Ted Turner To Sign Austin, Goldberg, And Eric Bischoff:

A few weeks ago there had been some upstart rumors concerning Ted Turner and the fact that his no compete clause which he signed after the demise of WCW will be running out early next year.

I have been hearing from several sources that those who are associated with Turner have sent feelers out to both Steve Austin and Goldberg, to attempt and find out what their thoughts would be concerning coming in and working with a new wrestliing company.

Another interesting rumor that I have been hearing concerning Turner and the possibility of a new promotion of his, is that he would like to bring in Eric Bischoff to run the creative end of the company once the time comes for everything to get set up.

Those are the current rumors making their rounds. I'll have more once more information is available.

Damnstraight, that is interesting. If its true, it could mean good times for us wrestling fans. Turner is the person who can give the WWE the competition it needs.

Vince McMahon is going to be on Off The Record soon for a two-part interview, I'll post more on this when I get more details. Should be a good one.

Big Mordecai/Undertaker Feud Planned, SD! Booking; More:

Bruce Prichard was the guy who came up with the Mordecai gimmick before pitching the idea to Vince McMahon and the Undertaker. The plan as of right now is to eventually "feed" Mordecai to Undertaker and there has been a lot of talk that WWE wants to try and elevate Mordecai as best they can. There is also some talk going around that WWE actually "ruined" Kevin Fertig, who plays Mordecai, in a sense that he had a ton of charisma before coming into WWE under the gimmick, and now that his look has been overhauled (he actually had dark hair before this gimmick) he has lost a lot of charisma.

Some sources feel as though Prichard is the main reason for Smackdown's recent sub-par events in that Prichard has been manipulating his way to get more power in the company by badmouthing Dave Lagana, his co-writer, behind his back to Vince McMahon. Prichard's cause was also helped by the return of the Undertaker, as Prichard has always been one of Taker's main "allies" in the inner-office.

Major Update On Scott Steiner's WWE Return:

Scott Steiner had been out of action for months with a hip flexor and groin injury, and was just recently cleared to return. As we reported here last week, there are no plans to bring him back to TV, and he will sit out the rest of his original two-year contract getting his downside guarantee until the contract expires this fall.

There is still a small chance that he could be brought back but the feeling that is if they have him come back, it would be just so that he can put over some other guys on his way out.

The feeling is that he could have been given a shot as a heel on Smackdown due to the fact that he had been gone for so long, he was over, and Smackdown needs heels pretty badly at this point. A role like that would have given him limited wrestling roles, and he would have just talked and done some angles that could potentially get over.

Steiner is in his low 40's and has been bothered by a number of physical issues including his foot and back problems which stem from injuries he suffered years back and they limit his performance pretty badly when he is in the ring. It has also been said that for years, the amount of stretching and conditioning Steiner had to do just so he would be able to work limited matches, was a tremendous amount.

Jeff Jarrett Holds Major Backstage Meeting At TNA:

Jeff Jarret held a meeting backstage before the 5/12 PPV to tell everyon about the FOX Sports Network TV deal. He opened the meeting by thanking everybody for their hard work and patience, and telling them that many of the office workers had a long hard battle to get this show on the air.

Jarrett reminded the wrestlers to refrain from swearing or making any lewd gestures during their matches from now on, and he also told the crew that there would be a new seamstress who would help everyone improve their looks for the TV debut.

The company is still trying to make travel arrangements to get the talent from Nashville to Orlando for the TV tapings on Thursdays, and Jarrett mentioned to everybody that there was some concern that some of the wrestlers would have a tough time catching the first flight out of Nashville on Thursday mornings, which is the flight that needs to be taken so that they would arrive at Universal Studios on time.

Because of this, Jarrett said that the company was considering a charter flight that would depart from Nashville late on Wednesday night following the PPVs. He didn't make any promises, but it is definately an idea going around at this point. There has also been some talks about bussing the talent from Nashville to Orlando.

I wouldnt be surprised though.Steiner has been on those Steroids ever since WCW.And that was a LOOOOOOOONG time ago. It's finally coming back to him and Vince Mcmahn.I wonder what vince would say if someone from the crowd threw a empty bottle of Stacker 2 with Vince's name on it.He'll probably would say "How did that get there. It didnt just walk from my lock...I mean the audience."

