It's like they genuinely believe if the character isn't Scorpion or Sub-Zero, they can't win honestly.

All I'm saying is that people had two days to vote. TWO days. Kuai-Liang was up by around 10% most of the time. Now I hear that when the poll neared closure Ermac caught up and even passed sub (I stopped viewing sometime yesterday when I was convinced that sub was going to win). I mean where do the last minute votes come from in this 2 day poll? That out the way, here's an interesting question. Its true that the One Being has been around since the beginning of time. So it was obviously present in MK1, one way or another, even appearing on the fighter select screen(Dragon logo). Yet we didn't know about IT until MK:D. So when did it make its debut, MK1 or MK:D....

The crazy thing is, with the case of Ermac, they're acting as if he's a low-end character that no one likes. Ermac is actually popular, so he's going to get a lot of votes, just like Sub-Zero.

And even if someone like Hsu Hao made it to round 3, I wouldn't think "People are spamming!" or "This is rigged!" I would think, "Damn, I didn't know Hsu Hao had fans like that. I stand corrected."

So Sub won then, seems fair enough his fan base is huge.

No one is denying his ability to win.

What I'm saying is he's not the only character with the ability to win.

Ermac is popular and all but you can't compare him to SubZero. Ermac does not have the ability to beat Subby, thats a fact. SubZero is the face of the series and one of the, if not the most iconic MK character. So don't get carried away please.

I'm not getting carried away, I just happen to believe in Ermac's potential.

I've always compared him to Sub-Zero and Scorpion, actually, even before Deception. I've always felt that out of all the other MK ninjas, Ermac was the only one capable of reaching their status.

If it ever so happens that a new face should come, I believe Ermac could be that face (though I'd much rather prefer if a new character was the new face).

Who cares. I agree with you, but I think you need to take your own advice and don't get carried away here as well. I think it would be weird if Ermac took the gold on this, but not unheard of. Also, it has nothing to do with 'ability' here, it's popularity. If this was based on ability, Ermac could have just lifted Sub-Zero into the air and ripped off all his limbs. Sub-Zero could have frozen him and all too- honestly, I think the two are pretty evenly matched. I don't use MK9's battles to determine the abilities of the 'evil' characters because they were all doomed to lose.

And here I was thinking about bringing Boot/Immune back.

Dude you should read my message again because I clearly wasn't referring to that type of ability. If that was the case Liu Kang would be te champion of this tourney.

Anyways, Ermac is popular but not even close to SubZero.

It's popularity. Ermac isn't doing anything to win and neither is Sub-Zero, it's their popularity. Saying 'he doesn't have the ability to win' is kind of just wrong.

Ability doesn't necessarily mean physical strength. It can also be used in a more general sense. For example, ability as in the characters legacy and popularity. Come on girl.

1- Thats opinion. That isnt fact. Dont label it as such.
2-pokemon as an example. Pikachu is the face of the series. Cant really argue that. But Whats funny is that jigglypuff is much more popular in Japan than Pikachu.
Dont base ones ability to persevere based on them being a mascot. It makes you look ignorant.

I think that's what most people aren't getting, just because he isn't normally a character you think of when it comes to icons of the MK universe. Ermac is probably one of the top five most popular characters if we're talking just fanbase size.

Either way, I'm just saying Ermac has the potential to rise (Batman pun totally intended).

I would have never guessed that Ermac would be anywhere near as popular as Sub-Zero, though. Yesterday he was putting up a really good fight. He was in the lead when I went to sleep, actually.

I disagree, maybe in the top 10 but definitely not in the top 5. I respect your opinion though.

it isnt a fact. Have you done extensive research on the subject or are you basing that off of what you see here? I thought so.
And considering pokemon has overwhelmingly outsold any mortal kombat its a good example. Its actually been researched on a wide scale.
