TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Mileena versus Kintaro
#13 Supreme Ranking #43
10 wins 5 losses Record 3 wins 5 losses
Semis (2015) Best Result Round 2 (2012)
Mileena was a deadly assassin in the service of Outworld when she lept into battle in MKII. Created from the synthesis of Edenian and Tarkatan genetic material, she is a vicious, fanged mirror image of her "sister" Kitana. She watched her double with envious eyes, coveting her natural beauty and rightful place upon the Edenian throne. In the reboot timeline, Mileena emerged from the Flesh Pits with a childlike outlook. Maturing in MKX, she finally achieved the dream of seizing power, inheriting the Outworld throne once occupied by Shao Kahn. Forces loyal to Kotal Kahn ousted Mileena as her allies fell or turned against her. Waging civil war against her enemies, Mileena was ultimately executed by D'Vorah in a caper to claim Shinnok's amulet. Empress Mileena may be dead, but the Flesh Pits coughed up many clones. Long live Mileena!
Kintaro was the second Shokan to assume sub-boss status when he debuted in MKII. Serving The Emperor as his highest enforcer, Kintaro ruled the colosseum with brute strength and intimidation.Motivated by the apparent loss of Goro, Kintaro returned to obscurity once the four-armed Prince returned to the series. After appearing in Armageddon, Kintaro was again cast as one of Outworld's deadliest warriors during the restaged Outworld invasion. Last seen in MKX tie-in comics, he fought alongside the beseiged Shokan Empire, who were decimated by the Black Dragon. On the shores of Shang Tsung's island, Kintaro seemingly drowned as the fleet was decimated by Havik. Only to survive long enough to be decapitated by Havik's corrupted Sonya Blade.
For almost twenty-five years they've been two of Outworld's most feared kombatants! Chosen warriors of Emperors and Queens, their allegiance now turns against one another. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Ive never been a huge fan of either tbh.
The tiger shokan always interested me more than Goro and I always wanted him to return in the series. His MKA look was pretty good as was his MK9.
Mileena to me has always been rather boring, in the original timeline I always felt she had a boring story (just another minion and/or wanting to be Kitana) and in MK9 I hated the childlike persona. I did like her more in MKX though, I liked what they did with her in that game and the comics, and I think she looked her best. So although it improved her she still isn't up there with my favourites.
Jesus, Mick, what's with these difficult matchups?? 0_o :)

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Sektor versus Sub-Zero
#38 Supreme Ranking #1
3 wins 5 losses Record 22 wins 4 losses
Round 2 (2014) Best Result Champion (2012)
Sektor started simply, one of the cyber-assassins in pursuit of Sub-Zero in MK3. He remained a loyal weapon of his clan in MKGold, monitoring the loyalties of fellow cyborg Cyrax. By Armageddon, his true colors had emerged. Sektor's designs for powers gave way to a new clan of cold, soulless killing machines known as the Tekuning. When reality was rebooted, the threat of the Tekunin was averted. Instead, the willing Sektor submitting to Lin Kuei's automation program again, this time successful in capturing Sub-Zero. In doing so, he sealed his fate. MKX tie-in comics showed Sektor as new Grandmaster of the clan, only to be destroyed by Cyrax and the returned Sub-Zero. His legacy lives on in the robotic Triborg.
Sub-Zero first inherited the mantle of his elder brother in MKII. The secret passage of his identity drew Scorpion to mistakenly pursue his death, only to take a vow of protection upon learning the truth. Sub-Zero was a fugitive to his own clan in MK3, unmasked and on the run from their forced automation plan. Scorpion was again tricked to attack him in MK4, all part of a grand scheme by Quan Chi. As the necromancer rose in Deadly Alliance, Sub-Zero became Grandmaster of a reformed Lin Kuei. He learned more about his heritage as a natural cryomancer in Deception -- forced to fight his past in Armageddon when his elder brother led a clan of Netherrealm cyber-oni against him! The reboot timeline saw Sub-Zero capured and transformed into a soulless killing machine. He died fighting for his realm, and was remade in flesh as a Netherrealm revenant controlled by Quan Chi. He was last seen in MKX, restored to life and once again leading a new Lin Kuei.
Their duelling fates tell a tale of the fall and rise of the Lin Kuei clan. Each a Grandmaster in their own right, they pursue different visions for the clan's glory. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
For me he is simply one of the best characters in gaming in general, let alone the MK series. His play styles hasn't really clicked with me in the last few games though, but Is till like (trying) to use him.
Sektor to me is another in the large list of 'meh' characters in the series. His story is ok but nothing special, his gameplay has been decent too. I guess though I just always preferred Cyrax.
Anyway, I voted for Sektor. His human form...mrrow. :)
Don't know about you but I feel most of the results so far have been different than years past (Sheeva over Smoke, the Kombat Kids losing so decisively).

