I think I'm gay looking at the results, two of my favourite MK females are Sindel and Jade and there #1 and #2. I must be gay, because we think alike?
I do hope that the women in the game aren't cheap like they were back in mk2 and 3, Kitana and Mileena were so sped up it was insane and their moves still did the same amount of damage as the mens so it wasn't really fair. I hope that is one thing that's left out of the trip back to the early years.

Brit's "input" is limited at best. Her name's been tacked onto the odd single as a writing credit, and after this long of buying her records I'm yet to see one iota of evidence to suggest she has anything beyond the most limited of musical talent. More than me? Yes certainly. Enough to be successful? Hellz yeah.
But to sit there and try and compare her artistically to Gaga, someone who, hate her or love her
- sings on her own tours
- writes the vast vast vast majority of her songs in their entirety
-has complete creative control of herself
- has never been a slave to her manager/family
- has never been a trainwreck victim to the sad celebrity machine (Brit having all my sympathies on that front)
Britney as the queen of anything is laughable if she can't sing on her own tours. I'm sorry but that's just the most basic of requirements to be a SINGER of artistic merit. Her old excuse of "my dancing's too crazy" is hardly applicable when her dancing has slipped.
Madonna, Gaga, Kylie, Christina, Pink.. They ALL dance, and yet they ALL sing on their tours. Why can't Britney? I know she CAN. So why doesn't she? Until she stops disrespecting her fans, she isn't worthy of the title "queen", no matter what lil ol Madge said at the VMAs... in 2003 -_-
You also apparently seem to be missing the whole point of Gaga if you can't even understand her outfits. Nothing about them is being "attention whore" (well maybe a little), but that you have to bring up practicality shows a certain lack of understanding. She's a pastiche, a parody. That she apes and pays homage to those who've come before her is crucial. Anyone screaming she's a copier or something has totally missed the boat.
I love me some Brit, but there's no comparison in terms of who actually can sit in front of a piano and go apeshit mad
I know I'm being a total stereotype but meh. I was Born This Way (bahaha I'm not actually lame enough to use that in sentences usually but it was just too perfect a chance)
Round 2. FIGHT ^_^

In terms of artistic sensibility, at least Britney can afford to:
A) not be an attention whore who wears meat dress/impractical shit
B) Write songs without the use of alliteration
C) afford producers to make songs that don't sound like other people's songs.
And Brit's had more input on what songs become singles than any other artist of her caliber.
Britney is the new Queen of Pop, even Madonna realized this and that's why she personally chose Britney first for the 2003 VMAs.
Haters keep on trying to knock the girl down, but she's proved her icon status is not a fluke.

Brit has her place, but she's superseded by other, more talented artists. Not necessarily in sales, but certainly in prestige as an artist.

Britney may not sing live, but she knows how to put on a great ORIGINAL show. EVERYTHING CaCa's done has been done before 100x better (in fact, most do it for an actual cause/purpose/meaningful reason). All her attention whoring is masking the fact that her songs are simple and complete rip-offs of other people's work. How dare you say she's more of an artist when her "influences" are borderline plagiarism.
Not only that, unlike Kylie Minogue, she doesn't even cite her sources. Her faux-Grace Jones-meets-Kylie Mingoue-in-Sweden shtick is impressive only to the ignorant masses (which are, of course, her target audience). Those of us who know of the artists she's stolen from also know that the originals did it because it was them and NOT because it's their marketing strategy.
Did you also forget who wrote songs for the other to use and the other REJECTED IT? That's right. "Telephone" was written for the Queen of Pop, but, after demoing it (which leaked and proved to be superior in it's rough form to the final version which features another plagiarizer), it was rejected. HA HA he he HA HA ho [/"If U Seek Amy"]
She HAS no message. CaCa claims to support the gays/mexicans (not even the latino culture, just the mexicans) only because she profits from them. I can't believe you fall for her bs. She's not a pastiche or a parody, she's a fame hungry whore. Her name was thought up by the studio people she was working with and her look was the work of Lady Starlight. Compare "Just Dance" to "Bad Romance". Her ~avant garde~ bullshit only crossed over into her music videos (not even the sound) after it became a massive selling point.
However, if you can forgive CaCa and her lame ass excuse for plagiarizing than you're obviously not worth the time spent writing this response. Bye Bye little Flopster.
P.S. To quote "If U Seek Amy" again, love her/hate her/say what you want about her but Britney's the fucking Queen of Pop and has been for 13 years already and is STILL going on strong. Deal with it.

