Raiden can't be held totally responsible for these events.
He meant well by preventing Smoke's abduction, and he had no idea the Lin Kiwi would return for Sub-Zero.
Kung Lao was being a big-headed ass, wanting so badly to win the tournament, and he got himself killed because of it.
Liu Lang was so damn preoccupied with trying to save the world, he refused to give Raiden a fighting chance, and take into consideration that even with the visions, Raiden was still very ignorant of the future. Liu even went as far as to try to kill Raiden, and got himself killed because of it.
And who the hell knew Sindel would be that damn strong?
Raiden is not at fault, he did his best with what he had.

I cant stand Raiden. Never could. He is so overrated and overused (for me he shouldnt be playable and as invovled, he should be takign a backseat and be the narrator type character). Bottom 5 character for me personally following his disasterous antics in MK9.
Wonder how Nightwolf will fare against Kenshi.

Raiden couldn't have said "Watch out Kung Lao!" Instead he just lets him die. Not too mention he murdered Liu Kang. He could've just teleported away. But no, instead he zaps him. Raiden really screwed the pooch on this one.

He probably didn't think Shao Kahn would do that dirty move. He might've thought that Shao Kahn was going to tell Kung Lao that as the final challenge he would have to face him. Instead, Raiden sees Shao Kahn just snapping Kung Lao's neck like it was tuesday. Judging by Raiden's reaction, he didn't think Shao would do that, or should be allowed to do that.
I do not believe Raiden meant to seemingly kill Liu Kang. I agree that Raiden should've teleported away from the attack, but Raiden was likely seconds away from getting killed by Liu, so he probably acted on impulse that time. Did Raiden know that fire+electricity is a bad combination? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, it is very likely he was acting on instinct to preserve his own life.
(Godly resurrection probably takes a while. And who can say that you can think straight while acting on instinct?)

In the old timeline besides sub-zero and hatoru I like that shujinko is old. Everyone is too young looking

Story wise (completely ignoring gameplay) Sindel as queen of Edenia would probably be more powerful than all the other playable characters except Raiden (She'd have to be at least almost as powerful as Shao Kahn, really). It's kind of hard to tell how being under Shao Kahn's control would affect her power as they never say it weakens her, but one can come up with plenty of fan made explanations for why it does or doesn't. Adding all of Shang Tsung's power to her (someone who should also be more powerful than most of the roster) would make her at least twice (but probably more like three or four times) as powerful as any other character, especially the people she killed in story mode.

Two warriors with ties to two realms! As custodian of the Shaolin Tournament, the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung corrupted the competition in the name of Outworld. Bo' Rai Cho was born in Outworld, but sides with the realm of Earth, turning his skills as a master of martial arts to train the greatest Shaolin warriors who fight for light. Aged and skilled, which master will reign supreme in Round 1?

I have a distaste for Shang.... but I dislike Bo Rai Cho even more so..... I'll go with Shang Tsung
Gonna have to go with the big Bo Cho. I haven't liked Shang Tsung in any game except MK3 because of his funny hands, bright yellow pants, and the raccoon on his head.... Yes, when I was eight years old playing MK3 I thought his hair was a raccoon hat.
I didn't like the big Bo Cho when I first saw him... I thought he was stupid. He is stupid, but that's what makes him charming, hehehe... I hate him less now and greatly enjoy calling him the big B'Cho.

This is a tough one for me.
Shang Tsung is awesome... or rather, he used to be awesome. I haven't liked his gameplay or story since MK3. He's become stale, an unnecessary character after that. The Deadly Alliance opened up some doors for him, but the MK team kinda dropped the ball on that one. I've always liked his outfits, though I prefer young Shang Tsung over the old version. I still wish we would be able to be a young Shang in his red robes, but no... But yeah, Shang Tsung used to be cool.
Bo'Rai Cho is a personal favourite of mine, I love his story and his character alot, though I have always found his gameplay lacking. The MK team went in the right direction with it, but it's like something is missing. It needs some edge to it, something to make it special and unique. The Puke Puddle is a good start, but his other moves are kinda boring.
I think I will choose Bo'Rai Cho and hope that he will be more awesome in the next game. ^^

I want to like Bo Rai Cho I really do, but his moves are like sour milk to me. I can only take so many vomit and fart jokes from this guy, before I keel over from the bad taste in my mouth. If it were me, I'd never put him in the main roster ever again, I see him more on the sidelines being a teacher and training other characters, but never physically going into battle.
As for Shang Tsung, I only have one thing to say... Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa!
Voted 4 Shang Tsung!

Never liked Bo Rai Cho, I vote Shang based on that and him being the Boss of MK1 and being a fun character gameplay wise in MK9.

Meh, no matter. Probably was gonna choose Shang TEE-Sung anyways since I like him in the new game. Might be hard as hell, but I feel awesome when I pull off a good combo. ST for da winz motherf*****s.

Hes fat as hell, uses puking as move, and farts as a fatality. They would have been better off giving those moves to Homer Simpson or something. Not a character in MK.
Shang Tsung > fatty patty
Shang Tsung > fatty patty
Of course, I'm voting for Bo' Raised Cho, as he's one of my favorite characters.
I don't care about the farting and vomit (I actually love that move, as it comes in handy quite often), his drunken fist style is still amazing, he was always one of my top players in MKDeception.
Furthermore, storywise he is one of the greatest key factors in the series' storyline. He has been training Earthrealm warriors for centuries, prepping them for Mortal Kombat, and it was his training that led to Liu Kang winning the first tournament, as well as Kung Lao winning the second (even though Kung Lao got himself killed). Also, I find it pretty awesome that he is from Outworld, but chooses to fight for Earthrealm.
I do like Shang Tsung, but he's always seemed weak to me. I strongly believe very few MK characters would have trouble defeating him.
My vote's for Bo' Rai Cho. I hope he wins.

right on
The only game i really liked shang stung was mk2. then he was whatever. so my vote goes to my drunken comrad
This goes to Bo. Don't hate because he's chubby. :3
MK needed a drunken master. His moves and fatals were horrible, but he's got great character. Ditch the vomit and farts and you've got a neo-classic to match Kenshi.
Shang Tsung meanwhile spends every other game getting his ass whooped. He's had 2 moments of glory, really - his rule over the MK1 tournament and breaking Liu Kang's neck.
He's a classic character... that just keeps getting it handed to him at grunt levels. Sorry Shang.
