- Rikishi is likely to be going over to All Japan, most likely as a regular there. He met with Keiji Muto in Hawaii last month and they talked about Rikishi starting in September or maybe even October, with the idea that he'd debut on 10/31 at the AJPW 32nd Anniversary show at Tokyo Sumo Hall.
Muto stated that the company's financial situation wouldn't allow them to pay Rikishi the type of money that he should be paid, but he still expressed major interest in coming in and forming a tag-team with Jamal, who is currently the company's highest ranking foreign wrestler. If Rikishi were to debut with AJPW, he would get the top foreigner spot.
- We've heard that the WWE RAW brand PPV which is currently scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th, will be titled "Taboo Tuesday" and will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconson.
Cable subscribers were sent out a mailer which listed the WWE PPV schedule for the rest of the year. Taboo Tuesday will take place only 15 days following Smackdown's No Mercy PPV in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
WWE brought back the old WCW Great American Bash PPV as their extra Smackdown! PPV event back in June, and Taboo Tuesday will be the extra RAW PPV, taking place on a Tuesday night.
- Mick Foley's knee injury was more extensive than originally thought. Foley needed a PCL replacement and also had a torn meniscus. He was supposed to be on crutches for a few weeks, but within a few days he was off them and walking around at the Democratic Convention last week.
Foley will be releasing his baseball novel in September, and there has been some talk of him writing another wrestling book as well as a novel based on a crazy foreign tour he did early-on in his career.
- There is feeling that the reason why Jeff Hardy is getting the title shot from Jeff Jarrett is that many within the company feel that Hardy won't be around in TNA for too long. Hardy has caused some scares and his own share of problems backstage since coming into TNA, and many are unsure whether Hardy will last long enough to elevate the company.
- According to WWE's Gary Davis, WWE 24/7 programming will feature "...classic matches, previous programs of Raw and Nitro, and original specials. Some months, the programming will be tied to a specific theme." The WWE is, according to Davis, very close to finalizing deals with cable system within the US.

Yes, but know it's an "angle-leg-lock," lol. A modified sit down angle lock, too good.

LOL! Yeah, that is pretty good!
Ghostdragon, you're right, Angle stole that move from Shamrock, who actually knows how to put it on, and noone ever roled out of his like they do with Angle's. In the future, I'd love to see a match between them, ankle-lock vs. ankle-lock, and I bet Angle would scream like a sissy once Shamrock got him in it.