Sub-Zero wishes he could look as fine as Sektor does while wearing propane tanks strapped to his back.
huehuehuehuehuehue

People love to bitch about it being the same every year but if you actually look at the results from other years it clearly is not! Which is probably why nobody ever actually predicts who will win!

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Ermac versus Hotaru
#3 Supreme Ranking #68
20 wins 4 losses Record 1 wins 4 losses
Champion (2014) Best Result Round 2 (2017)
Ermac is the chaos of lost souls given order in the form of a singular entity! A hoax made reality, the red warrior jumped into the games in UMK3, before materializing with a true sense of identity in MK Deception. Plot strands weaved in Deadly Alliance told us of his days wandering chaotically before he forged a camaraderie with Kenshi. Ermac became a heroic leader of lost souls, liberating heroes from the influence of The Dragon King until reality was rewritten. In the new timeline, he was again a slave to Shao Kahn, acting as enforcer during the invasion of Earthrealm. This time he wandered into the service of Kotal Kahn during MKX.
Hotaru debuted in MK Deception as part of the inter-realm conflict between beings of Order and Chaos. A Seidan Guardsman, he seeks structure and control at all costs -- pledging allegiance to the resurrected Dragon King in the hopes of restoring order to the chaos of an Outworld without a clear leader. Higher ideals continued to take his attentions away from the fight against enemies such as Havik of Chaosrealm, and Darrius - leader of the Seiden resistance. When the timeline was rebooted post-Armageddon, Hotaru and the warriors of Order returned to obscurity. Their future remains uncertain -- something that no doubt vexes him.
They were two strong identities crystallized during the home console era of Mortal Kombat: Deception! Their allegiance does not always reflect their true loyalty. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Tbh Ermac is a character Im a bit torn on. I was never a fan of him in UMK3/MKT, but I really like what they did with him in MKD. Such a great development and look. But then, I haven't liked at all what they have done with him in the reboot timeline, just another mindless bad guy. I really hope he gets better development in future games.
Hotaru never interested me. Wasn't a massive fan of the Chaos-Order arc, and I didn't like his look personally.
Ermac is a cool character, but for some reason he never clicked with me. Probably because his origin, i.e. palette swap of Sub-Zero and Scorpion in UMK3, was unimpressive.
You can go about your business.
Move along.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 2:
Drahmin versus Havik
#58 Supreme Ranking #35
2 wins 5 losses Record 4 wins 5 losses
Round 2 (2014) Best Result Round 3 (2016)
Drahmin gave a new face to the evils of the Netherrealm when he debuted in Deadly Alliance. A warlord whose cruelty thrived in the 5th plane, he became the drreaded Oni Tormentor. The asymmetrical attack of a spiked iron club fixed to one of his hands made him a unique fighter for a new generation of kombat, but has also damned him to only appear once more, in Armageddon. He was last seen in MKX tie-in comics, again serving the necromancer Quan Chi in the Netherrealm. Quan Chi and the revenant Liu Kang ensured his destruction for his failures.
Havik entered the fray of Deception as a wildcard kombatant from a realm of chaos. Intent on sewing seeds of dissent and unrest, he worked to aid the causes most likely to spark new conflict. Despite his supposed anarchic existence, Havik proves calculating in his methods for madness. Last seen in MKX tie-in comics, he manipulated a vast network of warriors, from Raiden to Reiko! His scheme to corrupt kamidogu daggers with blood magik ultimately served the whims of Quan Chi. Scorpion damned Havik to the Netherrealm, where Quan Chi crushed his decapitated head.
They itnroduced disparate new facets to the vast realms of Mortal Kombat, yet found their fates inter-twined in the pits of the Netherrealm! Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
I vote for the Cleric of Chaos over the Oni Tormentor.
Havik is whatever. Comic was this whole elaborate scheme (so much for chaos?) and then Havik gets gored and it was Quan Chi all aloooong. Should have just neck stretched the bozo.
