To be honest I think it would have made more sense to do klassic cyber Subby & Cyber smoke, even though unmasked subby is the better costume.

Just think of it this way sub-zero & smokes plotline where the ones most altered in this game, so it would have made sense, plus since Freddy's a joke character to begin with, it could have been a way for NRS to tongue and cheek the whole subby/smoke plotline as being a joke a well.

Unless Smoke's cyber costume is a new model that actually represents what he looked like in the previous timeline, then I'm really not interested. The mk3 cyborg design just can't compete with anything visually in this game.

People kept saying Cyber Smoke doesn't need to be a character because he can be a costume. If that is indeed going to be the case, then let's do it properly.

I don't know why you keep bringing back that fan-art picture of Sub-Zero when it looks nothing like how he did in MK3, as you have shown with the actual versus pose of the character. The design they have for him unmasked looks great and much more comparable to his old MK costume.
As for the hair, I don't know, the gelled-back looks kind of greasy to me in the versus pose, I sort of like the shorter, cleaner cut they gave to Kuai Liang now... It looks very comparable though, still similar.
And the last bit about Cyber Sub-Zero being an alternate costume for Kuai Liang, keep in mind that they play very differently, and some of us like Cyber Sub-Zero. That's like saying Noob Saibot is just an alternate for Sub-Zero.

I would say you are absolutely correct. The ONLY difference I can see between the Defender of the Realms Subby and this new MK3 costume, is that the gloves are just slightly different (this new costume's gloves have no fingers).

I think it's my fault, when i saw this thread for the first time I saw some long posts by you about what's wrong about him but I didn't keep track on the thread and when I entered again and saw you making the same suggestions at page 9 I though you were still with the same but I've seen you haven't said anything since that old comments.

Fucc it, just give all the ninjas the proper alts now. I mean, they have all the costumes already. Everyone's (well, these ninjas' fans anyway) happy. From Ermac to Sub-Zero. All the proper MK2 and MK3 outfits. Make it happen NRS.

Honestly, I don't think its based on that at all. My first thought on his costume appearing the way it does is that they have created a base model MK3 ninja outfit and simply modified it for Sub-Zero to have no mask + his scar. You may not be completely wrong here, but seeing as how this is the video game series and all other Klassic costumes before have been based on the video games, I would say that his unmasked look is too based on his MK3 appearance. Another thing to further back up my beliefs here is that with every other Klassic ninja outfit, whether it be from MK1 or 2, they have simply copied over the costume for other characters and re-colored them. I believe that we will eventually have UMK3 outfits for all the ninjas, and it was probably easier on the team to create that base model from the start with Subby here. Now, all they have to do is add the helmet and mask and re-color for the rest of the ninjas, and BAM, they got at least a few more costume DLC downloads to release in the future.

I'm the type to enjoy consistency, and I would have liked it much better if they made unmasked Sub look just like he did in MK3. They have got it right, down to the T, for every other Klassic outfit released thus far. But then we get unmasked Sub with a UMK3 outfit, which just isn't how he looked, so yeah it bothers me based on that fact. However, I don't think he looks bad, and I'm happy that we are even getting his unmasked attire. Also, it bothers me that Boon said we wouldn't get an MK2 Skarlet costume, even though her rumor began with that game, yet we get Klassic Cyber Sub-Zero who never existed back then at all. Why couldn't they just give Smoke his MK3 Cyber uniform instead of this? I mean really, if they can take the time to have a human Sektor and Cyrax as alternate outfits, they could have surely added a few extra things to make a Cyber Smoke alternate react different when chosen as well.

It's probably not BASED on that design... but it sure as hell looks nearly identical to it.

yes he does. freddy was always a cheesy guy to an extent and so is mk itself. thats why hes such a perfect fit.

Im pretty sure defenders of the realms was not canon, and any request for UMK3 Scorpion is bs cuz his MK4 outfit is better cuz of the skull mask.

My cousin in Europe told me he somehow obtained the compatibility pack by hacks and claimed Classic Zyber Sub's alt color is indigo to represent Cyber-Smoke.