- Eddie Guerrero is scheduled to appear on Smackdown in non-wrestling roles, but will not be working house shows prior to Summerslam because of his injured hamstring.
- Rumors have been floating around regarding Randy Orton and Chris Benoits match at the upcoming Summerslam PPV. Rumors state that Randy Orton will in fact defeat Chris Benoit thus becoming the new Heayweight Champion, and then take a babyface turn. The working plan now is for Orton to win the WWE Title and defend it against Triple H at WrestleMania 21, but sources say the plan is for Hunter to be the babyface during that match.
There has also been talk that Edge would be involved in a double-turn with Orton, perhaps as soon as Summerslam. There have been rumors for months now that Edge will turn heel, and some consideration was given to having him feud with Chris Benoit. It's possible that Edge will replace Hunter in Evolution, but it doesn't sound like there was anything to the rumors involving a double-turn with him and Orton.
- Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman and former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar impressed many during a scrimmage against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lesnar sacked quarterback Damon Huard and also recorded four tackles. Lesnar was also in the middle of a scuffle during the scrimmage.
Minnesota coaches say that Lesnar is making impressive strides, but still has a lot to learn. This is certainly a fantastic start for Lesnar, who says he hasn't been this excited since he won the NCAA wrestling title in 2000.
- The general feeling with WWE is that Brock Lesnar wont make the Vikings and will end up without the six-figure minimum salary. Lesnars best bet remains making the special teams squad, in which case he would get his minimum salary. If he does get cut, given the financial issues he has due to tax issues, despite (or more so because of) his seven-figure income last year, there is curiosity within WWE what he plans to do if he gets cut. He won't be welcome to WWE despite his increased name value from his NFL tryout unless he makes amends for some of the things he has said about wrestling.
- Brock Lesnar and Sable are now engaged. Lesnar made an appearance on a Minnesota sports television show on August 1st, and when a clip was shown of him walking with Sable at Vikings' training camp, he introduced her as "my fiance, Rena..
- Plans are for Undertaker to feud with John Heidenreich following the upcoming Summerslam PPV. McMahon is said to be sold on Heidenreich, but also considers this to be make-or-break time. Observers state that Heidenreich hasn't really improved in the ring since his last run with the company (he worked on Raw as "Big" John Heidenreich and made references to a "Little Johnny" character that never materialized). However, Heidenreich is very popular with the guys backstage, but as one source put it, "He just doesn't have it. There isn't a long line in the locker room of wrestlers who are eager to carry him in matches.
Anyway, I read Ric Flair's book in...what? Three days? It was an awesome read, though sometimes I felt he was acting too agressively towards some individuals. I don't mean Eric Bischoff- of course that guy is a prick. I mean Scott Steiner and Mick Foley. The way Flair justified his blow at Foley was really childish, IMO. ''Foley took a shot at me, so I'm taking a shot at him''. You'd think this is a sentence that a person over fifty years of age would never even think of using anymore.
And he seemed way too pissed at Scott Steiner. Sure, Steiner babbled bullshit about Flair, but IMO, he just didn't know any better. Some people are like that, they talk before they're sure of something. And IMO, Steiner did bring in some money, as opposed to Flair's statement that Big Poppa Pump ''never brought in any money''.
Also, I hate the type of person Flair was when he was younger... but kiss stealin', stylin' and profilin', limousine ridin' is a lifestyle, and I respect that so I'm defenetely not hating on Flair, since he still is one of my favourite wrestlers ever.
It was very interesting to know that the old fights were improvised on the spot, since I didn't know that and now I wish they still were so the superstars would be able to give us everything they got instead of just doing what the matchmakers tell them to do.
I haven't been able to take a look at Ric Flair's ultimate collection yet, since I keep going back to the royal rumble, hard knocks and bad blood, but I'm defenetely checking it out as soon as I'm sick of the other DVDs, since I've never seen Ricky Steamboat fight and his feud with Flair sounds very interesting.
Overall, I give To Be The Man a stylin' and profilin' 8.9/10 . It loses points because of what I said earlier about his shot at Mick Foley, and also because I feel it starts getting shorter by the page. In the end, I didn't quite find what I wanted to find. I was expecting a few more chapters about his relationship with the rest of the Evolution members, especially Randy Orton and Batista, since he already says that he thinks Paul Levesque is one of the nicest guys ever, blah blah blah, whatever. I mean, I'm sure he has some stories to tell about Evolution... I'm sure the horsemen weren't the only ones to have fun with the nature boy around.
Still, it's a pretty high grade. I recomend it to everyone who is even slightly interested in pro wrestling. It really sucks you into the 70s/80s world of professional wrestling, he describes his feelings and situations with writing skills that can only be compared to his in-ring skills (which, dispite his age, are still pretty damn good IMO).
Good work, Nate!

