Cool, Sub is one of my mains but I always hated his MK3 look but I actually like it now, and Cyber Sub is fuckin awesome so this is cool too, also I have the Season Pass so its no skin of my nose. Also I never play online so it works out:)

No one is saying there are reserved spots, though. The fact is that they they had two choices: to implement a character who could permanently expand the engine and mythology, or to implement a character who would would not and probably could not continue to expand on the franchise.

They chose the latter when they could have chosen the former. In that sense, he IS a replacement. This is not a merit system. These limitations are logically sewn into the nature of the characters. We will never see Freddy's moveset again, while Tanya's moves could have set the foundation for her MK10 gameplay. That's a huge problem.

And he's not a gift if you're paying for him.

can somebody please make a true UMK3 Ninja outfit (Scorp) out of the unmasked subbie render with the reptile, ermac, and rain vs pose masks and also a proper mk3 subbie out of said render too please, i would do it myself but i don't have the programs or the know how thank you.

No one is afraid of trying something new, the feeling that I get from a lot of people is that they don't want anything that isn't MK in this game. Which, is somewhat sad, but it's understandable. Just the way that all of this was handle was too immaturely. That's a bugger.

But because all the other characters, such as Cage, Sonya, Jax, doesn't get as much publicity as Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Mileena, not too many will get the costume due to the fact that it's featuring Sub-Zero.

Permanently implementing a non-canon MK character would be bad for the story. I don't think that's a controversial view.

i think thats kind of hypocritical because if they truely hated the idea of guest charachters than why like something that features them?

Granted that a gift is something that you wouldn't buy, I still feel that guest characters are somewhat gifts to the fans to appreciate a little bit more.

But, you make a good point about the moves. Though I must disagree about not seeing them again. We get talk about how "we want Tremor, we want some sort of Earth character." From some of the moves I've seen with Freddy, that ground move could easily morph into something that has to deal with Earth.

So, in some fashion, we could possibly see Freddy's move, technically animation but not the move directly itself.

The thing with these DLC characters, and I've stated this previously in a thread I made a while back, that could we see these characters making a return? Yeah, we will, fully developed unlike this, where they're just almost developed. But since they have no alternate, no voice, no important role in the story, I feel as if you know, they could have just waited with these guys to create for real for the next game.

But, I don't have an issue with them being DLC, though I just feel that if you're going to make this character come into the series, at least have them developed better.

But that's a whole different issue I rather not debate about right now. But, your point completely makes sense.

Street Fighter and Tekken are two different fighting games that shouldn't be compared in this situation. Because they're two fighting games that are almost alike while you have MK and DC sharing a game together, two franchises that are completely different where one company doesn't want their characters getting decapitated and slaughtered while the other company does.

So no, that's not being hypocritical. Now if it was something down the line as MK vs KI, then yes you can if that user previously lashed out about not wanting guest characters.

You know I am one of those people who's more interested in the story as well right?

Not one person here is implying that if Freddy makes some sort of an appearance in this game, he's going to fuck the entire story altogether. That's not what everyone is complaining about. There's not been one person bringing up the story for their issue. The main issue is that it could have gone to a MK character, that's it.

And I can point out a fair amount of MK characters who's endings have been canon. But that would be an off-topic conversation, which this is already leading into.

everyone knew this current game was a reboot wich imo was smart ( and i never usually enjoy reboots at all). this time around the devs were able to really give mk a real rooted story.


back in the 90s you had all these palet swaps but today we get al these cool good looking charachters

back in the day people would say oh man how cool would freddy or jason be in mk. so fast forward to 2011 we get him in and now people just basicly go omg omg panic mode he dosent belong in mk. i goda have another alt costume for a charachter who allready has 3 or 4 as it is.
