I liked Takeda a lot and was down on Kitana in MKX but because its the 25th anniversary Im thinking more about original games. Which made me realize something. If you take out revisions Kitana was only in MK2, Deadly Alliance, Armageddon, MK9 and MKX. Which seems weird for such an important character. Just something I noticed.
She was also in MK3 and Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Mortal Kombat Unchained and MKvsDC. Do you remember? And she was going to be in MK4 but she was replaced with Tanya, and appeared in MK Gold.
Scorpion is just Scorpion to me. Always gonna be there but lacks substance as a character. Bit boring to me.

Seemed pretty clear to me.
I hate all that pathetic crying about Scorpion being the popular kid in school. He is a totally awesome character. But so is Kotal Kahn! When they showed him at E3 that year I was like what is this Tekken Ogre garbage? But it turned out he is an instant classic! Im like where has Kotal been all this time? So I guess Im amazed the poll is 50/50 but I feel the same way!

I'm not really thinking if its good or bad. I just never thought of it before. Kitana is one of the big icons but for a while she was kind of in and out. When MK4 came out it seemed like all that Edenia stuff was over and done with. even though she always gets added in the end. I forgot all about MKvsDC Universe lol.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Kung Lao versus Erron Black
#11 Supreme Ranking #17
11 wins 5 losses Record 4 wins 2 losses
Quarters (2012) Best Result Round 3 (2015)
Kung Lao shares his name with a great Mortal Kombat Champion, but the man beneath the brim is his modern descendant! Leaving the shadows in MKII, the White Lotus warrior joined the fight with Liu Kang to defend the Earth from the threat Outworld! In MK3 they drove Shao Kahn out, and in MK Gold he returned to thwart Shinnok and avenge his ancestor's death by cutting Goro! He ascended to greater heroism when the Deadly Alliance killed Liu Kang. In the rebooted timeline, this time it was Kung Lao whose neck was snapped -- his life ended by Shao Kahn! He became a revenant slave to Quan Chi, returning in MKX to this time invade the Earth, and bedevil his young cousin Kung Jin!
Erron Black shares his name with a wild west gunslinger, but the man beneath the grim is in fact the same mercenary! His youth was extended by the magic of Shang Tsung, allowing him to execute his deadly trade with the benefit of time and patience! Though human in origin, he found his way to the realm of Outworld, where he now serves new Emperor Kotal Kahn as part of his misfit cabinet of bodyguards and enforcers. An addition new to MKX, he has a bullet with every fighter's name on it, already amassing a list of enemies in the Special Forces and Black Dragon!
They enter the arena hidden beneath their hat. One masters the fighting arts of fist and foot, while the other commands an arsenal of exotic weaponry! Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
He just can't ever catch a break in this thing.
Erron Black is a breath of fresh air, so I guess I'll go with him. He's just so cool!
Hes more interesting overall than Erron Blsck. MKX wasn't a great game for him but its only one out a load of good games.
Erron Black is another boring new addition for me. Another random lacky for hire. Not a fan of a gunslinger in mk, personally.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Shinnok versus Fujin
#21 Supreme Ranking #5
7 wins 5 losses Record 18 wins 4 losses
Round 3 (2014) Best Result Champion (2015)
Shinnok was once among the ranks of Elder Gods, but found himself banished to the Netherrealm for crimes committed against them! In the eternal fire, he plotted his revenge, launching an assault against the Heavens in MK4! Thwarted by Raiden and Earth's champion Liu Kang, he returned to the inferno, only to make allies of his nemesis during Armageddon! Raiden undid this reality by altering the past, allowing Shinnok another chance at revenge. In the new timeline Edenia remained a part of Outworld, leading Shinnok to successfully invade the Earthrealm itself! MKX revealed his defeat by two generations of Cage, but the legacy of his corrupting influence may yet come to pass...
Fujin is the Earth's god of wind, and loyal second to the realm's protector - Raiden! When the Heavens were attacked by demon hordes of the Netherrealm, Fujin joined the fight in MK4 to defeat Shinnok! He briefly succeeded Raiden when he ascended to Elder God status, but was relieved of his duty until Armageddon, when the thunderer exhibited a new darkness. When the timeline was rebooted, Fujin's name was again blowing in the wind. He remained on the periphery, standing with Raiden during MKX story mode on the final verge before Earth's Jinsei spirit! He never made it to the playable roster, awaiting an uncertain future.
Their powered has shaped the very destiny of Mortal Kombat! They are among the few gods whose influence has been felt directly throughout twenty-five years of distance. Whose power is supreme? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
... here's your Subzero, now plain zero.
Voted Fujin based on potential alone: his possible moves involving the Lui He style interests me. I imagine he could expand, collapse or puncture an opponent's lung with wind magic. The updated costume, his calm godlike personality and the Wind Staff are all welcome new revisions, no doubt we will be seeing more from him.
Fujin is the exact opposite of this. Fujin's done nothing and BEEN nothing for 20 years.
I vote Shinnok.
They did a good job with him in MKX compared to MK4 and MKA.
Fujin on the other hand....well a minute or two of cameo just didn't cut it. He has potential but given Neatherrealms boner for Raiden and insistence on him being in every game and the main storyteller, we're not likely to see Fujin develop much sadly.
Also can't believe Black beat Lao.
Fujin is a secondary god who hasn't come back.
I wanted and expected to see Fujin in MKX like everybody else but it just didnt happen. He never should have won. that just made it seem like fans have no perspective of reality. If he comes back I think it would be good to see him elevated like the end of MK4.
Also can't believe Black beat Lao.
I am shocked! Its getting harder to predict who wins!