I'm a proud "Gaymer" as well! Awesome thread idea and definitely a cool play on words:). I'm not surprised that so many gay people love Mortal Kombat, but I am surprised how large the LGBT community is on this MK board.
My favorite males (because I cannot pick one are: Jax, Ermac, Stryker, and Kung Lao.
Jax-When I was growing up, Jax was always a favorite because he was a positive image of an African American man, he's in the military, he's a hero, and he's trying to defend his world from oppression, I don't believe in role models, but he really did inspire me.
Ermac- I love magic and telekinesis and his evolution as a charcter has always intrigued me, for a rumored character he came a long way in terms of story, design, and gameplay.
Stryker- I've always liked normal humans, and I was so pleased to get an average joe fighting it out with the mystical forces of darkness. I've also wanted to be a cop for quite sometime and am going to school for that, so Stryker resonates with me in that regard as well.
Kung Lao- I've always been a fan of the mysterious and brooding hero, who isn't just all sunshine, I think he's a nice compliment to Liu in their differences. I've always loved Lao's combos, special and that razor hat is beast and he looks to really bring the pain in this game.
In terms of the ladies of MK: My favorites would have to be Sonya and Sheeva. I grew up around strong, independent women and I've always had a deep respect for women who can go toe to toe with men. I love that Sheeva and Sonya are strong, yet graceful and they both have some of the most enjoyable gameplay in MK3 and on to me.
I agree on the ignorant part, people operate under the assumption that gays, specifically gay men and straight men, do not have anything in common, but we're all more alike that people seem to think, same goes for lesbians and straight girls.
I wouldn't be particularly worried about the "stereotypes", I wouldn't call them stereotypes though, the people in this thread who are gushing over Brittany Spears are just being themselves, just like the gay guys who hate shopping and trendy pop singers are just being themselves( like myself). Gay guys/girls are as varied as the straight community and diversity is good in my book, no need to worry about it. Those who think gay people all act alike aren't worth worry about anyway.
I personally wouldn't know, specifically because as a gay guy, I'm very chill and friendly whenever possible and most of the gay guys I know are like that as well. We're as diverse as the straight community, we've got our rude people and our sweet people, just like everyone else.

Gay Gamer as well The ones we've seen so far that I've liked the most is Sektor, Jax, And Cyrax. Sektor the most because I really like his design especially the helmet. Jax has REALLY showed promise now in how he looks and plays..He used to be dull and boring to me in the ps2 games and DC. Third is Cyrax because of his crazyass moves from the videos. I can tell there will be a lot of Cyrax fighters out there online.
It's cool to see a lot of Gay MK fans but not surprising really.

Whauw... This thread turned from being about gaymers of MK into a popstar war. XD
Britney and GaGa aren't important. So let it go, bitches. Let's talk MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
Sooo... If you were to pair up two MK guys, then who would it be?
Two of my favourite couplings are:
Reiko x Rain:
At the time where Reiko has become part of Shao Kahn's army again and climbing the ranks due to being such a brutal warrior, he catches the attention of one of Kahn's top assassins, Rain. Being a half-god, I think Rain admires power, hence why he stayed at Kahn's side. He would see Reiko's ambition in taking the throne of Outworld some day, and he would provide a good ally when Rain wants to take over the rule of Edenia. The two could find romance while plotting against the current rulers of the two realms.
... and...
Jax x Stryker:
A typical "men in uniforms" fantasy, but there could be more to it. The US Army have the whole "Don't ask, don't tell" thing where gay men keep their sexuality to themselves for numerous reasons, and Jax carries this secret with him while he climbed the ranks, keeping his private life to himself with maybe the exception of Sonya, his partner and best friend. One who understands what he's going through is the more open-minded Stryker who met Jax the first time during MK3. And then it would evolve from there.
What two male MK characters would you couple up?

Well I went back and counted just the gaymer's votes to see exactly where the pink dollar was going. Sub Zero is on the list, I guess he just got left out accidentally. He's actually pretty high up there. Here's the gaymer's choice:

Sindel- 8
Kitana- 6
Mileena- 6
Sonya- 3
Sheeva- 2
Tanya- 1
Sareena-1
MEN
Sub-Zero- 5
Rain- 4
Ermac- 4
Jax- 3
Stryker- 3
Johnny- 2
Smoke- 2
Night Wolf- 2
Reptile- 2
Scorpion- 1
Reiko- 1
Kung Lao- 1
Shang Tsung- 1
Kano- 1
Sektor- 1 Last vote recorded was Ion3008

Well I went back and counted just the gaymer's votes to see exactly where the pink dollar was going. Sub Zero is on the list, I guess he just got left out accidentally. He's actually pretty high up there. Here's the gaymer's choice:
WOMEN
Jade- 9
Sindel- 8
Mileena- 6
Kitana- 5
Sonya- 3
Sheeva- 2
Tanya- 1
Sareena-1
MEN
Sub-Zero- 5
Rain- 4
Ermac- 4
Jax- 3
Stryker- 3
Johnny- 2
Smoke- 2
Night Wolf- 2
Reptile- 2
Scorpion- 1
Reiko- 1
Kung Lao- 1
Shang Tsung- 1
Goooo JADE! Woot!
But it seems like I am the only one who like me some Reiko manmeat...
Oh well, I wouldn't mind having him all to myself. ^^

Well this thread had officially blown my mind just on the fact that it seems I'm part of the minority of straight guys on this site and I think that is pretty cool.
I like that we can all talk civilized and just talk about MK without letting things like this get in the way. It just shows we are a strong diverse community.

For such a brutal game the fans sure are civilised!

Aww hell no. Here, hold my handbag honey *Takes of loubouttin stilettos*
I kid I kid!
I can't really think of any MK slash that'd be interesting. Scorp and Sub secretly lust after one another? ;) After Scorpion decided to protect the younger Subby, they fall for each other fire and ice? Mmm yumym
Haha
I really don't see any of them as being gay.... There's plenty of stories where it could be a "they just happen to be gay" scenario, especially with the Edenians/Outworlders (they may well not have the same hangups we do).... but none of them seem to have an interesting way to make it anything more than a side note... at the moment anyway

I always thought that Jade was more than just Loyal to Kitana.

You know, the thought has struck me as well. I kinda see Edenians to be more free and open-minded about their sexualities, so I wouldn't be surprised if those two actually had something going on now and then... I mean, they've been alive for over 10.000 years. They have to do SOMETHING to pass the time in between assassination assignments!

Not that it matters, cause they're no where near the top, but my hollers to Tanya, Kung Lao, and Cage weren't counted.
