If Kotal's related to Shao Kahn, I don't want them to be brothers.

The former emperor of Outworld probably had many bastard sons. I can see Kotal as one of those illegitimate heirs trying to claim the throne by force.

I'm looking forward to see the fatality from Ferra/Torr. They mentioned it in a stream and it sounds really brutal.

I have two favorites so far... Ferra/Torr and D'Vorah. I really love the fighting style and the fatalities/x-ray suits them well. I also like grabblers and i'm curios to see new gameplay from Kotal Kahn.

I was really surprised about Cassie Cage and since she's in the new MK i hope Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade aren't in. I know it works with Kenshi and Ermac in MK9 but in this case i don't want three similiar move sets. Especially with 9 Versions of it.. Just no. And i really like both characters in MK.

Ok ok, maybe not copy/paste... but the resemblance is there. Hood, cape (no mater how thight or shape they got) + "monochrome color" (one was purple, one is yellow).
I guess I hoped they would have gone with a completely new and unique look (without being copied, it's quite similar to the Raven one, imo)

I pictured her name to sound like Dvrorah and not Dee-Vorah... meh, I'll get use to it.

I hate direct relations to characters. Johnny and Sonya's daughter? Really? Sounds like some fanboy was on the development panel.

It's fine that the characters are aging or have connections to characters, but the whole direct bloodline things is very generic 95% of the time.

Ferra torr is the only character that I'm currently loving right now.

If kotal Kahn is a descendent of shao Kahn, then lame. If he is some other warrior that thinks he is the new coming of the legendary fallen shao Kahn and tries to steal his title and rule for himself then cool

That's something we've needed desperately in MK. All we ever hear about are gods, gods, gods yet all we're ever stuck with is just Raiden and occasionally Fujin. And Kotal Kahn looks fucking badass so does it really matter whether he is a father, brother, son or just happens to share the name?

And from all the comments I've seen thus far, Cassie Cage may share iconic moves with her mother and father but makes them her own. The procedural/cocky personality mix is something she apparently embodies, not just getting pasted over with someone elses movesets (like a certain red-headed female).

I was really liking D'Vorah until I saw a fight style where shes has no hood on...I cant dig her being bald...I see that and for some reason think of the female Cenobite from Hellraiser lol

Besides, you're acting like Sonya and Johnny Cage having a child together was completely out of the realm of possibility. It would've been great if Liu Kang and Kitana had a son.

I think your Kotal Kahn story sounds good. He doesn't even remotely remind me of Shao Kahn. A son or heir of him would be dumb.

I'm really not feeling most of these new characters. I'm looking forward to playing as Ferra-Torr, kinda reminds me of when we had NoobSmoke. The rest just seem like they don't fit. Visually, these characters don't appeal to me. I expected new characters, but these designs are meh for me. Seems like NRS is trying to do MK Injustice. I hope the next wave of new characters are better.

Kotal Kahn is rumored to be an Elder God so...I'd say there's a strong possibility of a connection to Shao Kahn.

Shao Kahn does not strike me as someone who thinks in succession lines.


Hell, the whole purpose of the pact of binding his servants even in death.


Shit, if it's canon, then right after Kahn is eaten alive by neon dragons, everyone else pretty much dies on the Outworld side as well.

They never said that pact applied to everyone. Only Shang Tsung took it for sure.

I find the most interesting new character to be D'Vorah, regardless if she is really bald or not lmao. She's half bee half human, an entirely new race, so I guess that's normal for them. I'll accept it. But as of now, since we don't know the rest of the cast, it looks like I'll be maining her. I just wonder how they'd incorporate her in the story. Based from her appearance and speech, she seems like she could align with the evil or neutral side of things. Maybe her race will be endangered/enslaved by one of the feuding sides of whatever the conflict is, forcing her (or them) to fight, who knows.

What I really want to see, however, is a new character that is revolved around plants! Maybe a character that is made out of vines/roots. Seems interesting enough to me. Clearly NFS is getting more creative with their character designs.

So D'Vorah has the ability to manipulate insects..

Cassie has her parents' abilities.

Kotal is a descendant of Shao Kahn.

And Ferra & Torr are a tag team.

Wonder what's next.

No info on Kotal Kahn has been given other than him being Aztec inspired.

It's not her real look. Some of the developers said that she wears an exoskeleton. It's lame to give her fake hair just for the sake of it. MK is not a beauty contest.

Has everyone calmed down now we've seen her gameplay. No old moves stolen. HUURRAHH!

If they were to give D'Vorah some sort of hair, I'd assume it would look a little bit like Sarah Kerrigan's hair.



It's the only thing I can see that would fit with her character. But I have to say, the baldness look is more of a unique thing to see. We don't have female characters with short hair, with the exception of Frost.

D'Vorah looks better without hair. Plus MK women hair tend to look horrible anyway.

Has it been officially stated whether Ferra is a kid or a [Politically Correct: Person Of Reduced Stature]?

Also: Someone on TYM said she thrashes around as Torr is killed. Wonder if they have a shared pain connection a la GI Joe's Tomax/Xamot.

Sonya. At this point Cassie definitely mixes her parents moves. However, the green in most of her animations reminds me so much more of Johnny Cage as does her personality. It's like she got her Mom's looks, but her Father's everything else. So, I'm thinking if either Sonya or Johnny is present then it will be Sonya.

I will say this, having all 3 could be a little overkill for the Cage family. I do want to see either Johnny or Sonya get a slot though.

I can't see MK having a 40 year old human female in the game. So I guess a playable Sonya would be a kind of "past" iteration. Cassie has her father's power glows but she's kicky and acrobatic. There's definitely some Sonya in there.

I was expecting her to have the ring toss in all honesty. Maybe they did come from tech after all.

The whole bastard son thing would be really cool thing to see.
