True she's fond of using fake blood and a lot of her video's have her poisoning people but that's hardly what I meant. I think you read a bit too deeply into that post there man. I'm straight as you can see, but my faves to play as when i was younger were always the fast characters, usually female. These days i prefer playing as the dudes. The first character i mastered in the mk series was sindel.

My favorite characters are:
Female- Nitara
Vampires are sexy as hell

Male- this is difficult. A tie between Reptile, H. Smoke, and Sektor.
Reptile always seems like he gets the short end of the stick, and he could kick so much more ass than he does. H. Smoke is just intriguing as hell, and Sektor is so badass.

Well its pretty obvious which female I like ;) I think I like her because you so rarely see older women in video games plus Sindel just has certain presencene. Although I do just plane love them goth gals

I find it kinda funny because I'm gay yes but have pretty much the same interests as straight guys. I'm a big sports fan (especially soccer), love cars, workingout, Mexican spicy food haha and most important video games!

I've mentioned this before, but I think the respect given to the female characters is what allowed me to get so wrapped up in the MK universe. There was always a sense of equality about MK.

Sexism in the MK universe itself doesn't seem to be an issue. I've always gotten the sense that women are viewed as just as capable and as worthy as their male counterparts. With that in mind, I don't think being gay in the MK universe would be a huge issue either.

I think it would be interesting to see a gay character in MK. I have no idea how that would turn out, but I think it's worth a shot.

Apart from the Edenian royal family, romance doesn't really play a part in the story. It would just be tacked on and unnecessary. For all we know, half the roster could be homosexual, but since it's irrelevant, we don't need to know.

We don't need characters that would simply be known for being gay.

They usually don't talk about their love lifes in MK, so there are probably already gay characters and we just don't know it *ahem, Rain, Sonya, Jarrek, I'm watching you three lol*

EDIT: I'd like to put Liu Kang on that list too. I don't see how anyone could pass up on Kitana. He's part of the pink team ;)

I've had serious doubts as to Liu's hetero status ever since MK4.
And on the flipside, I'm *not* gay, but I like Lady Gaga. She's not my *favorite ever* or anything, but I can dig it when I'm vacuously happy.

I disagree. It wouldn't be an issue in the MK universe, but I think it would be a big statement in the gaming community.

They could take two routes. Have a conventional fighter and mention it somewhere in their bio that they are in the tournament to avenge their husband/wife. It doesn't have to be a big part of their identity, but having a gay character in MK would be a great step in showing that the MK team is supportive of the LGBT community. We all know Scorpion has a wife, why not create a character that is as compelling as Scorpion, but have it as a footnote that he had a husband?

A second route they could take would be to incorporate a character's sexuality into the character without being offensive and still remaining respectful. Think Fang from FF13. I think they would have a more difficult time creating a gay male character this way, but like I said I think it's worth a shot.

I mean it's not necessary, but I think it could potentially be a positive thing.

I am not surprised that there are many gaymers in the MK community. Street Fighter has plenty of gaymers too. Ricky Ortiz is a gaymer who almost became SSIV champion if he had defeated Daigo Umehara at EVO 2010 grand finals.
