And its not a disappointing roster, its just not the roster you envisioned. I feel your pain, I'd have probably chosen a much different roster myself. That's the curse of being an mk fan. We all have these grand expectations, its no wonder people around here always seem so unhappy.

I just hate how we still get stuck with boring old Johnny Sonya and Jax, Sub-zero, and Liu Kang, when there's a gold mine of personality with characters like Tanya, Reiko, Fujin, Hotaru, Li Mei, and Reiko again (as you can tell I really want Reiko). If people weren't so blinded by nostalgia they would be able to see that the MK4-onward characters had more personality than the originals ever did or will, and the potential is practically endless. But yet the trilogy drones keep wanting the same cardboard bland characters game after game, and they keep whining to Boon until they get their way.

Now us real MK fans who want the series to progress and just wanted a few post MK3 characters that aren't Quan Chi or Kenshi (the most bland of the post MK3 characters) will never get what we want as long as those sheep MK1-3 character-loving "fans" keep nagging. Maybe it's time to hang up my MK fandom for a while and maybe one day I'll see Boon and co shape up and finally give the fans what they want.

Great, maybe NRS would listen like they did with Raingate and actually fix this mess with decent DLC.

It's probably way too far gone now, but months and months back, I had IMed Icebaby about creating an "Official Rant Thread" for MKX. We both felt shitstorms a-brewin', but this wasn't too long after E3 so we wanted to give it some time.

But I see now, either one of us should of hopped on that a while ago. It certainly would have helped with the majority of these useless threads.

Completely agreed on all accounts. I remember reading that post awhile back @friendshipagain about you talking to that dev or whatever and that got my hopes up. Honestly before MKX was announced I considered most of the MK4 cast locks but man did this game turn into something completely different. It looks amazing yeah, but I just didn't expect so many from MK9 to return.

Again, i'm not really mad but like earthrealmer said Fujin has had more cameo appearances than he has playable. What the fuck has he been doing this entire story lol? I'm expecting them to put him as a cameo AGAIN. That would be fun.

If it makes you feel any better, it wouldn't have mattered. If either of you had made this thread shortly after E3, it'd be buried scores of pages back and this one would be rolling along as is.

On the topic at hand? In my not at all humble opinion, the X roster is the absolute epitome of "yeah, that's okay". The returning characters are pretty much what you'd expect, no fault there. The new guys, though? I can't help but feel that ten or so years from now, the MKX guys are going to be the 3D era cast today.

Exactly. The roster is not perfect for me, but I'm still happy with most the returning faces and the fresh additions.

Also, before I gets me skull points, my post is suppose to be light hearted. I mean no disrespect, just havin some fun, I'm guessing your posts were in another thread that got merged into this thread. But even if thats not the case it wouldn't matter, say what ya want and what not. Your favorites got in and my didn't, boo hoo.

The roster is good. It could be even better for example by eliminating half of the fucking Special Forces characters like Sonya and Jax who are simply redundant when keeping character (background) variety in mind and replacing them with characters like Reiko, Fujin, and Shang Tsung.

Still, I'm fine with the roster. Why? Because there are about seven characters I see as a potential main (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Goro, Kotal Kahn, Takeda, Raiden, Quan Chi) and we haven't even seen all characters, yet. Not to mention that I really like characters like Ferra/Torr and D'Vorah as well. On the long run competitive play is all I care about and there are more than enough choices, gameplay-wise.

Yeah, I expect Fujin to show up in the Netherrealm War arc and just disappear for the rest of the story. Yet another cameo, and yet another missed opportunity.

Well, I was doing the math this morning because I was bored....say every fighter gets 4 Brutalities, which in my opinion is pretty generous.... That's only 96. If you count Goro that makes 100. So are they then counting some unplayable boss then to get the 'over 100' number or I wonder then if we're just looking at some extreme figure of like 5 or 6 Brutalities per fighter? Maybe the roster really is 25/26 fighters not counting Goro....
