-Prepare for the Next Generation of Mortal Kombat
What did anyone think of RAW? I thought it was ok, not great, but still better than SD. Summerslam is shaping up to be a good ppv.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Brock Lesnar continues to be featured on ESPN. They haven't talked about anything new lately though. We will have a couple of updates regarding Lesnar and the Vikings training camp later on today.
- Bret Hart will make an appearance at Best Buy in Calgary this Saturday for the release of Acclaim's Legends of Wrestling video game. There is a lot of feeling that Acclaim needs this game to be successful because they are in pretty bad shape right now.
- There is an article over on MTV.com where Brooke Hogan talks about her debut album titled "Brooke Hogan: This Voice," which will be released on 9/21.
- Ken Shamrock was not used in TNA on either show last week. He has custody of his children and has made it known to TNA officials that he can't work more than one show per week because he's a single parent.
Apparently Shamrock has also been telling friends that he's not impressed with the company.
Shamrock views the promotion as minor league and to make matters worse he isn't on the best terms with Jeff Jarrett. Shamrock has told a few people that he is completely aware of the fact that he's just the latest big name who was brought in for Jarrett to defeat.
- Although former WWE superstar Rikishi's initial asking price was deemed too high by a number of independent promoters, the word backstage is that TNA officials are preparing to make him a contract offer.
- Shawn Michaels will not be returning for Summerslam to resume his program with Kane. He is expected back in September.
- The Big Show is also expected to return in September. WWE has been monitoring his weight closely so he doesn't gain too much during his time off.
- Both Christian and Shelton Benjamin are expected back before Summerslam. Management is high on Christian right now and feels that he will be a solid second-tier wrestler for them.
Official RAW Preview For Next Week - Regal Update, Hardy:
There was no one to bail out Chris Benoit in RAWs big six-man-tag match last Monday night because of an accidental blast by Chris Jericho to partner Edge. Still surprised, Y2J was subsequently leveled by a Batista clothesline. The unintentional attack on Edge by Jericho only fanned the flames of a heated night between the two formerly close friends. Their problems began on Jerichos Highlight Reel, which erupted into a brawl. Now, its unclear if Jericho and Edge will be working together or be at each others throats during SummerSlams Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship match also featuring the animal Batista. Will Edge and Jericho go at it again this week, or will they steer clear of each other so close to their pay-per-view Triple Threat Match?
Whats the condition of William Regal, who taken to a nearby medical facility following a bloody sledgehammer attack at the hands of Triple H? Well have to see if Eugene, who was likely watching the assault from home, will attempt to seek retribution from Evolutions leader. Whatever happens between these two will continue to build momentum toward their SummerSlam showdown.
Weve yet to see Matt Hardys response following Litas acceptance of Kanes Till Death Do Us Part SummerSlam match stipulation. What will Matt say, and will this further motivate him or cause overwhelming confusion?
Be sure to tune in (9/8 CT, Spike TV) to find out whom you eliminated from the 250,000 RAW Diva Search Competition and surely there will be more interesting things in store for the gorgeous Diva hopefuls.
Wow, I shrunk...
Then there is one part where Hogan is sitting back in a chair telling his daughter to do the "Belly Roll" dance. His daughter isn't too bad singing.I thought she would be some Britney Spears clone. She has talent.Plus her songs sound refreshing.
As hot as some of the Diva's are (Carmella wins) that stupid 20seconds each sucked balls. They were all so corny, someone shut that black chic up..she is annoying, and she took off her shirt to show her flat ass chest off, way to go..
In general tho, the show was good, and Y2J knocked out one of Edge's teeth, so that's a plus :)
blade-tsung Wrote: Raw was pretty decent, I like how Orton got the win over Benoit, that RKO was sweet ;) Y2J knocked out one of Edge's teeth, so that's a plus :) |
That's ALWAYS a plus. Can't wait for that Edge heel turn. It's about damn time.

Teddy Long says the first match will be a #1 contender match for the US Title. Out first comes John Cena. The Toyota Center is going mad as Cena comes out with a vintage Nolan Ryan Astors jersey. His opponent is RVD.
John Cena vs Rob Van Dam: Tons of Cena chants during this match and not too many RVD chants. Cena suplexes RVD over the top rope. Later on Cena goes for a FU that RVD counters and then goes to the top rope and hits a nice leg drop for a 2. RVD gets Cena on the top rope for a Superplex and nails it but Cena reverses the pinfall with an inside cradle for the 1-2-3. It is announced that Cena will face Booker T at Summer Slam in a Best of 5 Series match to decide the US Championship.
