Gaymer here as well! My favorite character of all time is Shang Tsung (I fell in <3 with him during MKDA). I just like that he steals your soul! MWAHAHAHA. -_- I've never been a fan of the females although I am excited to play as Sindel in MK2011 for some reason.

There's plenty of hot male characters in Mortal kombat depending on your tastes :p Then again they're not really marketing to us so much as the straight audience, hence Sonya wearing that boobs a-hoy outfit in MK2011. But I see your point, the closest thing MK has to a pretty boy is Johnny Cage

Johnny cage, Kano, Jax, Kobra, Liu Kang, and now Stryker. Plenty of bones to choose from. I'd prefer if MK stayed far, far, away from the "Ken Doll" look that is exploited in the Dead or Alive series. I like real masculine men, hair on their face, rough around the edges. After 5 pages, it seems like Rain is really popular, on par with the Edenian females. I wonder what about him everyone likes so much. I always kinda liked him myself, never thought his fanbase was that big though.

I'm a gaymer and my favorite characters in fighting games are always the ones that "feel" right. In Mortal Kombat 1 I didn't really have a favorite. Then in MK2 I kicked major ass with Mileena. MK3 was all about Sub Zero and Kabal. I also enjoyed playing with Sindel a lot. I'm kind of a Jade fan, but now that I think of it, I don't really like playing as her. Sektor is also one of my favorites because he's an evil robot.

In Street Fighter my favorites to play with are Cammy and Ryu. I'm also very good with Blanka, Chun Li and Zangief. The characters I can't stand playing as are the ones that are harder to control like Dhalsim, C. Viper, etc.

The one area where I have a lot of bias towards women is in music. For the most part, men all sound the same to me and it's not a very interesting sound. There's some exceptions like Thom Yorke, Beck, Billy Corgan, Jack White, Brian Molko of Placebo and Paul Banks of Interpol. Women's voices, on the other hand, are more interesting and appealing to me. There seems to be more variety, too. Some singers I like are Kate Bush, Siouxie Sioux, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Karen O, Dandi Wind, Nina Persson of The Cardigans and Karin Dreijer of The Knife/Fever Ray. A lot of times I think my music collection is what most easily gives my gayness away. I mean... no straight guy has every Tori Amos album.

Liu Kang? Lmao. I thought he was attractive in MKVSDC, but in MK'11 that was thrown out of the window. I like "real men" too, but not all "real men" have to be unattractive or bland.

I'm neither for or against rain, I think his last appearance was his better look by. Thought I'm fine with the water powers I felt they were poorly exicuted that water beam just looked naff in my opinion.
I also felt his story was very interesting

I like Kano's scruff too. I wish Shao Kahn had some.

I always liked Rain's look. I think his powers suck though (especially his wad shooter move).

Ehhh, the majority of the men are covered though. I think there's something sexy about the ninja's covered face (except Reptile and Ermac, one's not human and the other's ugly).

Johnny Cage was always ugly to me but Kung Lao is sorta cute.

UGHH, talking about these designs' attractiveness is seriously creeping me out.

Oh! This thread just reminded me of a fond memory I have. When I was in college I had this cool neighbor that lived next to my apartment. One day her boyfriend got to her apartment while she wasn't there and asked me if he could wait in mine while she arrived because he didn't have the keys. So I let the guy in and he noticed I was playing MK2 on the PS2 (from Shaolin Monks). I was surprised when he said he loved MK2 and even more surprised when he actually beat me on half the matches!!! I kick major ass in MK2 and I still remember most of the fatalities and friendships (then again, so does he), so him beating me made me like him a lot instantly and we became great friends from that day on.

I'm also a fellow gaymer myself and my partner and I can't wait for MK9. I would say that Mileena is my all time favorite female character. I've always liked her since MK2. Her moves and her story is what I like about her. She seems like a badass in MK9 and I can't wait to play as her. My favorite all time male character would be Ermac. I liked him in UMK3 and I became a huge fan of his in MKD. I do have other favorite male and female characters but Mileena and Ermac are on top of my list. I too am glad that there are a lot of gaymers out there who like MK as much as I do. Been a fan since the first. I'm also a huge fan of Street Fighter, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Gears of War, Dead Space, all Super Mario Bros. games.....and the list goes on and on.