I cant speak for everyone, but there are a few reasons why I dont like Evolution. First of all, I cant stand Randy Orton. I just dont like him. JR keeps sayin he has loads of talent, but I dont see him becoming a huge star. Flair is good supporter of Evo, but he shouldnt wrestle anymore. Batista is really kool, but they arent doing anything good with him. He needs to go out on his own. He needs some good rivalries. And then theres HHH. I like him, hes a good wrestler, and is very good on the mic, but he has had waaaaaaaaaay too many title shots and always holds the title far too long. Ppl just get sick of it after awhile. Well, those are most of my reasons.

OK. First, Randy Orton is a good wrestler. He is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over with the crowd (and I don't mean in a good way). They will go out of thier way to BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO him and what not.

He gets just as big a pop as any heel in the WWE right now, and that's a good thing. Same thing used to be true about a guy named Jericho....

His wrestling skills are there and polished. I really think this guy and Batista, Edge, RVD, and Cena are all the next big things in the WWE. ONly time will tell perhaps.

Evolution as a whole is cool, but I liked it better when they were called the 4 Horseman. It's a shitty rehash but eh. Batista is a monster, Orton is over, I just don't care much for HHH and/or Flair.

HHH - Put himself in Hell in a Cell against HBK just so he could main event a ppv when he doesn't have the belt?? PFFFFFFFFFT this dude is a TOOL. I'm just getting very sick of him.

Anyways, save ur pennies, 2 ppvs this October and one of them on a Tuesday night to catch the fall out from Raw! Should be interesting..

Gee, psyclobex, you're just full of optimism, aren't you. tongue

I think Orton is a good talent; and yes, he is one of the best heels in the business right now. He's the kind of heel you want to throw a beer bottle full of piss at. I loath his attitude and demenour, as such, he's a great heel.

Batista NEEDS to break the hell away from Evo, seriously. That dude is just to damn good. They need to give him some meat to eat and develop his character; Evo will not do that for him. I'd like to see him be the first member of Evo to split, and do so with absolute destruction, but meh.

Benjamin, oh man. If that boy stays clean, he is going to be sooooo fun to watch develop over the span of his career. Not sure if anyone has posted or seen this, but IGN interviewed Shelton Benjamin.
IGN interviews Shelton
If it's already been posted, meh, sorry. BTW, his favorite game series is Tekken...EAT IT HATERS!! grin

Mordecia needs to loose that gut, seriously. I couldn't take his character seriously once the robe came off...er, yeah.

SD, well obviously, needs heels. I think RVD should turn, and have rey develop back into his Giant Killa' days from WCW. That would be some shit. Is that Kenzo guy going to be face or heel? I thin SD really needs to push the cruiser division, too. This shit right now is horrid. I loved watching Funaki wrestle the other day, been a while. Meh.

Well, I'm back, had a lousy weekend! First, like to say welcome to my thread psyclobex, your enthusiasm about wrestling is great! DrCube, I ain't got a clue who or what Kaiju Big Battel is, next, Evolution SUCKS SHIT PERIOD! Orton can't carry a match to save his soul (what little there is!!)Trips needs to go away like now, and Jesus, God, when is Flair ever gonna hang those damn boots up?? Batista is the only one who shows potential, and he really needs a singles push, put him in a feud with Kane, last, The Rock is one of my favs, don't ask why, I just like him he's just great.smile
Now news:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tons Of Steve Austin Notes, Austin/Lesnar, Bret Hart; More:

Steve Austin recently did an interview in Japan where he hinted that he may indeed be coming to Japan to wrestle, though he never came out and said it blatantly. Austin praised Vince McMahon for being a smart promoter and he said that he left WWE on good terms.

Some interview highlights... Austin said that his favorite wrestling tape was of a Barry Windham vs. Dick Murdoch match from TBS. His favorite match that he's ever been involved in was the Wrestlemania 13 match against Bret Hart. He stated that Ric Flair is the greatest of all-time, and in his opinion the greatest modern wrestlers are Bret Hart and Kurt Angle who he also stated were the best technical wrestlers he'd ever seen. He praised Ricky Steamboat for his psychology in the ring and he also mentioned Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and Shawn Michaels.

Austin said that he has never seen Japan's MMA, though he has heard about it. Austin doesn't have cable television in his house and he rarely watches TV anyway. Not like that would matter, as Japan's MMA promotions don't air on U.S. cable TV. Austin also praised Shelton Benjamin and Brock Lesnar. He stated that he's spoken with Lesnar since they both left the company, and there is a lot of feeling backstage that Austin and Lesnar are two of the very few who have been at the top of WWE, and fully understand what the pressures of that position are.

