People are actually voting MK's biggest stereotype, Nightwolf, HUGE over Kung Jin? Y'all are nuts.
They're doing better than average. Takeda, Ferra/Torr, Kotal, Erron Black & D'Vorah got through. Triborg, Jacqui, Cassie and Kung Jin didn't. Tremor isn't technically new but he got through too.

A sense of injustice lingers in the air! Dark Kahn is a god among us: the fusion of conquering Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn, and the New God of Evil Darkseid! Spreading rage wherever he appears, the moltenous visage of Dark Kahn threatens the very sanctity of the entire multiverse! Raiden is the sworn nemesis of Shao Kahn and eternal protector of the realm of Earth. The thunder god was tainted by his battle to defend Earth from the corruption of fallen elder Shinnok, but his rage only makes his pursuit deadlier for the forces of darkness! It's a krisis on multiple realms, but who reigns supreme when worlds collide? Round 1 koncludes here! Choose your destiny!... FIGHT!
Moveset: You can't play as Dark Kahn, and I've always enjoyed playing as Raiden.
Personality: Raiden.
Design: Raiden. Dark Kahn's is really generic.
Finishers: Raiden, obviously.
Backstory: Raiden. Dark Kahn? Combination of Shao Kahn and Darkseid? Dumb.
In a fight: Raiden.
The thunder god wins against the fusion of evil 6-0.
You're pulling my fucking leg, Mick. Come on.

I'm not saying everything's bad by any means, but there's still a lot of faulty logic, strange decisions, inconsistencies in character power etc and as much as Raiden the character shouldn't shoulder the blame, it feels like a lot of the decisions they gave him set up things to be where they're at now.
But yeah, the boss of MK vs DC? No, I don't hate Raiden enough to vote for him.
Still a huge fan of his design in MKX.
STATE FED LIES CHARM EMPTY EYES. Anon.
I dislike both these characters. Ghhh...what a vote. Kung Jin I guess, though they just made him gay so they can cash in from the LGBT, or whatever their denomination is, guys. Gosh....
I think they made him gay to show that not everyone is straight. There's, what? Over 70 playable characters in the entire franchise? Statistically about 7-9 of them would be gay. This is their way of showing that they are in touch with certain modern aspects of young people's lives, as society (but perhaps not you) finally accept people with alternate sexualities.
From a writing POV having a character who believes others wont be accepting because of that one aspect is a very realistic and humanising trait.
I take offence at you trying to bash NRS's efforts here. They showed a guy; an ex-thief, a shaolin, a hero, a jerk... who happens to be gay. They didn't let it define him. They didn't throw a big pride flag around him, make him mince when he walks or give him a lisp. That sort of stereotype would have been disrespectful. However, they didn't use this tiny aspect of him as a selling point in any media or promotion, so i just don't see how you can accuse them of being so crass as to "cash in" from the LGBT community, (especially when they do resort to "cashing in" it's obvious because it's in the form of a horror movie guest character).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, voted Raiden. Mainly because Dark Kahn was a big troll to try and beat.
Raiden, obviously.
Kung Jin I guess, though they just made him gay so they can cash in from the LGBT, or whatever their denomination is, guys. Gosh....
Absolutely, because the gay community is so openly accepted in the gaming world.
Seriously, I'd like to know what rock you're living under.
Dark Kahn? What the flying fuck is this?
Raiden, obviously.
Kung Jin I guess, though they just made him gay so they can cash in from the LGBT, or whatever their denomination is, guys. Gosh....

Especially all those kind slurs they throw at you.

Round 2 begins! Sub-Zero is the new master of a reformed Lin Kuei clan. Wielding total mastery over ancient kori techniques, he is a natural born cryomancer for whom the slightest moisture becomes a deadly ice cold weapon! Rain served Mileena in her quest to claim the Outworld throne, but serves only himself. An Edenian born demi-god, Rain belives himself a ruler by birthright. Wielding the might of the elements he calls forth lightning and torrential downpour! With ice in the air, it will be heavy rain - but who weathers the storm? Choose their destiny!... FIGHT!
... here's your Subzero, now plain zero.
Personality: Sub-Zero, because Rain is an egomaniac.
Design: Sub-Zero.
Finishers: Sub-Zero. He's had some of the greatest in the series.
Backstory: Sub-Zero had a whole game for his backstory, but that was about Bi-Han. Rain being the son of Argus is pretty cool, so Rain on this account.
In a fight: Sub-Zero.
The Lin Kuei cryomancer wins against the half-god 5-1.
Don't get me wrong though, I still like Rain.
The original master of H2O versus the joke character that only became partially serious in the 2007 crapfest Armageddon, and began seeing real development in mk9/mkx. I'm going with the original...the character most directly responsible for the ESRB thanks to the spine rip.

But beyond that? Is it because NRS always seems to stop just shy of making him a regular roster character in main games or something along those lines? Do some of his fans feel a certain need to promote him because they see him as maligned or disrespected?
Either way, he's okay by me, but Sub Zero's far better for several reasons IMO.
