Havik's got potential, but Noob's has already been realized and made him badass as fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Voted Kung Lao in the last and voting Sonya here. The last wasn't a tough choice as Kai just seems to me this concept with interesting ideas behind him that were just never fully expanded upon. I really would love him as MK's Eddy Gordo, oversaid though that may be at this point. Nevertheless, even Kung Lao's horrible character assassination job through Shaolin Monks up until now can't hope to erase the great character he used to be. MKG ending for the win.

Sonya wins over Jarek even harder. He was an uninspired Kano clone in MK4, and - bless MKA for trying to give him a new direction, but something was just off. The notion of having him trying to perfect the best methods of killing is an interesting one; his design still has a ways to go. If they rewrite him as the Black Dragon's go-to assassin who loves what he does and doesn't come across as overly psycho, I might appreciate him a lot more.

Sonya meanwhile came out of MK9 great. Her scenes with Johnny were wonderful if few, and her search for her father adds a dimension to her character she's needed very sorely for quite some time now. I'm glad she finally has a personal stake in the Outworld excursions, and I can finally look at her as more than just another face that exists simply to fill the ranks of the good guys. Glad she made it out alive; looking forward to her return. She was also one of the most fun characters to play; I hope her moveset stays the way it is for once. You go, Ms. Blade. Go go go.

Kano is cool, but I never really cared that much about him. He's never been a favourite character of mine, but I give him the recognition he deserves. He has a good, fitting role in the MK story, his gameplay is unique and he is generally a good character - I just simply do not care that much about him.

I loved Kira's look and both her outfits are awesome. Her background story was kinda cool, her being a terrorist and anarchist. As a character, she has alot of potential and her being Kabal's right hand in the newly reformed Black Dragon clan was really cool, imo. But her gameplay was completely lacking! Copy/pasted Kano and Sonya moves was a really bad gameplay choice for her and she became one of the least popular characters because of it. However, I hope she returns with a unique moveset in the next MK game. ^^

I am still giving the vote to Kira. Out of the two, Kira at least inspired some interest in me. Her major flaw is her gameplay, or rather, lack there of, and it really is a MAJOR flaw, but I still like her as a character (it's kinda like saying a woman is really ugly, but has an interesting personality, isn't it? XD ).
I simply just don't care enough about Kano.

Ugh Kira. It's too bad she's completely unoriginal because her alt was kind of hot.

Kira. Her primary costume in Deception is fantastic (one of the best female costumes in the series) and her backstory is interesting. Yes, her gameplay sucks, however aside from his accent there's pretty much nothing else I like about Kano.

Kira. Love her alternate costume, story and overall design.

I hate the fact that they needed a Kano character in every game, so they just copied pasted her moveset. (it made some sense for Jarek since Kano was apparently in MK4, but they removed him for a new character who's ass either way)

She had a cameo in Kahn's Coliseum, so I'm certain we'll see her again.

Though it probably wasn't intentional, Kano is one of the few male MK characters that has sex appeal.

He's the bad boy girls fall for and chase after. Plus, his MKDA costume is like, super hot.

Despite his Terminator inspiration, Kano is one of the most original characters in MK. Ironically, he is also the most realistic in terms of character. In a double irony, that's probably what makes him original the most.

It's too bad because Kira is one of the few new characters I would welcome back, but ONLY if she got a major revamp. It's too bad because her design itself was kinda cool. (I liked her in her alt costume too )

Oh, next round I'm voting Kano over Sonya too.

Kano is one of the only few characters in the series I've actually considered hot. There's just something about manly, bad-ass Aussies that I find alluring. Aside from that though, he hasn't really done much else to stand out, bar being hot.

However, Kira left a very good first impression with me when she was introduced. I wasn't crazy about her alt but loved her primary outfit, and her story was interesting. Again, like others have said, her moveset needed improvement big time, but I think if she came back into the franchise with the right amount of attention and work put into her, she could easily be more popular than the likes of Tanya or Fujin.

I vote Kira.

I like Kira. While a lot of people tend to see the lazy Sonya/Kano hybrid moveset and turn their nose up at her, I see a lot of potential. I like her look (even if Skarlet is extremely similar now), I like her background, and if she ever got the MK2011 treatment, I think that she could be a fan favorite.

As far as Kano goes, I really think that they've dropped the ball with him over the years. They kept going with the Kano/Sonya feud and it never amounted to anything. He basically became a lackey for everyone that was in power at the time and given his original look, his style, and the overall uniqueness of his character, they could've done so much more. He could be so much more than what he is story-wise.

So I see potential in both of these characters. I could see a hundred new story directions for each of them, and I'd love to see both of them back in the future. Therefore, potential needs to be removed from the equation.

And without the idea of what they could be, Kano wins hands down. The moves, the attitude, the accent, the look... The guy's just a thug and he does it so much more convincingly then most other bad guys in this series, who are all more evil in a classic sense. Kano, meanwhile, is more like an opportunistic cockroach.

In that sense, he really separates himself from the others. You could almost see him siding with the good guys if it suited his agenda. Because of all that, I had to go with Kano, even if I do like what Kira could be down the road (too bad it seems like NRS wants to leave her and Kobra in the dust).

I don't like either character, but I'm voting Kano on this one. Kano is an iconic MK character. While he doesn't do much story-wise, not having him in an MK game just doesn't feel right. (Maybe it's because when he isn't in an MK game he is substituted by clone characters)

Never was fan of Kano. His usefullness for the plot ended as soon as Movado was introduced, who I believe was supposed to be a Kano replacement (what with him being considered "Sonya's greatest enemy" in MKDA), but, alas, this idea was buried with everything good that came in MKDA. I consider Mavado much more interesting character than Kano, by the way. Also, I am not big fan of movie!Kano - never liked this interpretation of the character, since I personally think it's dumbed down version of otherwise pretty cunning and clever thug. I think Kano's time is over and he should be replaced. There are pretty many candidates for it - Jarek, Mavado, Kira and all of them could be mnuch more interesting than Kano himself with appropriate amount of development. As for his rivalry with Sonya - it was succsefully buried somewhere in MK3. The only one who actually cared about this rivalry was Sonya herself, with Kano barely mentioning it. In MK9 it was giving a new boost, but I doubt it will play a significant role in the future - as always.

As for Kira she has a nice backstory and nice designs. Her character could be interesting, but as of now she is somewhat bland. Bad thing that she is associatied with Kabal's Kindergarden in MKD and atrocious Kobra, that would not win her many points. The only thing that should be completely revamped in her case is gameplay. Being Kano / Sonya merge would not do.

To make it a bit clearer I am not voting for Kira jusr because I like her character that much, I vote for her mostly because I dislike Kano.