Major Update On Brock Lesnar Signing With NFL Team:

There is a lot of feeling within World Wrestling Entertainment that Brock Lesnar will actually get signed by an NFL team in training camp and get a chance to earn a spot on the roster. The thought is that based on the amount of media coverage as well as WWE's own sources in the NFL, this is bound to happen.

There is feeling that while Lesnar's athleticism is up there with the best - his 40 yard dash time is under a 4.6 - his actual football technique will be what potentially holds him back from acheiving his goal.

Many have compared this situation to a great football that wrestled in junior high school deciding to try out for the Olympic wrestling team.

Rock Update, Summerslam/GAB News, Angle, Misterio, Trish; More:

WWE will hold a press conference in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on June 1st to discuss the Summerslam PPV coming up this August. The conference will be attended by Vince McMahon, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, John Cena, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Jim Ross, Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson and Triple H. As soon as the press conference is finished, Chris Benoit, Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson will hang around to sign autographs for the fans.

WWE announced yesterday that Smackdown's Great American Bash PPV on June 27th will be free to domestic USO affiliates upon request, so that they can hose on-base events for military troops across the country.

The 2004 Biography of The Rock will air on Monday, May 24 at 11 p.m, and there will be a repeat on Tuesday May 25th at 3 a.m. and it can also be seen again on Sunday May 30th at 7 p.m. All airings will be on the cable network A & E. While on the subject of The Rock, his appearance on Mad TV from 2001 will air on Comedy Central on June 1st at 7:30 p.m.

Guerrero Heart Attack Angle News, HHH/Bad Blood Update:

Before the heart-attack angle at the house show a few weeks back, Eddie Guerrero brought his two daughters to meet Bradshaw and they talked over exactly what was going to happen at the show and that grandma wasn't really going to be hurt, that it was just for show. As things turned out, Guerrero's mom actually had an anxiety attack from her blood pressure being raised due to all of the excitement and stress that surrounded the performance, and she needed to get some medical attention backstage at the show. Many backstage believed that since Eddie's wife Vicki did such a great job of "freaking out" during the angle, it caused Eddie's daughters to do the same.

There is some speculation making its rounds that Triple H set himself up with a Hell In A Cell match with Shawn Michaels at Bad Blood so that he could continue to hold the main event slot with the company despite not holding the World Heavyweight Title belt.

Official WWE Raw Preview - What's Next for Kane?

The following is from WWE.com:

WHAT'S NEXT FOR KANE?
May 24, 2004

Last week's Monday Night RAW was a memorable one for Kane. The Big Red Monster defeated Val Venis in singles competition, won a Battle Royal to become the No. 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bad Blood and received an answer of "yes" from Lita to a question he posed several weeks ago. With Kane in top form after last week's success, what is next for him as he prepares for his match at Bad Blood? Also, will his question to Lita be revealed? Find out on RAW.

Speaking of the Battle Royal, Kane's victory was a result of the suspended Shawn Michaels gaining a measure of payback from Triple H. When the final two were Triple H and Kane, HBK appeared out of nowhere to eliminate The Game and give Kane a trip to Bad Blood. The Game was enraged as RAW came to an end, and it is expected that he will be in a bad way this coming week on RAW. What will his reaction be? Find out on RAW.

All of this and more as the road to Bad Blood continues on Monday Night RAW at 9/8 PM CT on Spike TV.

DDP Possibly Returning To WWE; X-Pac/HHH News:

DDP was laughed at by many while backstage at Judgment Day for giving advice to Mordecai prior to his match on the PPV. DDP was also seen talking with Johnny Ace, which has led some to believe that he's looking to return to WWE.

X-Pac, who was also backstage at Judgment Day, spent most of his time talking with his friend Triple H. The two had not spoken since Waltman left WWE, but they're apparently on good terms once again.

BREAKING: Konnan Signs WWE Contract; Complete Details(For those who don't know yet):

Konnan himself has been telling people that he has agreed to a one year contract deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. As previously reported, he was pushing for an announcer position when he was backstage at Judgment Day. As of right now, he is going to play an announcer role. Although the specifics are unknown, it is expected that he would be doing backstage and in-ring interview type angles. He will most likely be a bit more “involved” than other announcers.

He apparently still wants to get in the ring, however does not feel that he is in the best physical shape to do so. As it stands right now, if things go well and Konnan gets back into shape, he could be used as a wrestler sometime down the line.

Konnan is leaving TNA on good terms, and there is no heat between the two sides over his departure to WWE.

You're welcome bud, and thanks for the praise in psyclobex's thread!
