Reptile by a hair (scale?)

He has always been great to use, whereas i found Smoke to be at his best during MKD/MKA era. I am very on board with Triborg Smoke's gameplay, but MK9 Smoke was a little lacking for me. Reptile, on the other hand, has always been sweet to use, even if he's not the best fighter, he's still strong.

I voted for Reptile. He deserves better. I hope he actually gets his chance to restore his race to its former glory.

Yeah he deserves so much better! Netherrealm should give him his own game! Mortal Kombat Mythologies 2: Reptile! Get the Reptile: Shao Khan's Bitch edition for $20 more which includes Kitchen mode where you do all of Shao Khan's dishes. Fail the time limit and your save file gets deleted!

This is a no-brainer. MKX marked Reptile's best representation in the series in years in spite of the game's overall shit storytelling. Despite serving under another character's command again, his personal storyline finally progressed a little.

Smoke, on the other hand...nothing new to report. Moving on.

Tough choice.

Adapted from palette swap ninjas? Check.
One-dimensional personalities? Check.
Massively underdeveloped potential? Check.

On the plus side, they both didn't have sucky gameplay.

I'll say Skarlet. Her appearance in MK9 (although non-speaking) was less contrived than Frost's painfully forced cameo in MKX

Don't really care for either but I'd take Frost over Skarlet, any day.

Frost

Gameplay: I went back to Deadly Alliance to play as Frost a little more, and I didn't exactly find any enjoyment. Although I never enjoyed playing as Skarlet either, so tie.

Personality: Skarlet doesn't have one, but Frost is a hothead bitch, so Skarlet.

Design: Frost. Skarlet's is bland.

Finishers: Skarlet's. The fatalities from MK:DA just weren't that good.

Backstory: Another tie. Both of their characters haven't had any chance to really even develop.

In a fight: I'm going to assume it'd be Skarlet, because I'm not exactly sure if Frost is really trained that much.

The blood fueled warrior wins against Sub-Zero but with jugs 3-1-2.

Both had interesting parts in the comic. I really liked Froste cameo early on, but Skarlet made more impact. The "Blood Code" was a fun nod to the good old days and it gave Skarlet a reason to be around, but it didn't go very far. I liked the simple design they gave her, black with red. Good for comics even if it would be too bland for games.

Frost's freak out in the game was pretty lame, but there was something about her colors in MKX that I really liked. The fact that she actually made it into the game is obviously a huge vote for superiority. Which is why Sonya should really be here and winning this match. You know how Ed supposedly says we can't have NPCs any more? This kinda stuff is why. Skarlet beating Sonya was a total credibility killer. Just silly.

Frost.

Her omission from MKX was criminal. They've got the whole "next generation" thing going on, and Frost DOESN'T make an appearance? This is very confusing to me. After being teased in the comic (though anything from the comic should be taken with a grain of salt - it's either completely wrong in the scope of MKX or poorly explained), and making a cameo in story mode, she definitely should've been represented to some degree. I get the feeling that she's going to be used as the cause for a breakdown of peace between the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu again in a future game...if they even bring her back.

Ultimately, I like Frost and I think she needs a better design and another chance. She easily could've occupied a spot that was completely wasted by one of the revenants or Goro.

As for Skarlet, I really like her design, her moves, and everything about her. She was a great, truly unique addition to the roster in MK9.

It was a tough choice, but I had to go with Frost because she needs a second chance and more significant role. Another person in the world with Cryomancer abilities? There's gotta be significance to that. She's too young to be the "long lost sister" I think...so maybe she's Bi-Han's illegitimate (or perhaps even legit from a secret family) daughter? There's a lot of potential here.

Skarlet.

It has such potential in Mortal Kombat is unquestioned, and his character is more interesting that one has already been explored with ice

Really surprised at the amount of people voting for Frost! I was under the impression that she was universally loathed. Agree with the sentiments that she should have been in the game considering that this is supposed to be the next generation.

That said, there's no way in hell she's better than Skarlet.

If we never see Skarlet again, it will be too soon. Frost.

Both are a waste of space in the series, but in the end I voted Frost. I warmed up to her ever so slightly because of her modernized appearance in the comic, but her out-of-nowhere MKX cameo was just ridiculous.

Skarlet...adios. She's far more irrelevant to the games that it took nearly two decades for her to finally appear in a game. Did like her design in the comic, though.

I'm not being aggressive. I'm being sarcastic and telling the truth. Reptile has been the bitch of Shao Kahn for the longest time. I'm sorry you haven't played anything earlier than MK9.

I voted for Frost. Surprised she's winning yet again. I figured it would be the other way around.

Kotal Kahn all the way. He's actually an interesting character from the realm that most matters: Outworld.

If you guys play Mortal Kombat for the so overused story of human cyborgs and love Earthrealm characters more than Outworld characters, then this game has lost its essence.

Both are cool, but I'll have to go with the original Cyborg. His gameplay in MK 2011 was fun as hell. His story of redemption was refreshing at the time.

Yeah Matteo, calm your tits. No need to trivialize an aspect of the game (that others enjoy) just because you personally don't find it appealing.
