Still rooting for Ermac!
But I guess people would have been up in arms way sooner if it came down to Sub-Zero and Scorpion

As for Scorpion, I think that he needs more to do, not necessarily plot-wise (though that wouldn't hurt either), but theme-wise. Yes, vengeance is his thing, but he needs more, I think. It's time for his character to evolve a bit.
I don't think that makes him an idiot though. I think he's just blinded by rage and grief over the loss of his family and clan, and I don't think that's been depicted very well throughout the series becuase he keeps getting manipulated.
To me, this is why he comes off like an angry, raging moron at times, but I think that there could be a lot of depth there if NRS would just give him an emotional range that would and should go with someone losing literally everything that meant anything to them.
Maybe this is why he frustrates people? Scorpion is the creator's pet, yet he's still just not quite there yet in all aspects as a character.
I like him, and I still see his potential, but I do think that he has some noteable flaws that I hope NRS fixes in the future, becuase he does have legitimate main character potential that goes far beyond just shoving the recognizeable name down people's throats or being a series icon or whatever.
I voted for Ermac. I'm not that in to either of these characters (they're alright, I just like a lot of other characters more) but of these two, I like Ermac more.

Exactly. And thank you for naming your criticisms in a mature manner.Yeah nrs needs to show more emotional range, like his(and sub's) MK Legacy episodes. Those are the best representations of him so far.Even though he wasn't the ninja spectre.
Still rooting for Ermac. I adore him. My love for him is ridiculous considering he's a fictional character.
And if he wasn't, he'd probably try to kill me if I touched him. Or rip my arms off.
Oh well. :P
Get that ass BANNED
This became anti-climatic a loooong time ago...
Agreed. Nice job mko.
I still wish the matchups were randomized.
The fact that all the matchups were preselected kinda took away some of the fun, and setting them up to create certain outcomes made it worse.

If another one happens they should just make it random.

Agreed. I think the only even match of Round 1 was Ermac vs Reptile. They pitted a lot of less popular characters against more popular ones.
I believe it was 'semi-randomized'. Seriously, though, it seemed pretty set up to be a Scorpion vs Sub-Zero, although it appears that it may end up being Ermac vs Sub-Zero, which was probably TOTALLY unexpected. I honestly thought he'd be out by Round 3.
Oh well, I still think it was pretty entertaining. I really would have liked to see Rain, Nightwolf, Ashrah, and Skarlet get further than they did, but, you know. I was really surprised at Nightwolf getting out round 1, j/s.
Another one would be fun, but randomized completely.

After twenty years of Mortal Kombat, we ask the definitive question: Who is the Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion? Five intense rounds across three months have whittled away challengers from three decades, bringing us to the GRAND FINAL!
Sub-Zero: the Lin Kuei cryomancer and face of the series. The #1 seed, Sub-Zero has dominated the competition throughout, living up to expectations with the biggest victories of each round. The path of the tournament saw him eliminate a solid field of contenders; Daegon (R1), Frost (R2), Quan Chi (R3), Kitana (QF) and finally Raiden (SF).
Ermac: damned souls enslaved under the dark magic of Shao Kahn! A cult favourite born in arcade rumor, Ermac has grown from a red palette swap, to a fully realized fan-favourite character. A hard earned path saw him eliminate some of the biggest names in the series; Reptile (R1), Baraka (R2), Shang Tsung (R3), Smoke (QF) and finally Noob Saibot (SF).
From the Palace Gates of Shang Tsung's Island, to the very top of the Pyramid of Argus, right back to where it all began. Only one of these kombatants can be proclaimed the Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion! In this Year of the Dragon, celebrating the series' 20th Anniversary, now is the time to vote for the greatest of two. Who will reign supreme?... FIGHT!
Thanks redman for the sig!
Oh well, much as it pains me I'm voting for Sue-Zero. Kuai Liang's character actually was pretty cool (for the first time ever) in MK9, and I don't really see the appeal in Ermac.
So go ahead Sue, break him first.
