That awkward moment when you win 3-0 against a random opponent online... And when seeking out a new one, you wind up facing the same guy again winning 2-0...
Even though I won both times, it still felt awkward facing him again, and I basically clobbered the poor guy twice. lol, he didn't expect my Amoonguss to be so good at tanking his Terrakion's Fighting Gem-boosted Close Combat.

After realizing all the starters are terrible, I decided to just go with an OU team and start with a Geodude (intent to make Golem) after beating the first few gyms with a bulbasaur/ivysaur/venusaur.

It's probably Rock/Dragon.
I'm just bugging you, but in all honesty, we have no way of knowing what type it is just by looking at it. Heck, with how often the legendaries "deviate" from the standard Psychic and Dragon typings, I'm willing to bet that both it and Yvetal are going to have at least one of those types in them.

Assuming the Light type is forthcoming, I think Xerneas is going to be Light/Grass and Yvetal will be Dark/Flying.
If not, I say Xerneas will be Ground/Grass. They both just seem right.

Agreed. This whole discussion about Light, Sound, Fairy... Something like that would be too big a deal to keep secret. Remember when they first announced Steel and Dark (formerly Evil)? Or abilities? Those "secrets" were about as well-guarded as chickens in a hen house guarded by coyotes. True, they're keeping a very tight lip on a lot of things for this new game, but hiding any number of types seems unlikely because of how often they failed in the past.

I guess, as usual, we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm still hoping for the Light type, though. I've been waiting for a new type for a long time.

Here's another theory cooked up by my half-sane brain. I was thinking about the whole type-debate connected with Sylveon and the other X&Y pokemon, and came up with a feasable, workable way of making the new theorised 'Love' type a reality.
Following the heterosexual mechanics in previous games concerning moves/abilities/breeding, it would go like this:
-attacks of the love type would be super-effective against the opposite gender, not very effective against the same gender, and neutral damage against genderless (like Magnemite or Mewtwo)
-moves like Attract and Captivate could be changed to the love-type
-defenses of a love-type would be weak to same gender, resistant to opposite gender, and neutral damage from genderless.
-no existing type match-ups need to be changed
Heres another silly theory: Because of the bows that adorn Sylveon, i noticed another famous Nintendo character whose emblem is the bow
That's right, Sylveon could belong to the BIRDO type (lmao)

I don't like this idea, considering I'm hooked on Sylveon's fan-made moniker as the Lesbian pokemon.
I'm actually hoping Sylveon has a move that affects pokemon of the same gender. That would not only be really cool, but a total game changer. No one would expect it!

This reminds me of the ability Rivalry, which is great to abuse if you're playing on something like Pokemon Showdown or whatever it's called, but I can't expect anyone to be using those kinds of attacks because the damage would be too random in-game/wifi tournaments. It'd be completely unreliable for definitive damage.
Those gender-based attraction moves in Pokemon have always bothered me... It's like... If Pokemon were like real animals, then mid-fight your Delcatty would be sticking her ass up in the air, rubbing it in your opponent's Wailord's face... Of course, if they were like real animals the moves would work on same-sex opponent's as well... I'm looking at you, giraffes.

It is similar to Rivalry, but a bit more in-depth. It's just a theory i heard and adapted and probably not true. Honestly i didn't want to permeate more heterosexual prerequisites into the mix, but it's not like i'm a dev or anything. But i do like the idea of a 'love' mechanic that goes further than the move Attract and the abilities Rivalry and Oblivious. Maybe it's just because i like pink (i know, typical homo - but i also like black so stereotypes can F off).

... and I think that it's ridiculous to assign sexualities to Pokemon.

Meh, even in nature, homosexuality is normal, but I'm not going to delve into that kind of crap for a video game. In honestly doesn't mean anything to me either.
Anyway, I just want to see some stronger Ghost attacks out there in this gen, better special Rock attacks, a special attack-based Rock type and isn't part Water, more trap-removing attacks, better special Flying attacks (the gap between Hurricane and Air Slash is huge), and better, more widespread, special Fighting attacks.

I've always thought gender-based attacks in that sense would make for good counters, especially for pokemon who's ability are Rivalry and for players who love to spam their female pokemon with Attract.
I would usually find myself having to switch out pokemon because of that damn Attract, and I'd wish I could counter that mess with a move that targets the same gender. That way, when I do have to switch out because of Attract, I can hit my opponent hard with an effective and confusing counter that has the potential to throw the opponent's entire battling plan off balance.
Yes, I've thought very hard about this. lol

I don't see Attract as a big deal, especially with how unreliable it is. Think about it, it only works if your opponent happens to be the opposite gender of you. Who wants an attack that works only with that kind of limit when there are so many better, more reliable, status options that don't disappear when an opponent switches?
I can't even believe the attack is still a TM since the 2nd Gen. It's fucking useless.
Ninja_Mime Wrote:

If it worked like that, then it'd be a whole lot better, and more widespread.
Heh, I would have so much fun if Attract worked on both genders. Attract+confuse+paralyze is exactly the kind of fuckery I'd be up to, heh. I'd just need a pokemon that can reliably do all three.... Hmmmmm..... Attract/Swagger/Thunder Wave/Substitute Liepard? Incredibly gimmicky, but it would be so fun to win this way. Of course, Liepard can't attack, but that's not really it's job.

I have a Blissey with super defense stats that I use strictly for healing the rest of my pokemon, though it does pack a mean punch.
My main Normal type, however, is my Togekiss, whom I've name Lee Chaolan.
Just got a nice Mantine from the Dream World.
It's only at Lv. 10, but it knows Bubble Beam, which is nice. It also has the Ability Water Veil, which it can only have when from the Dream World.
I named it Venice, after the city in Italy. 'Cause, you know, water.
