Personality: Shinnok. Mileena is an insignificant speck of feculent scum.
Design: Shinnok because hat.
Finishers: Mileena. Shinnok's weren't that good.
Backstory: Shinnok.
In a fight: Shinnok.
The fallen Elder God gets my vote over the Tarkatan clone 5-1.
Bummer...
All my favourite characters are out.....Reiko, Daegon, Taven, Drahmin, Rain.....
There's only Quan Chi left who I really like.
Gosh...these polls are the same every year. Only ninjas+Kenshi and Fujin being loved.
Get some imagination fellas!!
So wait...because your favorite characters throughout the franchise also happen to be some of the crappiest that ever appeared in the franchise, you feel that the rest of us lack imagination? I definitely admire your resolve in sticking with the characters you love no matter how bad they are, but grow the f--- up...even if the fan base loves ninjas a bit too much, that doesn't even factor into how much I care about a character. Sub-Zero has always been, and always will be one of my absolute favorites. Same with Kano, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Kung Lao, and numerous others that are both ninjas and not ninjas.
Stop being so butthurt about it. Your favorites need further development and more involvement in the reboot before the majority of the fan base grows to love them. And frankly, Rain is the most request character in the franchise next to Fujin, and Reiko had such enormous potential that I would've welcomed him on the roster over any single one of my absolute favorites in MKX. Just because they didn't get the popularity vote doesn't mean they aren't appreciated to some degree. And to be honest, MKO represents only a tiny fragment of the community at large.
I'm not buthurt.
But it just is a lack of imagination to disregard the thousand year old characters in favour of Kano who never did something worthy in his whole life other than being part of the original roster. And the examples may continue.....
Puto, ergo non est deus
Non opus est, si pretium non habetis.
shinnok is shit
that's your onion.

Personality: Tie.
Design: Ferra/Torr, because Kitana's design has been basically the same thing since 1992.
Fatalities: Kitana's weren't very good in MKX, so Ferra/Torr.
Backstory: Kitana.
In a fight: Kitana.
The Edenian princess gets my vote over the dynamic duo 3-2-1.
F/T still haven't really grown on me. I may like them more if they take their ending seriously and Ferra returns with a new rider in MK11.
So as I've said before, Kitana has never disappointed gameplay wise.
STATE FED LIES CHARM EMPTY EYES. Anon.
I just love Ferra/Torr. Hate me if you want, but everything is amazing about the duo: from throwing Ferra during matches to their dialogue which cracks me up everytime to their backstory in the Outworld deserts. I'm gonna cry if Ferra grows up and Torr seizes to exist. He is just such a lovable big baddie that it's hard not to care for him.

Round 2! The secret's out! Smoke fought to defend the realm of Earth during Outworld's invasion and seemingly paid with his life. Years later, the Lin Kuei enenra follows Quan Chi and the revenant army of Netherrealm - a deadly new threat to the world he once protected. Reptile is a warrior without a realm. The last known survivor of his Zaterran race, he seeks belonging under the kingdom of changing Emperors. With Shao Kahn dead, Reptile swears allegiance to Kotal Kahn, this time defending Outworld from the forces of Earth. Who's next?... FIGHT!
FB: Trans4Materia Card Game I invented "Circling Vulture, Laughing Hyena"
True story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine... EVERYBODY!
Both were secret characters at first, both have tragic backstories, both've had their real names revealed in the last 2 games.
Tommy or Syzoth, demon or zilly...
Love Smoke's updated moves. The Akuma teleport was a nice touch with Smoke's powers.
Loved his hair, even though a lot hated it. It flowed n fit great with the smoke theme.
I miss his spear, even though the Smoke Ring does the same reel-in effect.
Love Reptiles moves.
I do love Reptile's bone vest ninja outfit. Tremor should've had something similar, but with rocks.
Reptile seems to be somewhat respected by Kotal, so here's hoping he gets treated better or is more prominent in the future.
This is the toughest decision yet. I'm going with the OG, Reptile.
Ka-Tra
I'll never forget the first time I encountered Reptile in Mortal Kombat, and how that sweet green palette looked in the limited colors of the first game. He was one of the first true fighting game secret characters ever, and one of the best.
Enter Smoke - a secret character that grew as a character when he was introduced as a main roster character, just like his counterparts Reptile, Noob and Jade. Out of all the secret characters, his story expanded greatly...until it was cannibalized by Cyrax. However, the new timeline gave Smoke a depth he never had before.
Reptile, in both old and new timelines, is forever the "tragic lackey". In pretty much every ending and back story, Reptile was always switching sides, becoming the "Spy" or "Assassin" for the new big bad in each game. And in each game, he was always betrayed, killed for his loyalty, bellyaching about his lost realm, yadda yadda...he has never developed. Period. He is a highly expendable lackey, just like Baraka. His non-canon endings never really have any bearing on his future story. His backstory in each game is "Reptile got the crap kicked out of him. He fled. His old boss died. He's thrown in with the new guy. Now he's a spy and assassin, but he's still whining about his lost realm."
Smoke. Sorry Reptile, but Smoke wins it for me. Moves, finishers, character development/backstory...Smoke is the clear winner.
Personality: Reptile. Sorry Enenra.
Design: Reptile.
Fatalities: Tie.
Backstory: Reptile
In a fight: Smoke
The invisible hidden ninja gets my vote over the Lin Kuei member with lung cancer 4-1-1.
Gameplay: Reptile. He's been consistently fun to use since MK2, with a nice, unique, fitting moveset. It took Smoke a lot longer to find his niche on the roster, so I gotta detract points.
Personality: Reptile. In-game, he's a stealthy, vicious little gremlin, which melds with his moveset for a distinct identity . Smoke has yet to develop his own persona.
Design: Draw, here. Both have cool looks (MKA/MK9 Reptile; MKA Smoke) and not-so-cool looks (MKDA Reptile, MKD Smoke).
Backstory: Smoke. According to his backstory, he was killed as a child and brought back as a smoke monster. So he decided to become a ninja warrior. That is so fucking Mortal Kombat.
Finishers: Draw. You know the one where Smoke teleports through you and you just kinda...fall apart? That's incredible. You know where Reptile vomits acid over your head then eats the dessicated skull? Equally incredible.
2-1-2...Reptile wins.
