I'd definitely give them major props if they did but in general fighting games tend to avoid older female characters OR go in the opposite direction and make them impossibly old but ageless.

Funny enough, on the Gamespot stream he just called her a girl, then went out of the way to correct himself and say 'lady'.

I don't even know anymore, man. Maybe it's a girl but they're downplaying it to avoid controversy.

With a game this violent I imagine they want to avoid the implication that there are children about in minimal fetish clothing murdering people/getting killed.

These people haven't really played alot of video games, since that happens all the time.

I'm excited that because of the gore tech this may be the first MK game since 1 that's truly controversial. Then somebody mentioned on another site (and you guys are mentioning it now) Ferra! It never crossed my mind how potentially controversial she is. Any negative press will be good press for MK. Especially if it's Fox News or something like it, jumping to conclusions and what not.

As a society we kind of compartmentalize military stuff like that. Americans do at least.

But yeah often you see ghoulish child-y things but there not usually straight up children. Ferra looks and sounds like she might be. The fact that she speaks a little like Elmo in cute broken english doesn't really help.

That would be incredibly interesting. All these new characters so far interest me heavily. Haven't been this intrigued by new faces since Deadly Alliance to be completely honest.
