Kano looks awesome.

I'm really loving this.

I can't wait to see the way they will develop Sonya and Johnny and how they will take over. So far, everything is looking pretty perfect for MKX. I think we are all in for a treat and a huge surprise.

Really can't wait to see how central they will be to the plot and, seriously, it wouldn't surprise me at all if these rumors are true. They have been main iconic characters since day 1, they have been 2 of the biggest poster characters of the franchise (Sonya more so than Johnny or the females, Mileena being the second one), and they both were the two lone survivors from the huge main cast of the last game.

They had a lot of love, importance in the story and screen time. They are building up the next generation. Sort of like creating a bridge. I only hope they don't screw this up by not giving the Cage/Blade family their well deserved happy ending.

Super excited.

And not sorry, at all, for the (slim few) haters I hope and trust the 3 will be in, and I am confident the 3 will kick butt in their own unique ways.

Hm.. well.. i'm not that hyped to see sonya back in MKX. not my favorite and with Cassie we already have someone who should follow her mother footsteps.

The info about Liu, Cage, and Sonya is incredibly shakey. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed when Ed's like "Yeah, no."

I'm not sure how I feel about the design...the lack of tats and hairless body irks me...I like a more scruffy Kano. Might also just but the poor quality photos, hope to see gameplay soon!

You and me both, man. MK9 nailed it with his appearance for me and it's my favorite design by far along with the sick alternate costume he had.

I hate the lack of tats. That's bothering me and I hope the pictures I saw were still early builds.

Interesting new quote from the German magazine article. Grabbed it from TYM:

"Even though boon doesnt tell how exactly the old fighters
are integrated into the game, we strongly expect them not to be separate characters, but one of the versions in the roster screen."

Again, a lot of the info contained in the actual article seems likely to be conjecture on the author's part.
With that said, I think Sonya/Johnny could be alt's for Cassie after all. Alts with unique voices, etc. They did it in MK9 and moreso in Injustice so I'd be surprised if that didn't happen again.

They probably let Kano out the bag on purpose and giving us a completely new character next week.

I actually Love Kano's design. Its almost identical to my own idea for his mkx look. LoL. Subtract the bicep-guards and give him back his tattoos tho.

I already had a hunch that the different ages of the character would be the alts. The Injustice alts were their alternate-earth counterparts, not just a different costume.

I thought for sure an aged Sonya or Johnny would be the narrator of the story. Giving us a Terminator 2 vibe! Then having them be DLC or "super-unlockable"

Sounds very possible, it makes sense.

Yeah, it's very hard to tell what's fact and what's conjecture, especially when many of us can't even read the article.

Could Sonya and Cage be alts for Cassie? Is this how they'd integrate older characters? Like alt costumes but with their own moves, but taking up just one square on the select screen?

Or maybe the author is confusing "versions" of characters like Stormlord Raiden and Displacer Raiden with the idea that Cassie's versions could be Sonya and Cage (when they're obviously not).

This leads me wonder why NRS would go through the trouble of announcing characters and giving them reveals in magazines or events like EVO only to have Boon just casually drop three characters (Liu, Cage, Sonya) in an interview without showing them.

It seems odd to say the least. Maybe Boon meant that they're in the game's story, since he's already mentioned cameos and it's obvious that they could all have roles to play? Who knows.

That said, I'm totally fine with the story NRS wants to tell and the characters they want to use for it. There will be at least 24 characters and each of them will have stories. Scorpion's story not doin it for ya in this game? Well, there's at least 23 more characters to invest in.

So both Injustice and Mortal Kombat 9 had a female character that had an alternate costume that replace them with a male character and that male character did that female's every animation?



Nope. This happen before with MK9. Leaked magazine scans right before a big game event related articles. And people bitched about it feeling entitled that people with internet access should know of this first and not people who still read magazines.

Naw dawg. But they did have different characters as alternate skins. I think NRS could make it work pretty easily, especially for Sonya who really doesnt need a whole character slot. Johnny could definitely be his own character, but Sonya could easily be an unlockable skin.

With that said, Im not buying this Johnny, Sonya, Liu rumor anyway, so whatevs.

Good to see Kano back again. I knew he still survived when he warned Noob Saibot about Cyber Sub-Zero in the story mode of MK9. I just like Kano's new design. Hopefully, they will reveal the Kano trailer and a new Jungle area, then we wait until GamesCom for more stuff.
