Really? For me (I think I'm in another "region"), Sonya mirror matches are becoming a problem lol. At first I thought it was cute seeing all the Sonya Kombat Kards...now I'm running the other way. It feels odd countering my own character, and I don't like beating her up...
Glad she's up there in the list, though. Go get 'em.

Glad to see she's more popular on the other side of the atlantic, but you know online plays a small portion of character usage, I was looking at trophy percentage and only around 30% of the MKX userbase have won a match online, that means alot of players havent even gone online.

Yeah in Europe too, I haven't seen many Sonya players. It's mostly Infernos, Grandmasters, Kung Jins, Takedas, Cassies, Mileenas and Raidens.
Characters I've encountered the least are:
Kitana
Kano
Sonya
Shinnok
Kenshi
Ferra/Torr
Jacqui
Johnny
Jax

That sounds about right, because nearly all the Sonyas I've encountered have been Covert Ops, in spite of the fact that Special Forces is her most used by a considerable margin.

Wow at Scorpion. It seems everybody and their mama plays as him. Surprised Mileena's doing better too.
Quan Chi and Kano....if NRS brings them back after their awful usability back to back from last game, then I'm lost.
Super surprised at Jax, Kenshi and Sonya since I rarely see them online.

Mileena is climbing up that ladder, Khanum is popular!
Kitana also cracked 20 million which is good, Don't know why Kano is not popular, he's got three great variations and arguably the best group of costumes of the whole cast.

Story mode does not count. Online is a small percentage of actual play.
Mileena usage was inflated due to the Mileena Premier Tower. Same with Kotal Kahn. That is why there is a big leap in their numbers relative to the others.
Pretty sure Raiden will still keep on climbing. Same with Kung Jin.

thank god for some sense! If story mode counted Jaquie would be above Kitana!
the trophy for winning an online match is 28.3% of total MK user base ( i dont know if this is region based) as of today.

Yes you should use some sense instead of emotion. You're obviously getting very defensive with our discussion about predicting the females that will make into MK11.
Sonya might make it, who knows. We're just stating our opinion which is that most likely she will be left out since Cassie is all grown up now and no longer needs her parents.
Jacqui is so unpopular that even if the story fights counted, it wouldn't make a difference.

I don't think popularity alone decides whether a character is used a lot by fans or makes it into the next game. For instance to the casual player Quan Chi is very complicated to learn and characters like Kano and Reptile can be very difficult to win with as they do not have highly damaging vortex's or mix up's. The same case could be made for Kitana as well, who's seemingly extremely popular but clunky, harder to win with gameplay renders her lower on the list. A character like Kung Jin on the other hand is much easier to pick up and actually win with. So I guess my point is that not everybody plays their favorite character the most, but the character they feel they are the most likely to win with.

Actually it would make a lot of difference since story mode has been completed 11 million times. Jacqui has four fights in story mode so that would be an extra 44 million uses which would make Jacqui the third most used character.

It's a Kitana fan that just doesn't want to accept that Jacqui is the only female character less popular than Kitana in this game.
