If it was anything else, a rumor would mean absolutely nothing. In Mortal Kombat, a rumor is the first step to a new creation.

More like an additional costume than an actual character.
Voted Ermac just because we already have enough Sub Zeros. Also, Ermac has Jerrod's soul inside him... That's a link to my favorite character, Kitana.
Well, and I like red too.
But I couldn't care less about any of those two characters.
Anyway... Go Error Macro!!

I love ya Ermac, but Sub-Zero is still the best fighting game character of all time.

Sub-Zero.
Not that i think he's the great character that everyone thinks he is,i just think that he's a decent character, but i really don't like ermac that much(i don't hate him though). But it's going to be a predictable sub-zero win.Well you guys voted for him.So that's on you.And me too.

This (in english tho) What people fail to realize is that subbie just has a lot of fans. So that's an extra vote going to him. Why? Because we freakin like the guy. I don't care if he wins 20 tournaments, he still gets my vote. That's my favorite, duh. Sub-Zero(Bi-Han) is the reason why video games have the ESRB ratings due to his infamous spine rip fatality. He deserves the spotlight. Every character had a chance to shine if you ask me. In almost every game each had an intro or biography and/or also an ending (add the fatalities and gameplay with that). Sub is the one who shined the brightest imo.

Meat was actually just a hidden costume.
It was the fans who decided to treat him as a character.

Meat was a costume in MK4. It wasn't until after MKDA was released that Boon decided to credit him as an actual character.

And Ermac made his debut in MK1 as a rumoured glitch. Just like Skarlet's was MK2 and the same with Blaze. That's how I see it anyways. Ermac and Skarlet are created from those rumours and Blaze due to fanfiction of the fire dude in the Pit 2 stage. Those rumours, though proved to be false, are acknowledged by Ed Boon himself.
But it seems people disagree on what and when a character's debut is, so let's agree to disagree and put this discussion to rest, because we are going around in circles now.

@petrcech: I disagree with you about Ermac. Remember that he was one of the best characters to use in UMK3 which made him an instant fan-favorite and then his popularity received an extra boost (probably the biggest) in MKD where he came back with a badass design. His MKD primary costume is still my all time favorite in MK. MK2011 further helped him with cool new costumes and an accessible and fun gameplay.
I love both these characters and even though Ermac has been steadily climbing up my list since MKD he still hasn't climbed above Sub-Zero. One more game and it might happen, but for now I still prefer Subby. Their confrontation in MK2011's story mode in the Soul Chamber arena was probably my favorite moment in the story mode. My two fave male "ninjas" throwing badass lines at each other before engaging in fight.
Also, I count UMK3 as Ermac's debut game (and MK4 as Meat's debut game).

I mean it's really not up for interpretation lol. You debut when you appear. If they didn't appear until MK3 and MK2011 then that's what it is. And Ermac made his debut in MK1 as a rumoured glitch. There origins obviously started with the rumors but that's not an appearance, that's people talking.

I'm not denying Meat's debut in MK4, I'm saying it was not his official debut.
The point that I made through this whole thing, is that Ermac, like Meat and Skarlet, was known and popular before he was actually created. It was his unofficial debut in MK1 that led to his official debut in UMK3.

I love Ermac. He's my favorite character because he's so mysterious with his souls, telekinesis and costume. And his voice is awesome too.
I like Sub-Zero, but I could only vote for one.
Go Ermac! I hope you win!

heyyyyy! that was a 'tie-po'. I agree with you on the subbie and ermac encounters, MK9 memorable moments..... Can someone tell me when Hydro made his unofficial and/or official debut. My first time seeing the guy was on youtube when I was watching some MK:Project crap. I mean it was cool but kinda weird. I also saw hydro in the mk:legacy where is appearance was short-lived, LITERALLY There goes my hopes for seeing him as a future MK character. Wouldn't it be cool if cyber-sub was Hydro instead...what a waste

I actually created a humanoid robotic character called Hydro about ten years ago, for a graphical novel-type series I'm still working on today.
Then again, so did like, a crap load of other people.
Mine is better, though!
