You know they are not dropping Jacqui after one game, right? The only newcomers I could see out of MK11 are Erron and Ferra/Torr.

Why would Jacqui's chances be better than Erron's? She's been received pretty poorly by the fanbase, while the fans went crazy for Erron right from the start when he was first shown in the comics. Then when he was shown in the game's story mode trailer and variations video, his popularity sky-rocketed. He's popular with casuals (from the usage stats), he's popular on the MK boards and he's been in the spotlight on the tournament scene thanks to SonicFox who's maining him. I'd say his chances for coming back are better than Jacqui's. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see her back as well, I just think his chances are better.

To me, Erron is sort of like Kenshi used to be, he's that new badass fans want more of. He's got his own style, he's fresh and he's stylin'. He'll be back. glasses

Jacqui and Erron are both sticking around more than likely. The issue MK has always had is that they get rid of characters too quickly. Is it any wonder Kenshi is the most popular character from his era when he is the most reoccurring one?

Hahaha... And yet it goes...

While some of you disillusioned fans look to an imaginary installment 4 years in the future, with an imaginary cast and imaginary exclusions that can distract from the heartbreak of your arguably unpopular favorites, I'm sitting here enjoying the ever living fuck out of this very real, vey amazing installment that was just released. The fact that my favorite(s) is so highly embraced by its fan base is just a welcomed tidbit of information. Sad that these numbers are spiraling a certain "chosen few" into disarray and sending whole worlds crashing down.

You know who's got the right idea? The Kano fans who have said, "I like my character and I'm gonna keep playing him". Good on you guys; Kano is my third most selected, and I'd react just as coolly if Sonya wasn't topping this list, but actually down there with Kitana/Quan/Shinnok (incidentally, my current second most picked). I'd like to think I wouldn't be here going "Oh, MY character is disregarded? Well, YOUR character won't even be in this awesome future MK that's in my head! HAHA!"

Going back to enjoy this holy grail of MKs while you boys/girls hate onward.

Right? Sonya is still alive, unlike the female Scorpion, is still important to the story, unlike the female Scorpion, and is still ranking slightly higher than the female Scorpion on the character usage list. No matter how much promo they give her, or how much of a "poster girl" she is being forced down our throats, people just do not want the female Scorpion.

@xysion: Thanks for the lovely update. smile

It saddens me a bit to see Jason so high. I dislike guest characters and this might be an extra little motivation for them to keep including guest characters in future installments.

Nice to see Tanya doing well (looking at the weekly stats, since total numbers aren't fair when analyzing her stats). Quan Chi is one of the best characters in the game competitively, I guess casuals really dislike him. I'm curios to see whether the numerous buffs Kitana got in the latest patch will help boost her numbers a little, though I doubt since I don't think buffs/nerfs affect casual gamers that much. We'll see...

Lol. You just don't get it do you? Your obsession with trashing Mileena and generally other people's favs is just sad. I mean you can see that nobody here gives a fuck what you say. Nobody is even bothering with your cries for attention so sit down. Personally I laugh at your tries to make it seem like I ever hinted that Mileena is a "female Scorpion" lol. Boon himself says that, and if he believes it then hey! I am happy. It shows by the importance they gave her to the story EVEN AFTER SHE WAS ONE OF THE LEAST PLAYED CHARS IN MK9. So fuckin what. He can see the amount of fanbase she has on twitter and social media, and that is why she is being promoted so much.

What you believe on the other hand is irrelevant. You were crying about MK9 usage list and Kano, Mileena and Quan Chi who were some of the least played chars and Boon is not gonna bring them back, because fans, and this and that, boo hoo. They are still here. Get over it. You seriously need a hobby.

Interesting. Tanya is climbing really fast. And I've noticed she's being used a lot in tourneys so I'm happy! Places 11 to 17 are really close and interchangeable it seems. My guess is that Kitana is gonna start doing better after her buffs.
Surely you realize people have gotten sick of Sonya as a character?

What am I saying of course you don't.

We will see because I expect the Predator to be released at the start of July. This could potentially slow down both Tanya and Jason. What will be most interesting is how the Predator compares with Tanya. I expect Predator to be the most popular guest character.

I think casuals do not care about buffs or nerfs because in MK9 Scorpion was the most played character by far even though he was very poor competitively. Also I checked the win numbers for the characters and it does not correlate with the characters best variation. For example Scorpion's most popular variation is Ninjutsu, which is his worst variation by far. I would think it is more plausible that casuals rather play with their favourites.

Ninjitsu is the only Scorpion I play. His other two variations just don't click with me.

Originally, same here. Although I was coming around to Inferno before the patch. But the buffed damage on his Doom Blade/Slice brought me right back to Ninjutsu.

That is fine but I was talking about competitively. Inferno and Hellfire are better variations than Ninjutsu competitively.

I'm sad about Quan Chi too.
But villains should be put in a different ranking than heroes. It's just not the same hype for casuals to play as them.
I hope they do justice to Quan Chi in later games, they made him less intelligent than usually, though I did enjoy his mannerism. And "You were my only friend" is epic! tongue

Thats actually a valid point I havent thought about before. Good aligned characters occupy the first 13 spots in the list. Mileena is the highest evil character who is 14th which is mind boggling. Or Erron as 12th if you count him as evil (I consider him neutral serving his own purposes for money tbh but it depends). We dont really know much about him so anyway.
Evil characters occupy the last 5 spots once again with Jacqui being 6th from last (not surprising since she is the most uninspired character of the newbies tbh). I think NRS should take some time and think of a way to incorporate villains actively in Story Mode and not have them as punching bags. Story Mode is a great way for casuals to get familiar with characters movesets and it shows in the ranks.

Ah but Reptile has no need to take a break tongue If he were to get a descendant or something then yeah but seeing as how he's still active in Outworld and not dead or gettin old he's fine where he is. Jax and Sonya need to step aside and let Jaqui and Cassie take over.
Well at least the "bland blonde" still has fanboys (and girls, mind you!) Where are Reptile's at? Oh right, disappointed AGAIN.

Still in the bottom of the character usage list, still a jobber, and still a non factor to the storyline, lol, poor Reptile fans!
