TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Ferra/Torr versus Scorpion
#29 Supreme Ranking #16
3 wins 3 losses Record 8 wins 5 losses
Round 2 (2015) Best Result Semis (2013)
Ferra/Torr are another of the strange inhabitants hailing from Outworld. Two beings operating in unity, they are a symbiotic whole: Ferra - the diminutive brains that pilots the hulking brawn of Torr! This unusual tandem brought something unique to both the characters and the playstyle of Mortal Kombat X! They appear to be of an ancient race of mounts and riders, but their true origins remain shrouded in mystery. Savage and powerful, they serve Kotal Kahn as deadly bodyguards.
Scorpion was once the Shirai Ryu ninja Hanzo Hasashi, cut down in coldblood by nemesis Sub-Zero. Despite his death, he stalked the first Mortal Kombat as a Netherrealm spectre hellbent on revenge. He got it, but mistook Sub-Zero's younger brother for his nemesis in MKII. Inadvertently released by the invasion plot of UMK3, Scorpion returned to defend the younger Sub-Zero -- only to renew hostilities under the manipulation of Quan Chi, in MK4. In Deadly Alliance, Scorpion pursued the necromancer doggedly - his infernal body torn apart when it was thrown to the purity of a soulnado. Instead of passing on, Hanzo's soul now became a tool of the Elder Gods! His enemy was now The Dragon King who threatened the balance of reality, but when the danger escalated to Armageddon, Scorpion turned on his duplicitous ethereal masters. When Raiden rewrote the timeline, Scorpion was doomed to relive the tragedy of his early afterlife. This time he remained a pawn of Quan Chi, invading the Earth with other forces of Netherrealm, until he is enlightened by the powers of Raiden. Human once more, he dedicated himself to redemption and a new Shirai Ryu clan, accepting the son of Kenshi as his greatest student. Death would continue to dog the clan, as told in MKX tie-in comics, but Scorpion remains on a path of righteous vengeance, slaying Quan Chi while defending the Earth from Shinnok's return.
These warrior walk from the shadow of mystery, serving masters with tempestuous souls. They grapple with internal conflict of blind aggression, seeking their place in the order of grand events. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Kung Lao versus D'Vorah
#11 Supreme Ranking #36
10 wins 5 losses Record 2 wins 3 losses
Quarters (2012) Best Result Round 2 (2016)
Kung Lao joined the new wave of fighters in MKII: a descendented of his Great namesake - Earth's legendary former champion! With deadly razor-tipped hat, the White Lotus fighter proved a valued ally in the fight against Outworld. He returned in MK3 to oppose the Invasion of Earthrealm, and again in MK Gold, seeking to avenge his ancestor's death at Goro's many hands. Kung Lao was forced to leave the shadows permanently in Deadly Alliance, assuming a heroic role after his Shaolin brother Liu Kang was murdered. He trained in new attacks to rise to the new challenge, but was slain and enslaved by The Dragon King. His restoration was short lived in Armageddon when history was rewritten by Raiden. This time his presence in Outworld led to his demise - killed at the hands of The Emperor himself! Kung Lao thus became a revenant soldier under Quan Chi's power, fighting for Shinnok and the Netherrealm in MKX. It remains to be seen if his soul will overcome the evil gripping it, survived by his younger cousin Kung Jin.
D'Vorah was part of a new swarm of kombatants in Mortal Kombat X! A rare example of the Kytinn species of the merged Arnyek realm, she breaks away from the swarm, acting as advisor to new Outworld Emperor - Kotal Kahn. Atypical loyalty for her species hid her true motives of serving the necromancer Quan Chi and the fallen elder god Shinnok! Vital in thwarting Mileena's plans for conquest, she killed the would-be Empress, stealing her amulet to return it to it's true master: Shinnok. Wielding mastery over deadly insects as well as her own impressive powers -- D'Vorah is a force to be reckoned with in the future!
They have each helped usher in bold new eras of Mortal Kombat! They once represented the inner circle of ancient organizations. In the present age, their tainted souls served the wim of dark masters. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Shao Kahn did nothing wrong
No vote this round.
Kung Lao is a classic and I really liked his Revenant skin but he needs to go away for a while.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Erron Black versus Jacqui Briggs
#17 Supreme Ranking #49
3 wins 2 losses Record 1 win 2 losses
Round 3 (2015) Best Result Round 2 (2015)
Erron Black is the old west gunslinger who brought something new to Mortal Kombat X. An Earthrealm mercenary fighting on the side of Outworld, he serves Kotal Kahn with crackshot accuracy, an arsenal of accrued weapons, and an extended lifespan thanks to a job he once did for Shang Tsung! In tie-in comics he helped the Black Dragon stalk the new generation of kombat: Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs. In MKX, he clashed with them again as the young Special Forces, working to drive them out of the realm as Shinnok threatened everything.
Jacqui Briggs is one of the new breed of Earthrealm defenders born into Mortal Kombat X! The daughter of Major Jackson "Jax" Briggs; she spentmuch of her childhood without a father. Born after Jax was enslaved as a revenant soldier in Quan Chi's Netherrealm army, she spent much of her youth in the company of Cassie Cage and her family. Following in her father's footsteps, she's a tech-enhanced soldier with the Special Forces -- something Jax isn't entirely happy about when he returns to life. Papa needn't worry. Jacqui faces the dangers of Outworld and Netherrealm with the guts and fighting spirit embodied by her father!