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 3:
Noob Saibot versus Sonya Blade
#2 Supreme Ranking #18
22 wins 4 losses Record 9 wins 5 losses
Champion (2016) Best Result Quarters (2013)
Noob Saibot was a lurking black wraith hidden in MKII, but as we learned years later, he first appeared in the Shaolin Tournament as Sub-Zero! The elder ice warrior was Bi-Han, murdered by Scorpion and converted to the Brotherhood of Shadows by Quan Chi. He was a loyal follower of Shinnok in MKT and MK4, before seeking his own power as the leader of a cyber-oni clan in Deception and Armageddon. In the reboot timeline his fate was repeated, his services loaned to the Outworld invasion of Earthrealm. He was last seen being consumed by the puirty of a soulnado, thrown to an uncertain fate by Nightwolf.
Sonya Blade is the first lady of Kombat, whose pursuit of justice as a member of the US Special Forces brought her to the Shaolin Tournament in search of Kano! She was dragged into the realm of Outworld, returning in MK3 alongside Jax to fight Shao Kahn's invasion and stop Kano once and for all. As a founder of the Outerworld Investigation Agency she pledged her service to defending the realm. In MK4 the OIA fought back Shinnok, and got pro-active amidst the rise of the Deadly Alliance! In the reboot timeline, Sonya was one of only two survivors of the Outworld invasion. Sharing a brief romance with Johnny Cage, she rose to the rank of General and mother to a new generation of warriors! In MKX she fights on the frontline to stop the Netherrealm consuming the Earth!
Present since the beginning of the series - they are both stalwart icons of twenty-five years of Mortal Kombat! Their souls are beacons for good and evil, life and death. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Uh! This poll is actually mano a mano! Noob Saibot is a good character that everybody wait his return. Sonya, I didn't like to much how NTR developed her in MKX, physically it's obvious that she has the same base skin that Kitana and Jacqui.
You think so? I thought MKX was one of the best Sonyas ever! I like that she feels more military than she ever has. I am very interested to see how they continue Noob Saibot but its the 25th anniversary and Sonya is just in such a good place. Ive got to vote for her.
Feel like there's been a wind of change in this year's competition and I must say it's refreshing. A lot of results (especially yesterday's) have been genuinely a surprise.
I agree there were a few results that were a bit off but overall its been really good this year! I just hope we get a winner worthy of the 25th anniversary.

I agree.
