somebody hold me, i cant handle all this rain speculation loolol and that tweet doesnt say playable though, but i think "return" would be playable since we already have seen rain in MKx lol

What the fuck! Seriously man its like a roller coaster of emotions with this crap. Some guy will say he isn't sure Rain will be in, then the next damn day some random ass dude says Rain looks good with his new variations and costumes. Then later he will say that he might not be playable he's only in story mode. THEN! some other sack of shit on the internet says he gonna make a return!? I cant take it, someone either deconfirm him or confirm him playable so I can go on with my life!

I actually think the UMKuniverse guy is using Rain as "click bait" and is lying about stuff to get people to follow him

Kinda disappointing :/ but I'll just play it safe and say he's not in until further proof.

What if we can fight NPCs with their MK9 movesets? Like you'll fight Rain while he protects Mileena, but he'll have his MK9 moveset and you never unlock him.

I'd like to at least fight him if I can't play as him.

Realistically...

All the signs are pointing to YES for Rain. So I'm just gonna enjoy the enlightened state of being hopeful before that gets crushed and I didn't have a chance to enjoy it at all.

Ends in disappointment? Maybe. But I like this optimism. So onward we go!

Rain must be playable in this game and if you disagree with me all I can say and Cassie Cage says suck on that.

It would make Ed Boon and company look very stupid if Rain is in, since they have mocked him so much in the recent past. I wouldn't mind it at all, that outfit liked great and I guess using water could have potential as a weapon. Just shooting water is stupid though. Using acid rain attacks or water to choke a character would be cool.

This guy is going to get hunted down and chastised by all of us if he ends up being full of shit trying to bait followers (which is the impression I'm getting). But here's hoping for an inch of truth because Rain was fun as shit to play in MK9.

His mastery of rain proved quite useful in the comics(or at least... momentarily).

One of his fatality did include choking in MK9, didn't it? Until he took all that water and forced it inside the body.

I mean, the guy is bragging about being right about J. Cage and Kenshi being playable like the info only came from him yet we've known this for several weeks now without it being 'official.' I just get the feeling this guy is egging us on. Rain may no doubt be in the game, but I wouldn't get any hope from this guy at least, he seems full of shit.

I don't know if that guy is just click baiting with filthy lies but... the same way I knew from the beginning that Kenshi would be playable because Earthrealm needed bodies during the first arc of the game, Kotal squad need someone to punch during their story mode chapters (or anyone that wants to face Mileena's army, you need more bodies appart from Mileena herself), so at least 2 of Rain, Reiko and Baraka should be playable to provide those bodies.

Agreed, the roster is gonna be extremely uneven in that regard if none of Mileena's allies are playable.

That's why I'm convinced there's something missing that we don't know about.

I'm really sure Rain will be playable what with all the circumstantial evidence, but until we see him in action there will always be that fear and doubt.


I also wouldn't want to have to wait until release if he is, meaning I kinda want to at least see him get shown in a trailer or on a stream so I can be hyped about my favorite being in like everyone else- other than having to bite my nails for the next month...just like I did in 2011.

True, imo Mileena should have at least 3 allies in so while Goro and Quan Chi are possibilities, I would love to see Rain & Baraka in because of their affiliation and the latter being my favourite of course.

I keep imagining all the cool promos they've could've done. Like maybe a "Which team are you on?" kinda deal with 3 different wallpapers/posters featuring the 3 different groups in the game. For example-

Poster 1- Kotal Kahn surrounded by D'Vora, Reptile, Ferra/Torr, Ermac, & Erron Black.

Poster 2- Mileena surrounded by Rain, Baraka, Goro, Tanya, & Reiko.


Poster 3- Cassie surrounded by Sonya, Johnny, Takeda, Jaqui, Kung Jin, Kenshi, & Kung-Lao.

Like that would've been pretty epic!

Anyway, Mileena sadly needs some true allies on her side. Here's to hoping there's some characters left that we have no idea about outside of Shinnok/Rain.