They're two of the new faces of Mortal Kombat! Warriors of Earthrealm, they represent two eras of weapons warfare. One is enhanced with magic, the other technology. Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Although not the most interesting new addition to the cast, I like Jacqui much more than some of the newcomers in the series, and some of the mainstays for that matter too. Definitely not as obnoxious and in your face as Cassie, which is good, but she does show some sass in her intros which I like. She is a bit of a cliché tho, following in her fathers footsteps and having tech but I really hope they can differentiate her from Jax more in the future games, as she'll undoubtedly be back.
I felt that the developers did Jacqui a bit of an injustice. She never got a big reveal at the time and from what I remember she never was the focus of any webcasts about her gameplay until after the game launched. She just sort of just appeared. All the other newcomers got a big reveal and hype and so Jacqui just fell flat with a lot of people.
Erron Black doesn't interest me at all. Not a fan of the cowboy gunslinger look and, opposite to Jacqui, he received too much hype and was too in your face before the game began. He is another lacky with a pretty boring back story. Seems to me like he is set up to take over from Kano as the resident henchman that everyone inevitably hires. Yawn.
Also went with Kung Lao over D'Vorah. Kung Lao has always been a favourite of mine, especially since MKDA period where they made him a bit more edgy than Liu Kang and also sort of like the rivalry between the two and how Kung Lao is sort of jealous of Raiden favouring Liu. It add a good dynamic to what would be two otherwise boring heroes. And the hat is frickin cool! Much like Kitana, I wasn't keen on him staying a revenant in the timeline, but it will be interesting to see where they go with him. I wonder how he will get on with Liu/Kitana as emperor/empress, will he try and overthrow them? Or will he be enlightened and regian his human form?
D'Vorah I do really like and it was an interesting concept to introduce a bug-lady. I wasn't massively keen on the twist that she was serving Shinnok all along tho, that's my only gripe. But hopefully she'll return and we will get more development about her and her species.
Jacqui is an awful character.
However, Erron caught my attention with the cowboy schtick and was more badass in the comic than the game, while he -- forgive me for repeating myself -- is in that awesome stable headed by Kotal Kahn (dat ending) that I hope will be a factor in MK11. Nonetheless, I have to ask: Why didn't the Seahawks run the ball? Why didn't Erron shoot Rain??
Jacqui, meanwhile, may be the most unoriginal MK character since Kobra, and metal legs (what's people's fixation with that, anyway?) ain't going to fix her severe lack of charisma, while her forced romance with Takeda was just silly.
Erron Black has grown on me and he gets my vote. But most characters would get a vote over Jacqui. I don't think Jacqui is completely irredeemable, but they really need to give her an interesting hook in the next game because she really has nothing.
I agree. Jacqui just has nothing going on to identify her like most characters. She is just Jax lite in gameplay and Cassie lite in personality. Oh and she has a crush on Takeda who is a much more interesting character. I dont know if robot legs would help but she needs something.
I like Erron Black a lot and vote for him. I always like when classic MK and other fighting games incorporate basic character types or references. A bounty hunter gunslinger was interesting and I like the way they gave him details that make him a very MK version of it. Like a lot of characters I just hope he can develop his own stories. Maybe in the next game Kobra or Jax or someone will be after him.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Shinnok versus Tanya
#21 Supreme Ranking #39
6 wins 5 losses Record 2 wins 5 losses
Round 3 (2014) Best Result Round 2 (2014)
Shinnok: The former Elder God who was banished to the inferno of the Netherrealm. Once there he overthrew the realm's ruler, establishing a new base for power from which he waged war on the Heavens. In MK4, his escape through Edenia led to a slaughter of the gods and battle with his nemesis Raiden. In Armageddon, the vanquished Shinnok became an ally to Raiden, before the reality of the timeline was overwritten by the thunder god. This time he plotted to conquer the Earthrealm - something he did until Johnny Cage rose to send the demon god packing. In MKX, Shinnok once again led the forces of Netherrealm to corrupt the Earthrealm, confronting old enemies alongside a new generation of heroes! He was thwarted by Raiden again, but not before he blackened the very spirit of the Earth, forcing Raiden to cleanse it at his own expense!
Tanya was once the women who invited the devil in. In MK4, she served the fallen Elder God Shinnok, having allowed his forces passage through Edenia. This damned her world, but the daughter of Edenian nobility proved more than willing to do what it took to survive. She remained hidden until Armageddon, but was given a second chance when the timeline was rewritten. In MKX, Shinnok's conquest of Earthrealm was behind him. With Edenia still bound to the realm of Outworld, Tanya aligns herself with Rain and the ousted Empress Mileena in a civil war for control of the throne. Her allegiance is short-lived, selling out the treacherous Rain, while narrowly avoiding death. A DLC addition to Mortal Kombat X, she awaits an unknown future.
In the old timeline they debuted as master and apprentice. In Mortal Kombat X, they were redefined on their own terms - villains of Netherrealm and Outworld! Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

Something tells me that Skarlet might face Fujin.
It could be Tasia from the comics. She was in it the last few years. Or maybe... Mokap? lol
Also, I'm sorry, but how is she a yellow Kitana? Last time I checked, she had three unique and awesome fighting styles in MKX that matched her character. She didn't need to borrow from another character to be rounded out, like someone else. Just saying...
Of course I'm exaggerating, but you get the point.
