As a Kano fan(yes we exist) I unfortunately have to agree. I hope it looks better in video footage.

Rain is just Rain, another boring, uninspired, unoriginal ninja without a proper storyline, born as a joke and left out of mk9 's story for good reason.

But I honestly don't see what's wrong with this design, just 'cause they made the bandolier a large chest harness.

I mean they fixed his hair back to looking like it should, that's something, isn't it? Or am I the only fucking person who prefers him to be the franchise's representative for male pattern baldness?

I'm not a fan of it either. It looks identical to Hsu Hao. Take the eye away and place a hat on his head and you have Hsu Hao.

Exactly! It doesn't matter that it is tied with leather straps and that the glowy thingy isn't exactly where his heart is... It still looks similar to Hsu Hao.

I love his hair actually. I wasn't a fan of how they tried to make him look like Trevor Goddard in MKVSDC/MK9. I don't care for much else however.

Hsu Hao was more than just his chest though. He had a potentially-racist yellowish-green skintone, a shaved head, and a silly hat.

I just know some fans get insulted when talking bad about their favourite characters, so I just apologized beforehand, just in case.

Look at the hardware holding it into Hsu Hao also...just saying.

Both designs look like you can just remove everything off, ya know, for maintenance reasons.

It just seems weird to me that people are acting like Kano never wore a glowing red thing in the middle of his chest before.

And his "personality" ran dry for me long ago. And I'm not even a "Kano hater" nor am I saying he shouldn't be in the game, I just found his reveal to be rather surprising(which isn't exactly a negative thing, just wasn't expecting him) and that I didn't like his new look. When I see actual footage of him kicking ass I might change my mind but as of now, I'm not "wow'd".

It's just the way this Kano is designed. If he had a tank top with the straps and all, I doubt anyone would say shit....maybe.

He wore that bandolier belt with the red glowing thingy on. However, it is something else this time, and from the way it appears, it looks similar to Hsu Hao's. NOT THE SAME... but similar.

Him being barechested and wearing the military pants kinda strengthen the similarities to Hsu Hao.

If you can't see it and don't think it is similar at all, fair enough. But there are quite a few on here who do, so it's not just something people are just making up.

... You add one minor accessory that most likely doesn't have any significance whatsoever and people immediately conclude it's a Hsu Hao clone, or aspects of that.

It's not surgically attached to him, (I zoomed in on the picture that has him pointing) it's strapped on him. Even the other one has a better view of the straps.

Hsu Hao's laser chest was physically attached to him.

So please, stop saying this is a Hsu Hao clone. I doubt the artists would attempt to make a classic character share characteristics with the most hated character.

He isn't a Hsu Hao clone, but the similarities are there.

Im a Big Kano fan and Im digging the new look. He look smore like a Mercenary and to be honest I always thought Kano should have been a Crime Lord. You know, High maintenance, Suit, Cigar security type character but they always said he was a Merc. With this look i've never agreed more. Maybe we will see other Black Dragon Members make make cames but im hoping for Tremor to be apart of his team and also be playable.

Ill admit, from the picture im sure we all saw, his Chest Strap Accessory is redesigned and looks similar to Hsu Hao's. But thats OK, because this version of Kano is pulling it off Well. The Camo Pants and Knee pads, i can dig. the arm protector i can dig as well.

It makes me wonder are some of his new accessories Cybernetic upgrades?! In his MK9 Bio, it was stated and I quote, "Kano was fitted with several high-tech enhancements, most notably his eye laser." Does Kano actually have more cybernetic enhancements?

Anyway im happy to see Kano make it into MKX, but i have no doubt in my mind that he will "Die""in this game which will be the end of his Run. Which i will be fine with as long as he is given a good "death/send off"

Yep. People are lightning quick to denounce a character as boring or 'Hsu Hao' clone based on two low-res scans of a magazine. If a more divisive character, like Rain or Tanya were revealed and kinda looked sucky, there would be a civil war on here. For the record, I'm a little underwhelmed but I'm more than willing to wait for gameplay before I denounce and attaint the new Kano.

If they're going for a grappling standard based on real world grappling, Judo and BJJ? Or amalgamate the two and put in Aikido? Though based on the fact that Aikido is nonsense and the other two work, I'd hope for the former.

That would be odd to put leather straps on something for it to stay put when you have characters like Jax who has metal arms and has no leather straps to make sure they be kept on.

Kano is sweet news! We don't know much about his variations, but, his wrestling one could fit him perfectly. His other variations may be, Knives and Lasers.
As for his design, it seems pretty cool. I Hope he has a more older look with cybernetics for his alt.

To everyone: Even if the Kano reveal would of been kept for GamesCom, I don't think it would of wow'd us as to seeing a MK4-D or new character.
I think they did that because he is a returnee from MK9. We will have more character reveals come GamesCom.