Eddie promo: This was just too fun. Eddie comes out in a nice yellow, low-rider but he doesn't come alone. He has Torrie Wilson, Dawn Marie and Sable in the car with him. Eddie says he needed some help selling Angle's stuff so he solicited the help of the lovely Divas. At one point Eddie gets in the wheelchair and says that his cousin Chuy was supposed to put the hydraulics in but he tells Dawn Marie to sit in his lap and he'll show her some hydraulics. Eddie is the man and the fans are totally loving this so far. He gets the Divas to autograph a few more of the merchandise and they go on their way. Next, Eddie tells us that he has a Summer Slam commercial of his own. It is a 100 meter race and Eddie is in the blocks with the rest of the runners. The gun sounds and Eddie just stands up while the other runners aren't moving. It shows the runners have their shoes tied to the start blocks and Eddie begins to run unchallenged to the end with a little showboating on the way. This was so funny!
Rene Dupree vs Orlando Jordan: This was a really quick match. Dupree throws Jordan to the outside and does his French Tickler. While he does it Jordan gets on the top rope and hits a body press for the 1-2-3. Afterwards Dupree flicks off the fans.
JBL promo: JBL says he's not afraid of the Undertaker and that he will infact call him out tonight.
Kurt Angle (with Luther Reigns) vs Charlie Haas (with Jackie Gayda): This was a great match with a lot of back and forth action and near falls. At one point Haas was a fraction away from getting a 3-count. At the end Angle hits the Angle Slam and clutches in the Ankle Lock for the submission victory. Minimal interference by Luther during the match, mainly just taunted Jackie a couple of times.
Paul London and Billy Kidman vs The Basham Brothers (WWE Tag Team Title Match): A certain Wrestling Babe's dreams have come true. Paul London has new tights! He and Billy had matching white tight shorts with flames on them. Definitely an upgrade for London. Back and forth match with an awesome ending by Mr. London. Paul goes to the top rope and does a double-flip and lands on one of the Bashams for the pin. This move was incredible!
Rey Mysterio and Spike Dudley vs Bubba Ray and Dvon Dudley: Spike sells a injured knee he got at the beginning of the match and doesn't really see any action after that. Rey is left to fight off both Dudleys. He does a pretty good job but gets caught in a 3D and as Spike is crawling to stop the pin its too late. After the match, Spike goes up to Rey to console him and then gives him a big kick in the junk. Bubba and Dvon get a table from under the ring and place Mysterio on it with the Cruiserweight belt on top of his stomach. Spike goes to the top rope and does a jump stomp on Mysterio that breaks the table. After the Dudley celebrate and leave Rey won't let the refs help at first but eventually does as EMS comes to the ring.
JBL/Taker Promo: JBL comes out and doesn't shake any hands or kiss any babies. Some dude had a plastic baby with a sign but I couldn't see what the sign said. Sure it was something funny. JBL says he was looking forward to coming home to Texas but has a poor reception in Houston and says that he's glad he's in New York now. Then he calls out the Taker and the gong sounds and out comes . . . MINI TAKER. A little midget dressed as the Undertaker comes out with all the garb and does the Undertaker walk down to the ring. JBL tells a bunch of corny short jokes to MINI TAKER and then goes to give him a Tombstone as the Undertaker's music hits. JBL looks for Taker coming from the ramp entrance but turns around to see him right behind him. JBL tells Undertaker he needs to get going and then tries to Brawl with him. Just as Taker is about to put JBL down Orlando Jordan comes out and saves JBL. Undertaker kneels down as the lights dim and then MINI TAKER does the same thing. This didn't sit well with Taker so he gave his little impersonator a big Choke Slam as the show goes off air.

- There is a lot of feeling that the elevation of Randy Orton on RAW will turn out to be a great long-term investment for WWE. If Randy does win the World Heavyweight title at Summerslam, Orton will be the first wrestler who was not with the WWE during the combined roster days to win the World Heavyweight title. The thought is that down the road WWE will be able to create several dream matches involving Orton and possibly even raise intrest within the company due to fresh, interesting matches taking place.
- We've heard some talk of Rikishi possibly joining TNA in the near future. At least the word going around right now is that TNA is interested in bringing him in, and think that he could do better for himself in TNA than he did in WWE.
- With rumors circulating lately concerning Sean Waltman's possible return to WWE, there is a lot of feeling amongst those in the business that Waltman shouldn't rush right back into WWE when he gets out of rehab. Rather, the thought is that Waltman should work on the indy scene for a while when he gets out of rehab, which would be beneficial to him in the long run.
When Eddie Guerrero worked on the indy scene back in 2002 he held up very well following rehab, turning down wrestlers when they wanted him to party with them. The feeling is that if Waltman shows the same type of commitment, and if his work and reports on him are good then he'll be given the job. The reason for this speculation is due to the fact that if Waltman is given a deal just because he went through rehab, without proving himself, is not a good thing, especially when a lot of Waltman's friends feel that he shouldn't be in the wrestling business anyway.
