I'm wondering...

Are there anyone here who actually LIKE Jarek? Doesn't have to like him over Sonya, but just in general. And if so, why do you like him? What about him is it you like?

Know I ask solely out of curiousity.

No one likes Jarek in general. And if they do, they're gonna get cut.

I like Jarek. Sure he may have been Kano for MK4 but I actually like him better than Kano.

I liked that Triblade or whatever it was he threw at his opponent. Plus that move where he fell on his back.

I liked his look as well. Thought he looked pretty neat.

I'm also one of those guys who believes every MK character can be great. If Stryker can change people's minds, so can less popular characters.

Jarek's only crime is being a bit redundant in a world where Kano still exists, with a misdemeanor of being underdone as a character. When it comes to Mortal Kombat, these are hardly the crimes of the century, particularly when this is one of the rare and welcome occasions when character overlap is at least justified (by logical associations).

As characters come, a crook in an organization of crooks is pretty justifiable, even if it'd be nice to see a bit more than ropes and fatality stylee as an upgrade. MK is never great at earning its scope, so having these extra Black Dragon names and faces is nice.

I like him (in the loosest sense) because he's an existing available option and is visually somewhat unlike the majority of the cast, even Kano. As a counter point to the law heroes he can be interesting, as a member of the Black Dragon (alive and criminal, preferably), he can still add texture. All fun aside, this is obviously not an offensive or irredeemable character, in the slightest.

I'm voting for Jarek because I liked him way too much in MK4. He had the FUNNIEST line in the entire series and had some of the dumbest things with him such as his laser eyes and his ability to get owned by Jax by being told "This isn't brutality, this is a FATALITY!" Because of these scenes, made me appreciate Jarek a bit more.

As much as Queve doesn't want to hear this (since I know he's a huge major fan of Sonya) I don't like her. Throughout the series she turned into a confusing character that has a lot of nonsense happening around. She doesn't really come off to me as a lieutenant. And I HATED her leg split fatality because the damn thing doesn't make sense.

That and I just never really was a fan of Sonya at all.

Jarek was a Kano-clone in MK4 and in MKA he was...rather strange mishmash of moves and strange design. Sonya is a classic, on of the most stylish MK characters (aside from MK9 primary costume) and has great arsenal of moves and finishers.

I actually liked his MKA moveset, the whip grab move fit him well, his telekenesis backdrop move is pretty kewl, the triblade is his original MK4 weapon which kinda gave him a semi-Batman feel, yet I don't like his MKA design; he was rather good-looking in MK4.

Though I care little for him myself, I hope he will appear in the next game as a more unique character with unique moves and a better look. Like it was mentioned above, like Stryker's popularity was shot through the roof in this game, it can happen to others too. As long NRS puts some effort into it.

Sonya Blade is pretty cool and all, but I vote for Jarek, he's one of my favorites characters.

In all honesty I can't think of anything to even say about Jarek...hes just...some guy, he doesn't have a "thing". He looks like an average background NPC that was made playable.

Out of the other baddies from MKSF I don't know what made the MK team that he was the best for MK4.

Voted Sonya, but I could care less for both of these characters.

Not gonna lie. Noob vs Havik is gonna be hard to choose. I like both... but I think I lean towards Havik more. We'll see.
