the same game they die in and shit, and Rain didn't even bite the dust.

Prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Like I always say, Jade/Smoke/Kabal/Nightwolf/Fujin/Whoever you like, if they're not in this one, they'll be in the next one.

Just figured those might help put into perspective just how much this guy really knows. It appears to me he was likely passed a few screenshots from a friend through a friend, and doesn't actually know anything beyond that. His answers are just a speculatory as ours are. He doesn't even know Liu is playable, and doesn't know that Ed has said he won't make the same people DLC twice.

Not trying to be THAT guy Ankha, you know that, but I just don't want you thinking this dude is an insider that is giving concrete answers that everyone should take as gospel.

A few months ago, I was ready to accept that he wasn't going to be in MKX at all. Then the comic, the story trailer, this de-confirmation, this confirmation, the fake out...I can't even! I just need a straight answer!

Yeah, this dude is really sketch. I'm guessing he got a few legit pics, as stated, and he's milking that attention for all he can. Even asking for subscribers before he'll show any more. Which means he only has so much to show. And he clearly isn't sure about any character being playable or DLC beyond what we all already know. So I would be careful where you place your bets.

On Tanya and Fujin:

Basically, in case you aren't getting the gist of it all...he hasn't confirmed 1 person without a shadow of a doubt. He always says "possibly" "maybe DLC" "I hope" "there may be a chance" "not sure". The only time he has seemed positive, he's also given an answer that shows uncertainty. So yeah, take this all with a grain of salt. People shouldn't play with your emotions like this. IMO, he's using his couple of pics a friend of a friend gave him and is just trying to milk that attention, while filling in the blanks, not realizing he's getting people's hopes up because they think he has more info than he really does. Which is BS.

It takes an awful lot for me to believe a leak. That Mortal Kombat 9 leaked script a week or so before release that was accompanied by a story mode stream is about what it takes for me to fully believe something. Those pics of Jax, Johnny, and Sonya gotta be real but I'm not opposed to them being playable if they are. I'd just need to see footage of them fighting before I believe they are. (But they probably are anyway)

These are definitely real. The info and answers he's giving to people asking about other characters is what is likely just BS to drag out the attention.

It's very clear he was given a couple of pics to leak, and that's all he knows. And now he's dragging it out to increase subscribers.

To follow up on the skepticism...

The Fantim guy asked if everyone was ready for more leaks, after 2 hours of nothing. He ends up "leaking" the kombat kode "020 020 Blocks Disabled", reposts the Jax chest pic, and then says he's going to bed. Ladies and gentlemen...stalling/milking at its best. lol

Then, MKUniverse chimes in again, "answering" roster questions.

On the final roster number:

"I think its 24, but that could change. We'll have to wait and see"

On Rain, again:

"You'll be the first to know. I will also be posting news, etc on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC..."

"Rain is making a comeback and has cool costumes and variations"

"And if he doesn't make it, then I should apologise haha. But I doubt that's the case. I love Rain too" (notice how he says he's in, claims to know what his costumes and variations are, then shows doubt in his own knowledge, but it's ok guys, he'll give you a sorry if he is wrong...)

On Rain possibly being DLC:

"Ed Boon is also Ed Boon, you know, the one who loves to troll people and shit LOL"

"And I also mentioned a week ago that Rain was going to appear in MKX and bam he showed up in the story. So just keep an eye out." (how reassuring, he predicted Rain's inclusion after he showed up in the comics...)

On Liu Kang, again:

"Apparently if you watch the story trailer and listen towards the end of the video you'll hear Liu Kang's voice. Not sure yet."

On Baraka:

"I'm not sure though, maybe as DLC bcoz list is almost full" (another he doesn't know)

Meanwhile he keeps telling you to subscribe to his youtube for more later. Like I said, he knows what is in the couple of pictures he got a hold of, and nothing else. He speculates based on what we all see, and passes it off as fact, but then even shows doubt in it himself. That's as sketchy as it gets. So believe at your own risk.

This Rain stuff is driving me crazy tho, like they already deconfirmed him as DLC awhile ago so he is either on the day one roster or completely out. Like others have said I kinda became content awhile ago and stopped expecting him to make the roster, keeping my hopes to the bare minimum, but fuck now I'm either gonna be massively disappointed or beyond hyped. I hate being in Ed boon's troll pocket like that. If they would just straight up say he's not in the game I could lower my expectations a bit and just be happy to see him playing a role in story mode. As of right now, with the leaked roster in mind, I'm thinkin his chances are 70% non playable and 30% playable. I've been way off on my predictions as of late tho so wtf do I know lol.

Best course of action is to just assume the worst.

Ever since Boon's tweet about Cyrax running late for the bus, I've expected him not to be in the game, but possibly a DLC main contender.

That's why I don't like what this guy on twitter is doing. It's cool that he leaked a couple of pictures, but he clearly has no idea of anything else beyonf what is on those couple of pictures. He's just throwing out predictions at this point, and passing them off as fact. That's incredibly uncool considering people are getting their hopes up based on his predictions, and it just delays the inevitable reality that we likely aren't getting any of them on the roster at launch. He bounces back and forth on things, and is never completely sure of his own words. It doesn't add up. So yeah, not cool at all.

Same here. I might need to check into a psychiatric ward if this continues cause I'm sure it's going to make me unstable. All joking aside, I'm going to celebrate if he's in. Technically speaking, this will be the first time Rain is included into a main roster because Trilogy/Armageddon included all previous characters and was DLC in MK9.

From what i was told regarding the leak:

The source of the leak that had all the new images in it suggested that Rain had variations built into the game. This contradicts an old leak where Rain was only an NPC. This is why they are uncertain about whether he's actually playable.

Could be that I was given bad info, could be that the roster changed, or that the last leak didn't have the full roster. Could be that Rain is DLC despite what Ed said. Regardless, he may or may not be playable, but his chances seem pretty good to me.

I say we have more to go on with Rain than we do with Liu Kang. People thoughtthey saw Liu in the towers but that could have easily been Takeda.

I'm not sure where people are getting "that sounds like Liu Kang" at the end either. Isn't that just Sub-Zero finishing his monologue?