- The following match has been added to the Summerslam card -
6 Man Tag-Team Match
Rey Mysterio, Paul London and Billy Kidman vs. Bubba Ray, D-Von and Spike Dudley
- At last nights WWE house show in Trenton, NJ, Mike "Nova" Bucci did his fitness character gimmick again.
He was announced to the crowd as "Simon Dean". According to PWInsider that was done as a rib on WWE agent Dean Malenko whose real name is Dean Simon. Malenko was in fact at last nights show, as he came out to watch the Randy Orton vs. Chris Benoit match.
It certainly sounds like the name that Bucci was given was an inside joke on the former member of The Radicals. We are unsure as to whether the "Simon Dean" name for Bucci is just a one night only plan, or whether WWE actually have plans to have him known as Simon Dean from now on.
- Brock Lesnar, who seems to have a problem avoiding confrontation lately, started a fight in his first scrimmage as a Viking today, as Minnesota took on the Kansas City Chiefs.
The rules for the game were to avoid major contact and violent tackles, yet Lesnar blatantly broke the rules by sacking the backup quarterback, Damon Huard. "That's just me, and I don't care what [the Chiefs] think about it," Lesnar said in what was a succinct summary of how most Vikings players and coaches felt. "I'm here to play football and make the team. I'm going 110 percent. I'm not going to dial it down. That's the game. We've got full pads on. If that's the tempo they want to play, maybe my tempo is a little different."
After Lesnar's play, the game got significantly more aggressive and the Vikings were tacking Chief ball carriers.
Later on in the game, Lesnar tackled Jonathan Smith, prompting Jonathan Ingram to sprint into the pile and shove Lesnar. Lesnar responded by jumping on Ingram's back. The two quickly ripped each other's helmets off and caused players from both sidelines to get involved in the scuffle.
"I've got to prove myself," a defiant Lesnar said. "If it's fighting and clawing and whatever, then that's what I'm going to do. I haven't had this much fun since ... I can't remember. I have only one speed. Sometimes I got too far past the line and had to come back. I've got to find that happy medium, and I don't know if I've got it. But at least I'm getting up there and causing some chaos."
- Bret "The Hitman" Hart, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine are scheduled to appear in the latest WWE videogame, Day of Reckoning, for the Nintendo Gamecube.
- As rumored, strong sources are indicating that TNA has officially made the decision to move from Nashville to Orlando. Various reports continue to state that the move will take place in September, while others say November would be more realistic. Despite these conflicting reports, sources now are saying that once the move takes place that the Impact! tapings will move to Tuesday night's instead of Thursday night's. The first night for this change, although not confirmed, is scheduled for September 14th.
- As rumored as well, it appears TNA officials will go forth with the plan to end the weekly PPV events on Wednesday night's. Instead, TNA will go with a monthly Sunday night PPV event that will last for three hours. Although not confirmed, the first Sunday PPV is scheduled for November.

Being the hugest Ricky Steamboat fan on earth, he and Flair had many great matches in NWA/WCW. I have house show match of them in the late 80's on tape and it was really good! They had a legendary match on a "Clash of the Titans" show in the early 90's.
What does Flair say about Steamboat in the book?

Anyways, I had a chance to see SmackDown! on thursday. Great show IMO. All the matches were pretty good espeically the Angle/Haas match. Angle sure didn't loose a step in the ring. that was a very good match and having haas as his opponent was a good idea IMO.
The Eddie Guerrero segment was kinda pointless. If I'am not planning on buying Angle's stuff, why should I care?
Sence I didn't read the SmackDown! spoilers. I was kinda surprised by the Spike turn. that was cool. but damn, that looked like it fuckin HURT when Spike stomped on Rey on the table. I mean, OW!.
The Taker/JBL segment was pretty funny. that image of Mini-Me Taker standing on the stage before he walked down the isle was pretty creepy. it was hillarious when JBL threw the midget at Taker but taker just droped him. LOL! that was fuckin hillarious! and than afterward when Taker cholkslamed minitaker lol!. but one thing though. ORLANDO JORDON? ORLANDO FUCKIN JORDON? I was like WHAT THE HELL???!!! when OJ came out and saved JBL. there better be a fuckin perpous to this. they better give Generic McBlacky an actual gimick if the WWE wants fan to give a fuck about him.
Anyways, I thought this was a great show by SmackDown!. alot of good wrestling matches and entertaining segments. seeing SMackDown! without reading the spoilers was pretty refreshing. I'am going to try to not read the spoilers anymore that way SmackDown! will have that "Live" feel when I watch it.
