I think Kratos will be a good addition to MK, very fitting, IMO. It just sucks that hes a PS3 exclusive. Heres to hoping there is a cheat to bring him into the xbox version.

Well fighting experience aside. How he could fit? My opinions...

- Manipulative Character, (Similar) to Shang Tsung, prevented death after his failure in MK1. Needles fooled Calypso in that Vile of Holy Water to stop the burn. And Decapitated him good!

- Insane Landlord (Similar) to Shao Kahn who is bent on destruction and taking over the realms for himself. Needles is like this in TMHO when he grants corrupt wishes and makes an alliance with Marcus forming Tower Tooth.

- Pain Relief (Similar) to Scorpion to the degree that he has a Flaming head. So I doubt pain would come easy.

- Weapons Expert, not really similar to anyone. But the dude has shit mounted to his Ice cream truck. Obviously he knows a thing or two about what Works.

Hes already been confirmed to not have a story mode and won't be involved in the story. He is simply an extra versus character who fits in better then 80% of the god damn cast they spewed out in their last 5-6 outings.

I thought SF had a pussy community, I figured a game where blood and gore was widely accepted and expected that the community would have atleast a little bit of a sack about a GUEST character. I would LOVE Sweet Tooth to be in this game instead of Kratos.

He's a much more unique and creative character. Very fun design and an unpredictable twisted mind. Way more entertaining than this typical macho guy.

Wow all you people that are complaining about Kratos being in need 2 find something to do with your lives. Seriously, complaining about an outside character that will have no story or anything to do cannon wise but only add another playable character and more play value 2 the game is like complaining about a brand new car that comes with extra bright lights that are made from an outside company. If u dont like or want to use the lights, then don't turn them on. It's as simple as that. Problem solved, case closed, period. If you don't like Kratos being in then don't use him. Problem solved, case closed, period. He has NOTHING to do with the story or cannon in any way shape or form. All he is is an EXTRA that was added in. They already knew how many characters they wanted in the game. Kratos being in, didn't take away from having any more MK characters in. He is obviously an extra added that was probably added way after the story and roster was set. We will get more characters with dlc and Kratos will probably be dlc himself but if he isnt then don't play him!!!

Wow lol.. Just look at the majority of the responses towards this reveal (facebook, TRMK, MKO).. Most people are sad, disappointed, pissed, you name it. And that towards a "back-to-the-roots-fan-service" game. Hmm... Maybe they should take a look at other definitions of "fan service" (e.g. Capcom's).

The majority of your core fanbase is obviously pissed and made it clear long ago they didn't want Kratos in the game, another part doesn't care much, and another small part finds this an "awesome" development. I can see the NRS/WB team sitting around a table going "ahh fuck em, its the sales that matter. Who gives a shit about what they think? They are gonna buy anyway.". Lol

The roster was not finalized. This was actually mentioned by Boon in the GTTV Jax reveal. There was also this dude who brought up the whole Kratos idea in one of the videos months ago in which they actually ask developers of MK and GoW to which they respond in a way of "yeah, it would be cool but there are lots of legal and other issues to deal with" bla bla bla.. You could say they were keeping it a secret, but I say it was not decided back then. Kratos has been recently added to the game, I have no doubt.

It is sad that I say this, but at this point I rather have Hsu Hao in the game over Kratos. Or, imagine if they actually spent that time creating a whole new MK character... But no point in whining now. Just have to beat the shit out of Kratos now. Next time, a little more faith in your fans and in your own identity, NRS.

Jaffe said Ed told him about it way back at E3, so Kratos was always going to be on the roster guys. If this was brought up before and they cleverly threw in little clues... well, that's just how the MK team has always been. Leaving little clues while not coming out and saying things for a while, that goes back to the old days of 2D and arcade secrets.

I LOVED the trailer in itself though. Everything about it until the "reveal". I'm probably just looking too far into it, but I got "Kratos is better than Mortal Kombat" out of that. AGAIN: I'm probably just looking too far into it and in the long run I won't care.

I did like the music that played as it showed Kratos. And I'm sure he's going to play well.

This is the fasted anybody has ever had a character banned from tournament play. Kratos shows up and I already know he's banned.. Ps3 exclusive means half of the mk supports will not be able to play as him and gain experience therefore the ones that do have an unfair advantage which equals banned :D.

As far as him being in the game. I have no choice but to accept it. As much as I love Kratos and God of War. This wasn't his time to join the roster. This is taking mk back to its roots and Kratos, as well as all guest characters should be absent. Didn't know Kratos was a part of their roots. Being a part of the story or not, this could have waited till mk10. I'm damn happy the 360 version is so far free of guest characters.

Everyone thats arguing about peoples complaints its simple. Those people are MK purists. Also Considering we were lied to from the very beginning is a little frustrating. I remember hearing right from Boons lips "we aren't gonna do any exclusive content. We want the people to have an equal experience". What happened Boon? Seriously, Having him on the game is just a giant fucking laceration in the "back to the roots" and "love letter to the fans" feel. It no longer feels like it's going back too its roots. No longer feels like its for the fans.. Considering all the hate this reveal has gotten they did the exact OPPOSITE of what the fans wanted That's why people are upset. We were all deceived. The people that don't want him won't play as him, but that doesn't stop the eyesore of him being a part of what used to be a pure mk game.

I'm an mk purist and mkvsdcu proved that having anything other then mk in an mk game turns it into an mk nightmare. Kratos may be banned from tournament play, but that will not stop him from appearing on playstation network. Chances are he'll be broken and the character that all the cheaters and move spammers use. He'll probably have infinites because I honestly doubt the mk team spent as much time on him as they have on the actual mk characters.

Mk needs to be the selling point for mk. You need mk to sell an mk centric game. If they advertise a character that isn't from the mk universe, its without a doubt showing that the mk team thinks Kratos and the God of War series better then his 18 years of work. That's pretty fucked up. With all that said. I'm a 360 owner so I won't have to deal with Kratos. I honestly being an mk purist would prefer him not being there and both games being equal. It is what it is however, and he's in. I just hope he isn't broken for the ps3 owners. Anyway, Kratos, Ryu Hayabusa, and a very limited amount of characters I believe would fit the mk game. Come to think of it I played the hell out of Spawn in soul calibur lol. A lot of people are just disappointed and scared because of this new development. After all of the turds they've thrown at the community adding another guest character reminds people to much of mkvsdcu and they along with myself are afraid that putting in the time and effort to add a guest character into the game could of been better spent on more important things. They didn't make Kratos outshine any of the MK characters. It was his debut announcement...of course they had to make him shine. That's how it works. Make him look like a badass. An equal contender.

Anyways...he didnt even look superior to anyone. He attacked Sub from behind, saving him when you think about it. And then Scorp and him were about to do battle. 2 icons clashing. Sheer awesomeness. He didnt make anyone look inferior or like hes better.

I wonder if you know how many people like this or are indefferent towards it. It's actually a small percentage that hate it. Just because these boards are dedicated to MK hardcore fans, doesn't mean we make up a good voice for every fan and gamer out there. So the people that hate it may be the majority vote, even though it's still only about 60/40, on this board...look anywhere else or ask any other casual MK fan or gamer, and they'll think it's sweet. IceBaby put it best, refer to her post for a better understanding.

The same happened for MKvsDCU, you could find hate comments everywhere about that game but it sold over 1.9 million copies.

Also, if any of you have millions of dollars to throw down up front, I'm sure NRS would be happy to make a game for you exactly how you want it. But you don't have the wads of cash it takes to make these games. WB does. It's their game. Period.