Tonight on NWA: Total Nonstop Action, according to TNAWrestling.com:
- Raven vs. Sabu in what is being billed as a first time ever, "one time only" match.
- AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash.
- America's Most Wanted vs. Team Canada in a Country Whipping Match, in which leather straps are attached to the ring ropes, and can be used by the wrestlers.
- Michael Shane & Kazarian vs. Jerry Lynn & Chris Sabin.
- Pat Kenney vs. Big Vito in a "Luck Of The Irish Weapons Match", which means all weapons are legal.
- Abyss vs. Sonny Siaki. If Abyss wins, Goldylocks gets posession of Siaki's contract. If Siaki wins, he gets Goldylocks' money.
- More in the Jeff Jarrett-Jeff Hardy-Monty Brown feud.
- Even though Lesnar has been signed for Vikings training camp, there is no guarantee he will make the final roster. If things do not work out in Minnesota, it is very likely that his football career will be over, since it would be hard to get another franchise to take him on at that point.
With that in mind, some wonder if Brock might possibly make a WWE return. As far as this reporter has heard, Brock will inevitably consider returning to WWE, for financial reasons at the very least. He still would have qualms about the rough schedule.
Although Brock had a reputation for being conservative with money when it came to small purchases, he also went out and bought many large "toys," taking advantage of his comfortable financial situation in WWE. One observer claims he was also negligent, to a degree, with paying taxes, so likely ended up owing the government a significant amount of money in April.
In the opinion of those backstage, WWE would undoubtedly be interested in working with Lesnar again, since he has become such a hot subject in the mainstream sports media. However, many are of the opinion that Vince would not be generous in terms of giving Brock a reduced schedule, at least not for anything near the salary Brock was receiving before leaving for the NFL.

- There continues to be rumors that Randy Orton will defeat Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight title at Summerslam this year.
As of right now the working plan is to have Orton win the title and hold it up until Wrestlemania 21 in Los Angeles, where he will face Triple H in the main event. Sources are telling us that WWE is planning on having Triple H play the babyface role during said match. With that said, there may be an Evolution split coming very soon.
We know that there have been talks within WWE of doing a double-turn with Randy Orton and Edge where they would make Orton the babyface and Edge the heel due to recent crowd reactions, but there doesn't seem to be anything to those rumors at this point in time. The plan right now is to have Edge turn heel and take Triple H's spot in Evolution. We do not know much more than that right now, but we are working on getting more details as soon as we can.
- The National Enquirer has a story up on their website about the Joannie "Chynna Doll" Laurer-Sean "X Pac" Waltman sex tape that is now for sale.
- The Rock has signed on for a new movie project entitled "Gridiron Gang." The movie is about a group of teens in a juvenile detention center who are turned into a football team by their counselor. The film is being shot at Camp Kilpatrick, the actual Los Angeles County Probation Department facility. This film is based on a true story.
- The WWE plays a new song from The Hives Called "Walk Idiot Walk" with lyrics like "See the idiot walk, see the idiot talk" could they be infering that those darling Raw Diva contestants are... *gasp* idiots?
- New WWE Smackdown vs. Raw info and screenshots at ign.com
- In breaking news, WWE released Ryan Sakoda earlier this week. It is expected that Sakoda, like most other releases, will be bound to a 90-day no-compete clause.
Sakoda had primarily been used in the team environment with Akio (Jimmy Yang).

A promoter has gotten hold of an XXX-tape starring the buffed beauty and he is making the rounds in Hollywood trying to find a distributor. The home movie shows the grappler, whose real name is Joanie Laurer, cavorting in bed with ex-fiance, wrestler Sean Waltman, a.k.a. X-Pac.
It will be out soon, unless like Chyna says Vince comes after her, which I'm sure he will if one of his wrestlers is out there doing porn.
In any event, when it does come out, i will pop my eyes out of my head.
"You see, I face a whole new Monster!! I face a man, who represents, the Nintendo Entertainment System..."
Dude!! This SD was fresh!! It had little people, LITTLE PEOPLE!!! Anywho, good stuff all around. Nice to see Kurt back in the ring, with a "new finnisher." We all new Spike was turning, but they did a table job which was nice. It also gives the cruiser strap some cred, and I look forward to seeing where this goes.
Also,is anyone else impressed with London? Haven't seen the 450 in the WWE in quite a while. I didn't find JBL one bit amusing with his "comedy." However, with the Orlando twist I was left like WTF, seeing how I didn't bother to read spoilers this week. I look forward to seeing where this heads, as well.
What was so nice tonight is that the storylines were developed through the actual wrestling, which seams to be a lost art in the WWE. I got to see peeps wrestle? WTF? 0_0 Even the diva shit was amusing and kept mefrom takingapissbreak- unlike RAW. Good stuff. AND LITTLE PEOPLE!!!
