Kinda makes me wonder why MKO's Fighting League just died a quick cold death earlier this week because of lack of attendance. Where were your amazing skills then? Why am I hearing about all these people who are supposedly badass at MK yet don't go near the matchmaking section?

Then Freddy contains an innate disadvantage because he can't be in story mode. It just makes more sense to put in a character who can fulfill both roles.

But, you make a good point about the moves. Though I must disagree about not seeing them again. We get talk about how "we want Tremor, we want some sort of Earth character." From some of the moves I've seen with Freddy, that ground move could easily morph into something that has to deal with Earth.
So, in some fashion, we could possibly see Freddy's move, technically animation but not the move directly itself.
The thing with these DLC characters, and I've stated this previously in a thread I made a while back, that could we see these characters making a return? Yeah, we will, fully developed unlike this, where they're just almost developed. But since they have no alternate, no voice, no important role in the story, I feel as if you know, they could have just waited with these guys to create for real for the next game.
But, I don't have an issue with them being DLC, though I just feel that if you're going to make this character come into the series, at least have them developed better.
But that's a whole different issue I rather not debate about right now. But, your point completely makes sense.
The reason I don't think Freddy's moves could be transferred to another canonical character is because of the ongoing signature debates. Fans have historically been negatively receptive towards giving signature moves to future additions. If they give the moves to an entirely new character, it might work, but I guess we'll see how that experiment turns out when it's conducted in the next game.
As for the canonical characters not having enough story impact, I somewhat agree, but there's once HUGE perk to having them in the present build: pre-balancing. Seeing how Kenshi/Skarlet function in this engine is going to do them wonders when they appears in later games.
