So-who do you guys think will win the next match? Smoke v. Liu Kang, to be a very interesting match. I still have not decided.

I'm voting for Smoke since I thought Liu Kang was just super annoying in the recent game. He was OK previously UNTIL ZOMBIE LIU KANG (why did that even happen). I really just don't like Liu Kang a whole lot. He always struck me as a cocky jerk instead of being the humbler warrior.

Smoke was the only character I was actually really sad to see die. His death scene made me extremely sad the first time I watched it. I really think they've given Smoke a good personality- he's a bit naive in my opinion, sure, but he's still an honorable warrior and a great friend to Sub-Zero. Also, enenra. That's awesome.

Man, I'm honestly kinda shocked at how much Shang Tsung, the original villain of MK, is losing to Ermac. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on anyone for voting the way they want to vote, I just don't think I've so thoroughly disagreed with the majority as I do right now.

Oh well.

As for Smoke and Liu Kang... That's a big toss up for me. I liked the way that Liu Kang played in the last one, but the guy just doesn't really do anything all that interesting.

Then you have Smoke, another ninja, who was kind of interesting in MK2011, even if I didn't like his hair, and I wasn't personally a fan of his ending. But as I said previously about Ermac, I'm not really one to take endings in to account until they're actually made canon by a future profile or story reference. But that's just me.

Anyways, I'm going to have to realy think about this one. I like both characters a lot, but there can be only one!!

Facts revealed in endings are canon until said otherwise. So, for now Ermac is Jerrod (in some sense).

Shang doesn't have the magic of the dickcape. And I know I bring them up a lot but I just really hate them.

Dude... Jerrod was only ONE of the many souls. It just so happens that Jerrod was the strongest of them all in his ending and took control over the being Ermac.

Also, has anyone else noticed that Raiden doesn't appear as the main picture in the first page considering he won the last battle? Johnny Cage's picture is still there. If this has already been addressed; please ignore.

That brings up an interesting point. Here is Classic Sub-Zero's ending in UMK3:

Having been killed in the first tournament, Sub-Zero somehow seems to have emerged to win the third tournament. However, upon removing his mask both the Outworld and the Earth-born warriors...

Are shocked to discover the true identity of this warrior. A warrior who has long been missing from a previous Mortal Kombat, and one who will return in the fourth tournament.

So does that mean that the Sub-Zero in UMK3 was actually a third Sub-Zero? One from a long time ago? Maybe he was the same Sub-Zero Shujinko meets in Deception.

Any MK scribes wanna help explain this one?

Well, as you know, the MK1 Sub-Zero isn't the MK2 Sub-Zero. The MK1 Sub-Zero is now Noob Saibot, with a real name of Bi-Han. His younger brother, the main Sub-Zero in the series, is named Kuai Liang. Bi-Han was still Sub-Zero in the first tournament, but was, in fact, killed by Scorpion in revenge. This Classic Sub-Zero is basically just Noob-Saibot with his original ice-powers. No Classic Sub-Zero is just the original Sub-Zero, there is no third.

I agree with J-R. Even though I think Noob is super annoying in the new game (just his movelist), I'm glad he beat Scorpion. Having the end result be Scorpion vs Sub-Zero is boring.

Well yeah that's what Classic Sub-Zero is supposed to be, the original Sub-Zero. But considering his ending hints that he's someone else entirely should we treat that as canon?
